I don't know if foreign women does it but as for we,95 percent of mothers does it in nigeria.it has been like this since we were born.after all, if you as a mother don't do it, who will

It may sound disgusting but when it comes down to the issue, you may just have to suck your baby's nose to clear it. When he's wheezing and trying to breath, and you don't know what else to do, you gara do what you gara do...
I have those plastic suctions, but my boy never lets it get up his nostrils and if you try to force him, you may harm him in the process. I don't look forward to the gooey biz but sometimes, I do it....not often

thats why we have Otrivin! i have nose wey if e scent unnecessary perfume or dust dat day don finish (allergic rhinitis is what medics call it). Then I got prescribed Otrivin..within 5mins nose don dry. And they have the one for children. So while I will do it if I have to, with d abundant supply of Otrivin nasal drops in my house and office; dat baby better open e nose for only one drop of magic water. My mum and gran did it for my kid bro so I am guessing mom use me (as eldest) practise

That was the end. The baby died, you'll see in my post that I said since then, they didn't allow the in-law to come take care of their children again.

TV01: Hygenic? who cares?

As soon as I spot anything "bubbling" around his nostrils, I vacuum it up like "dyson". Hot or cold, watery, soft or hard.
My boy is used to it. As soon as he sees me lean forward with pursed lips he knows it aint "kissy kissy" time.

He immediately closes his eyes, clenches his fists and instinctively opens his mouth. I don't stop till he starts gasping for breath.
It typically happens when I bathe him in the morning or evening, so straight down the plughole - but I'll "act on sight".

I once did it during his weekly swimming lesson. Come see whooping and cheering (if de bogey enter water, these oyinbos go abandon class 0!). My man is used to it now, oft times he'll just tug my shirt and say "daddy suck nose" grin!

Salt content varies, but can be a great health indicator.

While mummy is looking for "wipe", daddy is doing like "Action Jackson"

Awesome for bonding.

Dem suppose hashtag am sef!

OMG! Hope this is not nollywood film show?

Lilimax: It may not be hygienic but I did that to all my children.

I cannot stand my little one gasping for breath as a result of unpleasant nasal congestion
with a build-up of mucus by catarrh smiley.

My mum encouraged me to do that since she did same to me embarassed
Thumb up! Eku oro omo

I watched my daughter struggle to breath when she was 6months old cos of catarrh. She was so helpless and her mother was away. Now as d dad, i didn't even wait a second before using my mouth to suck out d nonsence catarrh.
Guess what... I felt very happy that i got it out and she was fine. I feel alive and fulfilled whenever i think of it. I think d men shud start thinking in this direction. U may experience peace and inner joy u never knew had existed, some of those special moments in fatherhood

Haaa...see these ajebos ooo, me i'm a father and i do it to relieve my daughter always, when you use the handkerchief too much, it bruises her nose and pains a lot, as for using vacuum, i wouldn't even try it because it might make her to put anything she picks up in her nose-which is not very safe.

I never knew I ll be able to do it until I had my son. It used to look dirty for me until I know what it means for a child not to be able to sleep because of stuffy nose. After the eucalyptus oil n steam, o boy come and see how the whole nostrils will be drooling. I quickly put my mouth and suck the damn thing out. It was kinda weird initially but it us fun doing it now. The joy is seeing ur baby or toddler come alive again.
