Watford closing in on a deal to sign Nigerian Under 20 striker Isaac Success from Spanish sister club Granada

Isaac Success has scored six goals for Granada in La Liga this season
Granada, like Watford, are owned by the Pozzo family
Success' agent says negotiations are already underway over a deal

By Simon Jones for MailOnline

Watford are closing on a deal for striker Isaac Success from Spanish sister club Granada.

The Nigerian Under 20 international has scored six goals this season, featuring mainly in a left wing role though he can also play across the front line.

Success was initially bought by Udinese from BJ Foundation in 2013 but didn't gain a work permit for 12 months and then moved to Granada.

Granada striker Isaac Success is closing in on a move to Premier League side Watford this summer

Nigerian Under 20 international Success has scored six goals in La Liga for Granada in the current campaign
Udinese, Granada and Watford are all owned by the Pozzo family and a move from La Liga to the Premier League now looks to be on the cards.

Red cards: 1

.
The 20-year-old's agent Dominic Egbukwu told All Nigeria Soccer: 'Watford and Granada are still negotiating, the wages are still being discussed.

'The only transfer fee Watford will have to pay is 10 per cent sell-on clause to BJ Foundation.

'They are not releasing him to Valencia or any other club except Watford. Atlético Madrid, Inter Milan and PSG have approached us. Plenty of teams want him.'

Watford expect offers for their star strikers Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney this summer but are keen to keep them as they look to improve on this season's Premier League finish.

Watford remain keen to keep hold of their star strikers this summer, including influential captain Troy Deeney

Odion Ighalo is also a key man for the Vicarage Road outfit after he previously turned down a move to China

Captain Deeney netted twice against Aston Villa last weekend to take his goal tally for the season to 13. Ighalo, meanwhile, has been a revelation, scoring 16 goals as Quique Sanchez Flores' side made it to the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Despite his success this season, Flores has been linked with the sack and if were to end up leaving the club then there might also be changes to the playing squad.

Current Swansea manager Francesco Guidolin, who retains close ties to the Pozzo family, has been linked with taking over at Vicarage Road.

I think Watford are preparing for life without Ighalo.

Besides, Clubs usually have at least 3 natural CF.
So even if Ighalo remains there is still plenty of opportunities for Success to feature as Watford would be involved in so many competitions.

Could be that Watford are increasing their attacking options by the inclusion of Isaac Success in their squad. Could also be that the long term plan for Success is for him to take over from Ighalo cos even if Ighalo doesn't leave this season and he repeats this kind of performance next season bigger clubs will surely swoop him away from Watford.

No matter which way, it would be a good transfer move for the young lad.

Alex Iwobi Voted Arsenal Third Best Player In April

Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has missed out on Arsenal’s Vitality Player of the Month award for the second straight month .

The attacking midfielder finished third in the voting behind Egypt international Mohamed Elneny, who picked up the accolade in March, and Chile star Alexis Sanchez.

Elneny got 40.2 percent of the combined votes, Alexis gained 32.3 percent while Iwobi was next with 16.3 percent of the votes.

In April, Iwobi made six straight starts for Arsenal in the Premier League, racked up 448 minutes of game time in the process, and was on target against Watford (April 2) and notched two helpers the following weekend against West Ham.

The 20-year-old has been called up to the Nigeria squad for the upcoming friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg.

Rio Olympics Ambition Threatens Musa’s Leicester Link

By Johnny Edward:

Leicester City's interest in CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa may hit the rocks following the player's ambition to feature as one of the overaged players in Nigeria's squad at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in Brazil, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The Foxes who are just two wins from lifting the 2015/16 English Premier League title, Completesportsnigeria.com gathered, will revive their interest in the CSKA Moscow striker who has scored 12 goals in 32 games this season.

The 23-year-old was a target for Claudio Ranieri in January, but Leicester failed to match CSKA's asking price of £20million for the Nigeria international.

"Its a big 'if' on whether he will move in the summer because he has expressed his desire to represent Nigerian at the Olympics which Leicester may not really agree with," a source close to the player told Completesportsnigeria.com.

"But once a concrete offer has been tabled, that will be discussed."

Leicester had two bids rejected by CSKA Moscow in January, but will hope to strike a compromise at around £18m for Musa in the coming weeks.

Musa can also add Champions League experience, something lacking in Ranieri's exciting squad ahead of next season.

Then let him just forget the Olympics and Face his Leicester transfer. As long as Iwobi and Simon are in that squad, we will not miss Ahmed Musa.

Success won the Granada player of the season. That's impressive.

We need to get Iwobi, Success and Iheanacho playing together. I believe they can build a dynamic connection.

This is what we want to see at the Olympics. Add Simon to that trio wink

Nigeria U23s Netminder Emmanuel Daniel Concedes Three Goals As Rangers Lose

A sparkling first half performance by Rivers United set the tone for a comprehensive 3-1 victory over Enugu Rangers in an exciting Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) game decided at the Yakubu Gowon (former Port Harcourt Liberation) Stadium on Sunday.

United were seemingly on the ropes before the contest with no less than five of their first team players unavailable either through suspension or injury.

In the absence of trusted personnel which included the club’s top scorer, Chinonso Okonkwo, United produced their best performance of the season as they dispatched the highly-rated Flying Antelopes with a barn-storming display.

United showed their intent early on when Chigozie Ihunda was presented with a one-on-one opportunity in the ninth minute following a shocking defensive error by Okey Odita.

The right back-turned auxiliary forward however opted to chip the goalkeeper, Emmanuel Daniel rather than go for power and the effort sailed harmlessly wide.

The home fans did not have to wait too long for the opening goal though and it arrived in the 17th minute.

Ihunda was upended in the box and Bernard Ovoke stepped up to dispatch the spot kick in cold-blooded fashion.

Four minutes later, the hosts were two goals to the good and the effort by Christian Weli will be talked about for many days to come.

The Rivers United midfielder picked up the ball about 30 yards out on the left and with the unsuspecting Rangers rear guard expecting a slow build up, Weli let fly from the outrageous distance and found the top left hand corner of Emmanuel Daniel’s goal.

The home fans went wild as they celebrated the effort which will definitely be in contention for goal-of-the-season.

United were flying and added a third goal-yet another out of the top drawer-on the stroke of half time, to virtually end the game as a contest.

A flowing team move which involved four United players was finished off, left footed by Ovoke, who fired into the roof of the Rangers net as the shell-shocked visitors struggled to contemplate what had hit them.

Rangers were to claim a consolation two minutes after the restart in fortuitous fashion with Olalekan Gabriel inadvertently diverting a cross from the right past Sunday Rotimi and into the United goal.

The two sides traded chances afterwards but the hosts always looked the likelier of the two sides to add to their tally.

Ofem Inah’s cross, with seven minutes remaining, was met by an Ihunda header which clattered against the post with Daniel beaten.

Rangers stay top of the standings with 27 points from 14 matches despite the defeat in Port Harcourt while United moved up to sixth with 22 points from 14 matches.

Just as Joe Harts conceded 4goals to Southampton over the weekend.

Sh!ts like this happen once in a while. Emmanuel Daniel is still our best young and upcoming goalie. With him and Dele Alampasu we have credible replacements for the current crop of Super Eagles goalies.

from what i read the transfer is all but done, i am still on the fence because watford is on horrible form right now. Valencia to me was the better option but i believe the Pozo's are holding on to him for a bigger payday.

Leading Scorer In Norway, Fred Friday Admits Several European Scouts Are Watching Him

Lillestrom striker Fred Friday had admitted that several teams outside Norway have sent their scouts to watch his games with a view to a transfer in the summer transfer market.

The 20-year-old has taken the Norwegian Premier League by storm this season, scoring in each of his last six games in the division, and could depart the Canaries in the coming months if he keeps churning out brilliant performances.

“Right now I am not interested in who is after me or not, I don’t know what will happen this summer,” Fred Friday told
allnigeriasoccer.com.

“I just have to keep doing my best. Of course, teams have made enquiries about me, scouts from abroad have come to watch my games.”

Fred Friday was not involved in Lillestrom 1-0 loss to Sandefjord in the Norwegian Cup on Wednesday because he felt pains before the game but managed to train this morning.

Manchester City Legend Expects Big Things From Iheanacho Next Season

Manchester City legend Shaun Goater expects Kelechi Iheanacho to take the Premier League by storm next season.

The Nigerian talent has already shown glimpses of his quality in the current campaign, with 13 goals to his name in 32 appearances in all competitions, including his brace last weekend at Southampton.

“A few months ago I used to think we needed a forward to push Aguero but Kelechi Iheanacho has a frightening record and is excelling in his role.

“He also has a good work ethic and this is a key thing Pep Guardiola will be looking for next season – a work ethic as well as producing goals. ” Goater told 888sport.

Iheanacho will be hoping he is given a run-out at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday night when City clash with Real Madrid in the semifinal of the Champions League.

Arsenal's Wilshere impressed by 'special' Iwobi

The Englishman has nothing but praise for the Nigerian and thinks he has repaid the faith of manager Wenger in him

Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere has praised the form of Alex Iwobi and feels there is something special about him.

The 20-year-old has been a revelation since getting his chance in the Gunners side, scoring against both Everton and Watford in the English Premier League.

According to the England international, the Nigerian has repaid the faith of manager Arsene Wenger in him.

“I really like him as a player,” Wilshere told Arsenal Player. “I watched him in the FA Youth Cup last year and you could always tell there was something special about him.

“He used to train with us quite a lot. He was young, so he never really got a look in when he came over, but you could tell he had something special and he has really matured.

“If you ask anyone, it looks like he has been in the team for a number of years. He is confident, technically he is great, he fits in and physically he doesn’t look like a 20-year-old.

“I think the boss has done really well with him because he brought him in, brought him out and then put him into the team.

“You have to give credit to the boss as well because, at a club like Arsenal, you are looking to win things, finish top four, get Champions League, win competitions, and to play a 19-year-old and keep your faith in him week in, week out… [Iwobi] has repaid him well,” he concluded.

Guardiola can depend on Iheanacho, says Manchester City legend Goater

The Citizens' legend believes the Nigerian get the goals for the Manchester based outfit under manager Guardiola next season
Manchester City Legend Shaun Goater has said that incoming manager Pep Guardiola can rely on Kelechi Iheanacho rather than spending big on another striker.

The Nigerian forward has netted 13 goals and made five assists in 32 appearances in all competitions for the Citizens in his debut first team campaign.

And the 46-year-old believes that Iheanacho could save Guardiola millions of pounds if by being established into the first team fully rather than bringing in another goal poacher.

“A few months ago I used to think [that] we needed to push [Sergio] Aguero but Kelechi Iheanacho has a frightening record and is excelling in his role,” Goater told 888sport.

“He [Iheanacho] also has a good work ethic and that is a key thing Pep Guardiola will be looking for next season – a work ethic as well as producing goals.

Goater who scored 84 times during his spell for City also said Guardiola will have huge task to achieve during his spell at the Etihad.

“In his three year period he’s expected to be at the club he will win the Champions League and he will also win the league."

Iheanacho is expected to feature for Manchester City on Wednesday night against Real Madrid in the Uefa Champions League semi-final second leg. He was a 41 minute substitute in the first leg after an injury to David Silva.

Agent: Isaac Success Will Snub Atletico, PSG For Watford

Dominic Egbukwu, the agent of former Nigeria U-20s forward Isaac Success, has revealed that his player will join Watford in the summer barring any last minute hitch.

Success has attracted interest from clubs in the Champions League with Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain keen to sign the highly rated Granada forward but his agent dropped the hint in an interview with Standard.co.uk that Granada will not release him to any other club except Watford.

“Granada are not releasing him to any other club except Watford,” Egbukwu said.

“Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain have approached us. Plenty of teams want him.

“Watford and Granada are still negotiating. The wages are still being discussed. The only transfer fee Watford will have to pay is a 10 per cent sell-on clause to BJ Foundation Academy [his first club in Nigeria].”

Success has caught the eye in La Liga this season and scored six goals in a struggling side who are fifth from bottom.

From a Nigerian stand-point, EPL will give Success more visibility. He will almost certainly be a starter in Watford.

Nigerians watch more EPL than liga so his exploits will be recognised.

However, I do not know if it will be the best from a development perspective.

I don't believe the story that both PSG and Atletico Madrid were interested in him. Why will he choose Watford ahead of any of those?

Maybe both clubs weren't that interested. Enquiries can sometimes be just that. Enquiry without bids.

Bellerin's improvement was more remarkable last season (2014/2015) where he permanently displaced Mathew Debuchy.
Bellerin's improvement for this season can not be comapared with last season. Infact his performances in our last 5-6 matches have been average.
If u recall how Iwobi started this season, he was initially a CapitalOne Cup or FA Cup sub. But presently Alex Iwobi has broken into the starting lineup of Arsenal. He is now ahead of the likes of Joel Campbel, Oxlade Chmberlain and Theo Walcot. Displacing these 3 Arsenal horses is no mean achievement more so for a player that just got promoted and started the season as sub in Cup matches.

Iheanacho started the season ahead of Iwobi in terms of rating but just in April Iwobi was rated as the second best young player in the EPL just behind Marco Rashford.

Alex Iwobi is the most improved Arsenal player for the 2015/2016 season.

I personally prefer Musa to stay away from the Olympics and tidy up his Leicester move.

The way Leicester plays will really suit Musa's style of play. We need our Super Eagles players to play in competitive leagues and the EPL would be a good one for Musa and Nigeria would really benefit from it.

As for the Olympics team, we will not miss Musa if players like Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi and Stanley Dimgba would be available. Oghenekaro Etebor and Kelechi Iheanacho are also deadly from the wings. Isaac Success and Imoh Ezekiel have also shown they can perform creditably well from the wings. So let us spare that over aged winger slot for a more critical position like the DMF or CB.

Heard Walcott is out, Mahrez been worked on, Giroud, Sturridge been worked on, Per and Gabriel to the bench, Bentia been worked on.

Note my source I quite reliable but has been wrong before.

@ Bolded, well then.

Walcott's exit highly welcomed. Mahrez would be a good addition. I personally want Giroud out and I dnt see Strurridge move as a good one as just like Welbeck he is too injury prone. Can't we go for Harry Kane?

I feel we can keep Gabriel and give out Per.

By and Large I feel securing Mahrez may just temporarily send Iwobi to the bench. However, I still feel he will get a fair share of games more as subs and Cup games. But I trust Iwobi would take up the challenge and fight back for a starting line up. If he can displace the likes of Walcott, Cambell and "the Ox", he is not far from "being there" wink.

Leicester City will be hypocrites if they because of the Olympics not sign Musa. Does it mean they won't release any of their players if they are invited for their national teams?

I wonder ooooo. They should sign him but still do the needful please. I want Musa to go to EPL and prove some pundits wrong. #Musa#AllTheWay#
