√(Q + 5) = (Q - 1)
Simply square both sides to remove the square root, yielding=>
{√(Q + 5)}² = (Q - 1)²
Q + 5 = (Q - 1)(Q - 1)
Expanding the RHS yields=>
Q + 5 = (Q - 1)(Q - 1)
Q + 5 = Q² - 2Q + 1
Collecting like terms =>
Q² - 3Q - 4 = 0
Factorizing the above quadratic expression yields =>
Q² - 4Q + Q - 4 = 0
:. Q(Q - 4) + 1 (Q - 4) = 0
Thus=> Q - 4 = 0 0r Q + 1 = 0
Hence=> Q = 4 OR Q = -1

For statement 1, 2Q = -2 is true since one of the values of Q is (-1) and 2Q => 2(-1) = -2.
For statement 2, Q² = 1 is also true, since one of the values of Q is (-1) and Q² => (-1)² = 1
