Sauron
Point of Correction. He is KING RONALDO.
That guy is from another planet.

United seem to have them in abundance.
At present, we have the EPL with us, the UCL is with us, The European and world footballer of the year is with us, the World club cup is on its way down to OT. By february, the Carling cup will be hibernating at OT. We should be planning to open another room for trophies and make it a tourist centre where coaches, players and fans of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, BAYERN MUNICH etc can come have a look at the abundance of trophies in our cabinet for a token. What u can't have and can't buy, at least u can appreciate.

~Sauron~:

He has achieved lots for club and country. . . . . .He made the PFA team in 2006/7 alongside Didier Drogba as the best strikers in the league.
That was his debut season and to think he played for SPURS(not a member of the BIG 4). . . That was remarkable.
What has Cesc Fabregas won for Arsenal? He is yet to wear a medal around his neck at Arsenal. . . .Berbatov won the Carling Cup, didn't he??
For country, Bulgaria is a small footballing nation so u cannot expect Berbatov to win anything like the world cup or Euros.
Shevchenko, Jari Litmanen, George Weah and Luis Figo won nuthing for their country but they are still top draw plauers.
Now this is laughable grin grin This must be the joke of the year are you going to sit there and compare Berba-sulk to Sheva,Luis Figo and George Weah shocked shocked i think you would make a good clown
Litmanen - UCL winner
Luis Figo - La Liga winner Double UCL Champion
Shevchenko - Double UCL winner,Scudetto winner
George Weah - World,European and African player of the year

Berb-sulk - Carling cup winner tongue tongue

FYI Cesc won the F.A Cup in 05 so he has a medal on his neck and seriously you need to stop that Berba-god business what did your bible tell you about Idolatry?Berba-dog is more appropriate

As for your definition of creativity since when did a central midfielder have to score to be creative?the most important stats here are the assists goals are just a bonus and in the assists department Cesc beats every player in the Premiership hands-down
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by Nobody: 4:38pm On Dec 08, 2008
Tempted to tell you Gunners to stop booing your own players before you come here and tell us what's wrong with ours.

Anyway,Mancs,we're entering crunch time.
We play Spurs on Saturday without Evra & Rooney and possibly Ronaldo as well. Before the loss of those players,it was a difficult game.Three points is crucial and necessary.
If we fail to win,by the time we return from Japan to a congested fixture period-hopefully with the trophy because United don't seem to do well in these tournaments-,we could be double figures behind the leaders.

What do you all think?

@Emperoh
Ruud van Nistlerooy,Louis Saha,Dwight Yorke,Teddy Sheringham, didn't take as long as Berba is doing to settle into United
Ruud himself went to Madrid and became an instant hit.
I don't see why Berba can't be a hit.Maybe not instantly, but he's had enough time to settle in.6 goals and 6 asists (against who?) isn't enough. He needs to be scoring in every other game. That's why we paid 30 million pounds.Let the midfielders worry about assists.

Team quality is a big difference here. . . . . . .U cannot compare Tottenham to Ajax(95), Figo(Barcelona & Madrid), Weah(Milan) and Sheva(Milan).
There's a big difference here, amigo!!!!
To win these big titles, u have to play in a big team. . . . . . . Had Carrick refused to move to OT in 2006, would he have won 2 EPLs and 1 UCL?
Do the math and get back to us. . . . . . The fact that Berbatov hasn't won the Champions League does not mean he aint better than Guily of Barcelona.

This is like saying SAHA won the UCL. . . . . . .How many games did he play that season??
Was he directly involved?? Did he do anything spectacular that season??
I can also say Messi won the UCL in 2006 despite missing in the Q-finals, S-finals and the FINAL. grin

As for your definition of creativity since when did a central midfielder have to score to be creative?the most important stats here are the assists goals are just a bonus and in the assists department Cesc beats every player in the Premiership hands-down

The most important stat is ASSISTS and NUMBER OF GOALS. . . . . .
Ronaldo is a midfielder like Cesc and he was able to score plenty of goals.
Frank Lampard is a midfielder and he outscored all the strikers in Chelsea for 2 seasons or there about.
Stevie G has outscored Kuyt and whoever for how many seasons now??
U need to chip in the goals to be recognised as a world class talent(something Cesc lacks in high magnitude).

Are you kidding me once again?Cesc had a decent run of games that season and even became our youngest scorer in history and for your information he featured in that F.A Cup Final he was a legit player for us that season

Number of Goals is not an important stat for a midfielder i repeat!! How many goals did Zizou score?even Ronaldinho and the likes as a central midfielder your primary duty is to create chances the goals are secondary and a bonus
Cesc chipped in 13 or 15 odd goals if you want to add the UCL qualifiers last season and if i am not mistaken this dude is still only 21 how many goals a season did Lampard and Gerrard score per season when they where his age?
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by dayokanu(m): 6:47pm On Dec 08, 2008
You dont have to be in a top team to make your mark!!

Ballack made his by taking unfancied Leverkusen to the CL finals and dour Germany to the World cup finals.

Deco made his name by taking unfancied Porto

Guily did himself a lot of favour by taking Monaco

Berba played at Leverkusen and he had the opportunity to do great things.

Everyone remembers the Leverkuse of Ballack but no one does about Berbatov's.

Sheva made his name at Kiev with great performances in the CL against big names like Barca and Real.

Before they were stopped by the Munich boys

But all Berba does is to stroll round the field and do two fancy flicks in 90 minutes

Berba played the UEFA cup with Tottenham and he has his chance.

Berbatov has more quality than Guily, Gilardino, Inzaghi and many other players that have won the Champions league.
I compared Berbatov to Sheva, Litmanen and Weah because of the country they all play for.
No good player can win anything for small countries. Never have, never will.

Cesc was nuthing in 2004/5. .Vieira was still around then. Cesc became a regular after PV left the GAYnners and took ur luck of winning titles away.
If Cesc is so good, why hasn't he won anything of note since Vieira left. . . . . .Berbatov won something in a smaller club for SPURS.
He scored at Wembley to put CHELSEA away in a Carling Cup final. . . . . .That alone should tell u Berbagod is CLASS.

Zizou and Dinho does not score too much but if u add their assists and their number of goals together, they become chunky.
CREATIVITY = Assists + Goals. . . . .any football analyst would tell you that and this is why those stats are recorded these days.
U cannot be creative without adding assists and goals together. When Gerrard and Lampard were 21 does not even count here.
Fabregas played 100 games for ARSENAL as a TEENAGER. It is not due to his skills, it was circumstances that led to it.
Would he have played that many games at Man Utd, Chelsea or Liverpool?? No way in hell.

Where was Zidane at 21?  Ronaldinho at 21? Makelele at 21??
Does that necessarily make Cesc better than them??
What has Cesc achieved since he became a regular at Arsenal. . . . . .He is the most over-rated player i know.
This season, he has only 1 goal and 2 assists in as many as 13 league games and he is ur best player. . . .
Does that stat make him prodigious??

This statement is retarded. . . . .

Take a look at the players u have listed. . . . . .All of them have played in the Champions League.
When was the last time Tottenham played in the Champions league?
Porto were Portugese Champion(Big club)
Leverkusen were 2nd as at the time Ballack was there(Berba was still a yung'un then).
Monaco was 2nd when Guily captained em to UCL final so they were a big club in France prior to that. . .

So how can Tottenham stay toe to toe with all these teams??
Berbatov is a 20-goal per season striker and he is very valuable.
His international record and league stats speak for itself
Whether he strolls or flicks or whatever, who cares??

Evra is missing that match due to 5 yellow cards and not the 4 match ban. The ban takes effect from the 22nd of December. So that means he misses 5 matches.

Rooney also misses the match due to 5 yellow cards(He also missed the match at white hart lane last season due to 5 cards).

Ronaldo should play if he shakes off the knock he got in the last game.

Goalkeepers: Van der Sar, PIG, Foster;
Defenders: Neville, Evra, Ferdinand, Vidic, O'Shea, Evans, Rafael;
Midfielders: Ronaldo, Anderson, Giggs, Park, Carrick, Nani, Scholes, Fletcher, Gibson;
Strikers: Berbatov, Rooney, Tevez, Welbeck

Our outstanding matches have been given dates.
We play Wigan on the 14th of January(3 days after Chelsea visit OT), provided neither Man U nor Wigan is invilved in the FA cup 3rd round replay.
Fulham on the other hand visit OT on 17th February.

I think u suffer from the tuberculosis of the sensory neurones coupled with ACUTE down syndrome
.

This is from Berba's wiki(your favourite internet tool).

A run of nine goals in 11 games in 2000–01 was enough to persuade Bayer Leverkusen to sign Berbatov in January 2001. Berbatov had a slow start to his Leverkusen career with just 16 goals in his first 67 appearances for the club. He did however play a crucial role in the Champions League during his first season with the club scoring a memorable solo effort against Lyon with an excellent piece of skill, as well as a goal against Liverpool in the quarter finals. He also played a part in the final against Real Madrid coming on as a substitute for Thomas Brdaric after 38 minutes.

In 2001–02 Leverkusen were runners-up in the Fußball-Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal. During the 2002–03 Bundesliga season Berbatov established his place as the first-choice forward at Bayer Leverkusen but it was not until the 2003–04 season that he really began to shine scoring 16 goals in 24 starts. The following two seasons saw him go from strength to strength, netting another 46 goals including five in the Champions League 2004–05 raising awareness of his talent and generating interest from teams throughout Europe.

Was Berba ever the top player at Leverkusen the way
Deco was for Porto,
Sheva was for Kiev
Guily was for Monaco and Ballack was for Leverkusen.
In leverkusen 2002 Ballack, Ze Roberto, Schneider, Placente, Neuville, and Lucio were more important

Later Franca, Juan, Novotny, Ramelow, Krzynówek were the real deal and Berba was just a support cast
