Please, I've been following this joomla training and I was thinking, is it possible to create a forum from joomla? And if possible, how can one have users like other user's posts like we have on facebook and nairaland where u can even know the number of likes to a particular post, and even comment.
I also need u to explain how to create picture slides with the modules.
I also want ask, is it possible to create a form where users can fill and submit to a database like microsoft access.

for the forum. Look for Kunena forum. It is one of the best forum extension on joomla. those other features u listed are inclusive. But the form I dont have an idea about that as am also a learner

Try a few more times, it should install. The first installation is usually so. Subsequent installations will be flawless.

ZinoFego: For those of us using AMPPS, you can install multiple scripts and apps as provided by Softaculous by accessing your localhost using the path below.

Path:
http://localhost/ampps or http://localhost:8080/ampps or wherever your localhost path is. Please include "/ampps" in front of your path without the quote "" signs.

Some of the scripts to install are: Joomla, WordPress, OpenCart, WHMCS, Drupal, PHP-Nuke, Mambo, phpBB etc.

Hello ZinoFego, I typed my localhost path "localhost:8080/ampps" into my browser but it coming up blank, Showing just white background. Is this normal or am I suppose to be online for it to work? because I believe its supposed to deplay the various scripts available for installation.

ZinoFego: For those of us using using a localhost on our system, we have been able to install Joomla successfully.

So I want to show those who intend using an online live site to do this training how to set up their own Joomla site.

Installing Joomla on a live site.

These are the steps to be taken.
**Caution: Please ensure that your host has a PHP 5.3 and Above*** You can see the PHP version in the cpanel of your website.

Lets assume your website name is www.SpringWebHost.com, and the Username of the cpanel is springwe.

1. Create a database called joomxyz. Note as soon as joomxyz is created, it carries the username of the cpanel as a prefix ie springwe_joomxyz.
2. Create a User called trak. This user becomes springwe_trak.
3. Add User springwe_trak to database springwe_joomxyz. Remember to grant all priviledges to the User.
4. Upload all the content of your extracted Joomla 3.1 package into the root folder (public_html) of your website. You may use any other folder in your website if you wish.
5. Type your website name into your browser eg www.SpringWebHost.com and the Joomla will start immediately.

Refer to a few post above to complete your installation.

please I want to upload joomla on a live site, and I have tried doing so but the problem I have is I can't upload the whole folder at once except I zip it which I have tried but its not working, except I start uploading file by file which is going to take a long time.
