You are so correct, the NFF shouldn't beg him they should force him to bring those boys back, what he did was an insult to Nigeria as a whole, he basically said our league trophy ain't sheet. For an Enyimba player to be treated like this is embarrassing, this is the biggest and most successful club in our history. Their fans drove all the way to Lagos, why not let them see and thank their favorite players one last time.
Enyimba has already won d league. so why must they insist on playing a ceremonial game when there are bigger fishes to fry. Anyway. I'll miss Etor Daniel, but his position, let another take.

yea that's what we always say they can be replaced. Same boys who suffered in Congo with the coach now he turns his back on them. No loyalty in this country. Sokari is the definition of servant to Nigerian football anywhere we needed him he was there and he performed. Our population is our biggest hindrance because it allows people treat others like crap, there is always a replacement but the question remains, is it good?

Forget Success. Not when his Granada is battling relegation.City will nt release Iheanacho and I doubt Awoniyi' availability also. Now, this y I am nt happy with Siasia for d dropping of Kingsley Sokari and Daniel Etor. This duo were instrumental to our AAG bronze medal. He is further depleting a below par team.

Awoniyi will be there, he has only played one game for his on loan club and Man City can stop kidding themselves, there is no plan for Iheanacho they should just release him.

EXCLUSIVE: Nigeria name final U23 AFCON squad

Nigeria have named a final 21-man squad for the 2015 U23 AFCON, which starts on Saturday in Dakar, Senegal, and which will also be used as qualifying tournament for next year’s Rio Olympics.

Coach Samson Siasia has listed four overseas-based professionals with the rest of the squad drawn from the Nigeria league.

The pros are strikers Taiwo Awoniyi from German second division side FSV Frankfurt, Junior Ajayi of Tunisian club CS Sfaxien, Isaac success from La Liga side Granada as well as midfielder Azubuike Okechukwu, who is based in Turkey.

There are no players for seven-time champions Enyimba after the coach dropped Kingsley Sokari and Etor Daniel for insisting on leaving training camp to play a final league game with their club in Lagos.

There is also no room for any member of the victorious Golden Eaglets from the U17 FIFA World Cup in Chile with goal king Victor Osimhen the only of the Eaglets who was in training camp in The Gambia after four of them including skipper Kelechi Nwakali were called up.

As many as 12 players on this squad were not at the recent All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville, where Nigeria’s Dream Team VI placed third at the expense of the host team.

Nigeria will begin their campaign on Sunday against Mali in Mbour.

They will also battle Egypt on December 2 in Mbour and three days later play their final group B match against Algeria in Dakar.

The top three teams will qualify automatically for next year’s Olympics in Rio.

The full squad:

Goalkeepers: Emmanuel Daniel (Enugu Rangers), Yusuf Mohammed (Kano Pillars), Emmanuel Iwu (Heartland)

Defenders: Sincere Seth (Supreme Court FC), Seun Oduduwa (Nath Boys), Zaharadeen Bello (Kano Pillars), Seun Olubayo (Sunshine Stars), Chizoba Amaefule(Dolphins), Ebuka Iroha (Diamond Football Academy)

Siasia names 12 new players for U23 AFCON

Usman Mohammed (right) missed the AAG but will feature at the U23 AFCON

Nigeria coach Samson Siasia has made a dozen changes to his squad to the recent All Africa Games for the U23 AFCON in Senegal, which starts in Dakar on Saturday.

Nigeria finished third at the AAG in Congo Brazzaville and an unimpressed Siasia vowed to make changes to his squad for the U23 AFCON, which will serve as qualifying tournament for the 2016 Rio Olympics as well.

From the AAG, the coach has dropped ex-skipper Erhun Obanor, Kingsley Sokari, Etor Daniel and Mustapha Abdullahi, while Umar Aminu’s Turkish club blocked him from the competition in Senegal.

In their place, Warri Wolves forwards Kufre Ebong and Stanley Dimgba as well as Nasarawa United midfielder Bature Yaro and Godspower Aniefiok from Kano Pillars have now made the final 21-man cut.

FC Taraba midfielder Usman Mohammed is also available after he failed to make it to Congo due to Super Eagles engagement.

Already it has been reported that Nigeria U20 defender Zaharadeen Bello, Heartland goalkeeper Emmanuel Iwu, ex-Dolphins defender Chizoba Amaefule and Seun Olubayo from Sunshine Stars are among the fresh faces on the squad.

Nigeria open their AFCON campaign on Sunday against Mali in the tourist town of Mbour.

Egypt and Algeria are the other teams in Group B.

Nigeria U23 skipper hits The Gambia training camp

Nigeria U23 skipper Azubuike Okechuwu in his days at Niger Tornadoes

Nigeria U23 team captain Azubuike Okechukwu has departed Turkey for the team's training camp in The Gambia ahead of the U23 AFCON to be hosted in Senegal from Saturday.

The Yeni Malatyaspor of Turkey midfielder, who missed the All Africa Games bronze medal game due to injury, left Turkey Monday morning for the Dream Team VI training camp in Banjul.

He is one of four foreign-based pros on Nigeria final squad for the championship which will serve as a qualifier for next year’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The other pros on the 21-man squad are Taiwo Awoniyi, Junior Ajayi and Isaac Success.

Okechukwu’s manager Ahmet Arslan, who saw the player off, informed that he left for The Gambia with great confidence.

"Azubuike left Turkey for Gambia this morning to join the Nigeria U23 team preparing for CAF U23 competition. I took him to the airport to catch his flight,” said the agent.

"He has been doing well for Yeni and was at his best on Sunday for the team in a league game which they won."

Yeni have moved to 13th place on the 18-team Turkish second division with 14 points from 12 matches.

If Chima Akas is good enough to put Elderson Echiejile of AS Manoco on the Super Eagles bench I see no reason y he shouldn't make this squad. Or is Siasia purnishing him also for being with the Super Eagles instead of his "10 days training programme?".

He should have also dropped Awoniyi and Success for not being part of his "10 days training Programme".

This team is so below par. Just imagine that we still have players like: Simon Moses, Saviour Godwin, Kelechi Iheanacho, Musa Yahaya, Musa Mohamed, William Troost-Ekong, Imoh Ezekiel, Kingsley Madu, Kenneth Omeruo, Aaron Samuel, Elderson Esiti, Kenedy Otigba, Abdul Ajagun, Michael Olaitan, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi and others that fall within this age -grade. Well, let us qualify first and then the real DREAM TEAM VI will emerge after-wards.
I blame CAF for the timing of this qualifiers else we would have easily produced one of the best squads in the tourney.

If Issac Success wouldn't be available, definitely he wouldn't have been on the list! Siasia only invited the Foreign Pros that guarantee their respective availability for the Competition!
Mind you it's not on the FIFA Calendar, thus NFF has no right to force any of the Foreign Clubs to release any Nigerian Player(s) in their respective Teams for the Competition!
And for those who are castigating Siasia or criticising the Final List, it won't a bit make any difference! We need to support whoever is selected for the National Team. It's an opportunity to give "chance" to all good legs in Nigeria. It's an opportunity to discover more talents in the Local League!
I wish the Team a "Success" in Senegal!

I'm okay with the Final "Official" 21-man list for the Caf U-23 Afcon based on the talents we had available for this "outside-Fifa-window tournament".

Hope Caf works to make this tournament "Fifa-scheduled/Fifa-windowed" with respect to the future.

Isaac Success will make it to Senegal. There seem to be an understanding with Granada. Thanks goodness for that. *smiles*

We knew we wouldn't have "all" of our best U-23 talents for this Nov/Dec Olympic qualifying tournament.

So let's focus on the Olympic ticket with these ones. I believe they'll deliver coz they're far stronger than the AAG squad "on paper".

I believe after we must have secured one of the three Olympic tickets up for grabs, then shall the Siasia led-technical crew settle down and draw up a list of Nigeria's "BEST OF THE BEST" U-23 Super Talents to make up the Dream Team for Rio 2016.

We know who they are. A couple of them are even in this Senegal 2015 U-23 Afcon-bound Squad.

So for now, it's first things first...........*smiles*

We expect this squad to qualify us and we expect most of them to b replaced with our best legs. There is nothing like justice or no justice. Only d best legs should represent Nigeria at the Olympics and most of those best are nt currently in dat squad.

soon u are indirectly telling me that after monkey work finish.. then baboon go come chop?

what if they qualify and the coach decides to retain them? courtesy of their togetherness and the fact that they have mastered their tactics?
Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by TheSuperNerd(m): 9:01pm On Nov 23, 2015
You don't seem to get it do you? *smiles*

Let's first secure the Olympic Ticket. After that, Siasia will draw up a list of All our top U-23 talents for Rio including all the players involved in qualifying us for Rio.

Next step is invitation for camping which should be at the close of the European leagues' 2015/16 season. (The homebased lads' camping will usually start earlier).

**Most of our Best U-23 Talents aren't available here. Some are but most aren't.

Siasia will then pick the "BEST OF THE BEST" U-23 SUPER TALENTS THAT WILL MAKE UP OUR "DREAM TEAM".

It will be based on "Merit" and not based on who qualified us. If a player at senegal 2015 is better than those(not available now but) invited ahead of Rio, then fine!!!! He'll make it. IF NOT, HE'LL BE DROPPED. It's that simple.

So in conclusion, we work with what we have now for Senegal 2015. Get the Olympic ticket and come home victorious. Then our focus shift to Rio.

THEN WE CAN NOW ASSEMBLE A TRULY AWESOME "DREAM TEAM" SIMILAR IN QUALITY TO THE ATLANTA '96 SQUAD.
**Thanks goodness, The Olympics soccer event is one of Fifa's most highly-rated Competitions and European clubs must comply this time though some will want to delay due to early pre-season camping BUT THAT WOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM COZ FIFA RULES ARE CLEAR ON THIS**

Note»»» Siasia wants to succeed and won't hang onto a player blindly in a position when he has "far better options/talents" in that position.

See how he dropped some talents from the AAG squad such as Mustapha Abdullahi, Erhun Obanor, etc,...... (apart from the Sokari, Etor drama).

Even Usman Mohammed is a direct "super" replacement for Sokari. Though I would have loved to see both of them in the squad.

**smiles**

Well, there you have it Sir............*smiles*

You're not far from the Truth at all. The present U-23 team, FROM A BROAD PERSPECTIVE, boasts many of Nigeria's and Africa's finest young super talents.

I need not call names for we know them and more........*smiles*

Let's believe and pray we qualify. Because I forsee the rise of "Nigeria's next golden generation" taking a new dimension @ Rio 2016.

Note: these "Rio 2016 talents" will be drawn from the UAE 2013 All-conquering U-17 Class, the Senegal 2015 Caf AYC U-20 class, the NZ 2015 U-20 Class, other top young talents under 23 yrs from the NPFL and NNL AND a few other "top" talents scattered all over Europe (that didn't pass through our U-17s and U-20s).

**The 2015 U-17 class, the 2017 U-20 class and subsequent U-17/U-20 classes and "other top talents from other sources" will execute the 2020 Olympics.** #LookingFurtherAhead. *smiles*

By 2020, the Rio 2016 Class will "undisputably" be the central core of Our Super Eagles in addition to other top talents coming through our age grade teams (u-17s, u-20s and U-23 Olympic teams) like The 2015 u-17 class, the 2017 u-17/u-20 classes and beyond........ plus top talents that didn't pass through our age-grade teams................. *smiles*

There's A "Next" Golden Generation Rising...........

*smiles* and we can "sustain" this "flow"

This is not any case of monkey dey work and Baboon dey chop. The national team belongs to d Federal Republic of Nigeria. They are in d national team to represent Nigeria and not to serve themselves. Nigeria deserves the best and only d best available should don our national jerseys. They have to prove that they are better than d Europe based prospects when we qualify for Olympics and d camp is thrown open again.

And to tactics, take a crop of players from ur street put them together and teach them tactics for 3yrs then take them to play a Nigerian local league side and see the outcome. If there is no quality in ur team tactics will nt get u anywhere. U neef quality players to execute any good tactics.

I know Siasia very well. He will go for the the best when we get d Olympics ticket, nt considering who qualifies us or nt.

Usman Mohammed (second left) and Segun Oduduwa (first left) will feature for Nigeria at U23 AFCON in Senegal
by Samm Audu

We profile the 21 players who will from Sunday in Mbour, Senegal, fight for Nigeria to qualify for next year’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Goalkeepers
Emmanuel Daniel (Enugu Rangers)
He is the team’s first-choice goalkeeper and so too for his club Rangers after his controversial transfer from Shooting Stars. The tall shot stopper is great at stopping penalties and was on the squad to the 2013 AYC in Algeria, but a knee injury prevented him from seeing action.

Yusuf Mohammed (Kano Pillars)
He has been the cover for Daniel after he toppled Abiodun Akande of Shooting Stars for the AAG. His new-found confidence has helped him play more regularly for hometown club Pillars this season.

Emmanuel Iwu (Heartland)
Young goalkeeper who has established himself at Heartland in the past two seasons. His agility makes up for his lack of inches and he will most likely be third-choice in Senegal.

Defenders
Sincere Seth (Supreme Court FC)
An all-action right fullback who should catch the eye in Senegal because he is solid in defending as well as when he goes forward.

Segun Oduduwa (Nath Boys)
Athletic central defender who has grown into becoming a pillar in the heart of the team’s back four. He is very adventurous and his confidence is admirable particularly as he is from non-league Nath Boys of Lagos, who produced Eagles ace Wilfred Ndidi.

Zaharadeen Bello (Kano Pillars)
Clever if not athletic central defender who has made his Nigeria league debut for hometown club Kano Pillars, who prefer to play him as a defensive midfielder.

Seun Olubayo (Sunshine Stars)
The stocky but skillful player is comfortable as a leftback or on the left side of midfield. He trained briefly with the Nigeria U20s last year. He has been known to weigh in with his own fair share of goals for Sunshine. This will be his first major international outing.

Chizoba Amaefule(Dolphins)
Former Flying Eagles central defender Class of 2013. He has featured for Dolphins before a recent loan stint in Qatar. Calm under pressure with great professional attitude.

Ebuka Iroha (Diamond Football Academy)
Younger brother of former Eagles star Ben Iroha. He has been on the wings of the U23s before he finally made the cut for this U23 AFCON.

Midfielders
Ndifreke Effiong (Abia Warriors)
Versatile player who could play in defence, midfield or attack. He is strong on the ball, packs a good shot and knows his way to goal. His enterprise and versatility very crucial for this team as the competition gets tougher.

Usman Mohammed (FC Taraba)
Highly-rated midfielder who could play from defence or attack. He missed the AAG because he was involved then with the Super Eagles. An exciting addition to the squad to Senegal.

Tiongoli Tobara (Bayelsa United)
The Bayelsa ace has finally got his chance to prove himself after he was overlooked for the AAG. Will be now take it in Senegal?

Bature Yaro (Nasarawa United)
Hard working midfielder who has shone with the CHAN Eagles, scoring one of the goals when Nigeria eliminated Burkina Faso to qualify for next year’s CHAN in Rwanda. Such is his class that he is being considered for regular playing time with the Super Eagles.

Oghenekaro Etebo (Warri Wolves)
The heartbeat of this team – when he plays, the team play. He creates and scores goals and has already been capped at full international level by Nigeria. His biggest undoing though remains his niggling battle with a knee complaint.

Azubuike Okechukwu (Yeni Matalatyaspor/Turkey)
Team skipper and defensive midfielder, who now plies his trade in Turkey alongside Sunday Mba. He has a big engine and he is very comfortable on the ball.

Godspower Aniefiok (Kano Pillars)
Another defensive midfielder who has made a success of his move from hometown club Akwa United to Kano Pillars this past season. He may be a little slow on the ball, but he fetches and carries the ball to attack for the team.

Stanley Dimgba (Warri Wolves)
Flying winger who has established himself at league runners-up Warri wolves after transferring from Kwara United. Over the years he has proved he is a class act and he now has a chance to show what he can do on the international scene as well.

Forward

Kufre Ebong (Warri Wolves)
Another player who has made the most of his move from hometown club Akwa United to Wolves. He is the only out-and-out striker from the domestic league as the other strikers on the squad are based abroad.

Junior Ajayi (CS Sfaxien/Tunisia)
Talented centre-forward who scored three goals at the AAG in Congo Brazzaville. His goals for the Dream Team have earned him a lucrative deal at Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien from where he hopes to storm Europe.

Taiwo Awoniyi (FSV Frankfurt/Germany)
The gangling striker widely compared to the legendary Rashidi Yekini is a Liverpool loanee at German second division side FSV Frankfurt. He featured at the FIFA U20 World Cup earlier this year after he emerged as one of the stars when Nigeria won a record fourth U17 World Cup in Abu Dhabi two years ago. He is returning to Senegal, where he scored three goals as the Flying Eagles won the 2015 AYC in March.

Isaac Success (Granada CF/Spain)
Big, bullish striker Success was the star of the 2013 U17 CAF Championship in Morocco, but a hamstring denied him the chance to shine at the U17 World Cup months later. However, his class has shone through in the Spanish La Liga, where he has now scored three goals for his modest club Granada, who have extended his contract.

Results of Nigeria's U-23s Practice games/Friendlies so far in Gambia camping for the 2015 Caf U-23 Afcon:

*Saturday, Nov.21» Real De Banjul FC 0-3 Nigeria U-23s

Brief Game report: Oghenekaro Etebo with a hattrick. One from the penalty spot. Nigeria dominated but missed many chances. It ended 1-0 in the first half. The Introduction of Osimhen, Dimgba and Tongbara increased the tempo and Nigeria got 2 more goals through lethal attacking midfielder/forward, Etebo. Would have been 7-0 as final score.

*Monday, Nov.23» Gambia U-20s 1-1 Nigeria U-23s

Brief Game report:
Despite Nigeria's early dominance, First half ended goalless. With the second half Introduction of Osimhen for Kufre Ubong, Ajayi for Tongbara, and Bature Yaro for Usman Mohammed Nigeria looked more dangerous and were rewarded with a penalty after a foul on Godspower Anefiok.

Captain of the day, Oghenekaro Etebo stepped up to score his 4th goal in two friendlies in The Gambia.

Later in the game, Nigeria gave away a penalty through Ndifreke Effiong's handball. And the Gambians equalised. Nigeria still dominated but the Gambians stood resolute in defence and we also missed further good chances.

I believe the team will play a third and final game on wednesday Nov.25.

Meanwhile, 2 foreign pros are in camp right now: Junior Ajayi of CS Sfaxien (Tunisia) and Team's skipper, Azubuike Okechukwu of Yeni Matalatyaspor (Turkey).

One foreign pro confirms today as his arrival: Taiwo Awoniyi (Liverpool loanee at FSV Frankfurt of Germany). **IN FACT HE HAS HIT CAMP ALREADY**

Meaning by the end of today, we'll have "20 out of 21" ready to go at Senegal 2015 U-23 Afcon.

One Final pro and player being awaited is "ISAAC 'The Beast' Success" of Granada, Spain. I don't know what this looks like but I haven't heard anything about his itinerary.

Or does Granada plan to release him to us after La Liga games on the 28th/29th of November?

P.S: I think Success might join us from our 2nd game in Senegal. Or............. I just don't know.

**VERY INTERESTING BREAKING NEWS**

Moments ago, I was so unsure of Success' availability. Well, it's been reported that "INDEED" Granada will not release him (honestly, I thought a miracle might take place with Success' name on the final list....... Seems not). Of the 4 Golden Eaglets players who Siasia invited, only "ONE" reported to camp. Well, That "ONE" is Success' replacement. **subject to final verification**

Osimhen late replacement
for Success on U23 AFCON
squad
by Staff Reporter
Tuesday Nov 24, 2015. 12:29

FIFA U17 goal king Victor Osimhen has been
made a late replacement for Granada striker
Isaac Success on Nigeria squad to the U23
AFCON in Senegal.

Success was originally listed on the final
squad submitted and Nigeria may now have
to pay a fine to the Confederation of African
Football (CAF) for this late change.

Osimhen was top scorer at the U17 World
Cup in Chile with 10 goals and sources have
suggested a top NFF official was behind his
inclusion particularly as coach Samson
Siasia could not guarantee the availability of
Success, who has established himself at
struggling La Liga side Granada.

Osimhen is reportedly a target of several
top European clubs with his agent saying
Arsenal have shown the most interest thus
far.

Well, I believed Mancity was even more likely to release Iheanacho than Granada to release Success.

As it is, we have to rely on Awoniyi and Ajayi to do the job. It will also be a great experience for Victor Osimhen. By and large, I believe Awoniyi/Ajayi/Osimhen will represent us well. Good Luck to the Team.

I hope Success would leave Granada as soon as they dip into relegation water for a better club in Europe preferably in Premiership.
