Packed with vitamins and minerals

Bananas are high in fiber and contain several antioxidants. 1 banana (regular size) equals (126 grams).

They are low in protein and fat.

The carbohydrates in green, unripe bananas are mostly starch and resistant starch, a type of indigestible fiber we’ll discuss later.

The flavor of the fruit becomes sweeter as it ripens, while the fiber content decreases

Potassium is an essential mineral for heart health, particularly blood pressure control.

Despite its importance, only a small percentage of the population consumes enough potassium.

Bananas are a convenient source of potassium, with a medium-sized banana (126 grams) providing 10% of the daily value.

A potassium-rich diet can aid in the reduction of blood pressure.

Moreover, older research and animal studies show that people who consume a lot of potassium have a 27 percent lower risk of heart disease.

Furthermore, bananas provide 8% of the daily value for magnesium, another mineral important for heart health.

Magnesium deficiency has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, and blood fat levels.

As a result, getting enough of the mineral through your diet or supplements is critical.

Politics / 2023: APC Zones Presidency To South by 19Ebisco: 4:15pm On Feb 23, 2022
The rulling All Progressive Congress (APC) has zoned its 2023 Presidential ticket to the Southern geopolitical zone. The party arrived at the decision after a meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and 19 Governors elected under the platform of the APC at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.

Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai said the party stakeholders decided that all offices occupied by northerners in the last eight years will go to the south and vice versa.

This according to him, “is a very simple, equitable and fair formula.”

Consequently, the office of chairman of the party which has been occupied by Southerners since its inception, will now go to the North and the presidential slot to the South.

Political stakeholders in the South will then decide between the Southwest and Southeast which region has a better claim to the presidency.

Note that the Southwest has had a shot at the number one seat in the country in the Presidency of Olusegun Obasanjo while the Southeast is yet to do so since the return of Democratic rule in 1999.

Which region do you think the president should come from? Add your opinion in comments section below and kindly share and like this piece.........

Romance / 7 Things Every Woman Thinks Before, During & After Love Making by 19Ebisco: 7:15pm On Jul 03, 2020
Women are faced with different types of thoughts once it comes down to sex. It could be anything from scary to downright funny. Most times, they find it hard to vocalize these thoughts. Here are some of the things every woman, thinks, or has thought about at some point in her life during sex:

1. ‘What is he thinking about?’

The common thought after sex (probably for both sexes) is about what the other is thinking. For some women, these thoughts could involve things like, ‘Did he enjoy it?’ While for other women the thoughts may revolve around things like, ‘Could he be wanting a round 2?’. ‘I wish he lasted longer.’

2. ‘Is he asleep already?’

Its very easy for men to fall asleep after sex, and for some women too. Then again, when the arm a woman has been resting against hasn’t moved for a while, or the cuddle grip around her waist is still tense, its highly likely the thoughts in her head are plain and simple – has he fallen asleep already?

3. ‘What’s for breakfast tomorrow?’

No matter how good sex is, a lot of women can’t rid their brain off of their daily chores, especially if they have responsibilities such as young kids. After some fun nighttime stretching, it is quite likely that a woman deep in thought right next to her husband on the bed is thinking of nothing more than what her children might have for breakfast or what to give them to school for lunch.

4. ‘Do I need to trim a bit down there?’

Most women want to please their men in bed. It’s also no secret that men are moved by what they see, even if you have been married for 20 years. A lot of times, sex may have fallen into a schedule for some couples, and a woman’s thought before the big night is if she needs to have a trim or not.

5. ‘Am I going to have an orgasm now?’

Having an orgasm for some women, is like finding the proverbial golden fleece, in simpler terms it may never happen. That doesn’t mean that they don’t think about it. Most women permit their minds to wander in this direction, especially when their husband is touching and hitting them in all the right places.

6. ‘I wish he could last longer. Sigh’

Imagine you’re hungry, and you’re given 5 spoons of rice, there is no way you are going to be satisfied. Same thing applies for sex, some women’s hunger for sex (don’t worry, you’re not a sex freak) is high, and most men do not take the time to tune into this, that they end up not lasting long enough to satisfy their women. So, women, end up filling unsatisfied and having thoughts on how they wish their husbands could last a bit longer in bed.

7. ‘I hope my body looks attractive in this position’

You’re both having a good time, and all of a sudden he moves you into a different position, and you are self conscious about your tummy hanging out, or your boobs looking like two fallen heroes?. These thoughts are normal, but give your self some credit, you’re the mother of his children, the woman he has been with for how many years? He loves every curve and flaw you have.

Celebrities / My Relationship With Teddy A Started As A Game – Bambam by 19Ebisco: 7:27am On Aug 10, 2019
BamBam talked about her engagement to Teddy A and how real it is in a new interview she granted, just after it became a major topic on social media last weekend.

The reality show star stated that the engagement is real and also advised couples to become each other's best friend so they can know their limits and boundaries in their relationship.

“It (engagement) is real. Just like every other thing, you would see it happen. I can’t start giving (wedding) dates" she told Saturday Beats.

“If you cannot make a best friend out of your intending partner, where you know their limits and their boundaries, then you are messed up really. I am blessed that Teddy is mature, not careless, and as public figures, we know how to manage situations that seem beyond our control" she added.

BamBam also revealed that her relationship with Teddy A began as a game before fate happened.

“Fate happened to us. I can’t say it was pre-planned. He had a serious relationship that was one-year-old before I met him. He had a girlfriend he was serious with, so we did not plan to fall in love with each other. We did not know we would last this long.

"We had a very rare connection in the house. We both knew it but we kept telling ourselves ‘it’s just for the game’ but it was no game. So, I can’t predict what fate has designed. So, people should not go in there hoping to be a Teddy A and BamBam. I went to the house for a different purpose, but ended up getting Teddy as a bonus" she said.

Health / 16 Die Of Yellow Fever In Ebonyi by 19Ebisco: 6:26pm On Aug 09, 2019
No fewer than 16 persons have been confirmed dead in a fresh outbreak of the deadly viral disease, Yellow fever.

Dr Chris Achi, the Permanent Secretary Designate of the State Ministry of Health who confirmed the development to newsmen today Friday August 9th, said the outbreak occurred in Ndungele community of Izzi Local Government Area (LGA) of the state. According to Achi, the outbreak occurred since July 15, but was not reported early to the health ministry leading to the death of 16 persons before the ministry’s intervention.

“A member of the community called me one early morning to report deaths of indigenes in the community with the victims dying of same symptoms. I informed our health workers and members of the state Rapid Response Team (RRT) and when they got there, they discovered a case of yellow fever with symptoms of yellowish eyes, skin, among others. We then moved into the community, notified the Federal Ministry of Health and National Centre for Disease Control and they have been in the state for about two weeks.

“They came with drugs, vaccines and other interventions as some of the patients who could not be managed in the community’s health centre were moved to the General Hospital Iboko.

The problem about the outbreak was that our people did not believe that they will go to the hospital when they experience this yellowness of the eyes, they believe that they can be treated with local herbs that’s why we recorded causalities which should not have been” he said

Achi added that the victims were also taken to the South East Virology Centre in Abakaliki where the samples taken further proved that they died as a result of yellow fever.

Speaking on how the disease is transitted, Achi said it is caused by a type of mosquitoes called `Aedes Aepyti’, which is predominant in the tropics and sub-tropics.

“It is transmitted from person to person through mosquitoes although there are forest monkeys that transmit it. When the mosquitoes bite monkeys and bite someone in the forest, it will transmit the virus and if it bites another person, the transmission will continue,” he said.

Politics / Passengers Commend Dana Air Security Team For Professionalism by 19Ebisco: 7:46am On Apr 10, 2019
Passengers have commended the integrity and professionalism demonstrated by the Dana Air security team on discovery of valuable items forgotten onboard its aircraft. The airline in a recent statement issued by its media and communications manager, Kingsley Ezenwa said, ‘We are not surprised by the recent commendations that our security team has been getting on constant display of integrity and professionalism on and off the job. “There have been many cases of lost and recovered items like phones, ipads, huge sums of money, Nigerian passports with valid visas and lots of valuable items. We have also returned a lot of missing foreign and Nigerian passports to the immigration, embassies and even sometimes call the owners in the cases where we are able to track the passenger’s booking with authentic details. This is also one of the reasons we advise passengers to enter their correct details when booking.’’ “Recently, a passenger on one of our flight from Abuja to Lagos left a bag containing $5,000 and some other valuables.

On getting to Victoria Island, he noticed he wasn’t with the bag and dashed back to the airport, met the security team who confirmed the item was found.

He proved ownership of the item; completed necessarily documents and got his missing item back immediately,” he explained.

He thanked the security team for displaying a high level of integrity and professionalism in handling an issue that involved hard currency.

He also appreciated the staff for proving all the negative things they hear about Nigerians wrong.

Another passenger, Musa Anasemi, who forgot a Nigerian passport with a valid US visa, said he didn’t have an idea where he left the passport, but after about nine days, he decided to check with us.

He got his passport with gratitude and praises for the airline and the security staff that found the item and declared it. “We carry out our due diligence in recruitment across board and have invested heavily in training and retraining of staff.

We also try our best to keep staff happy in our little way and these are the results. “We are also glad that our staff have been able to prove to the world that some of the things they hear about us around the world are actually not true.

The safety, comfort and well-being of our guests will remain a top priority and we will continue to keep the flag flying,” he said. In 2018, Dana Air had 34 of its air passengers’ luggage missing with 32 of them recovered between January and December of same year according to a report obtained from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

The airline’s security team have been commended for not only displaying integrity but for foiling series of security threats to its aircraft.

Politics / ‘report Alleging That I Can Influence Election Tribunal Malicious’ by 19Ebisco: 7:52am On Apr 06, 2019
Senator Godswill Akpabio, has refuted reports alleging that he claimed to have the connection to influence the outcome of his petition before the election tribunal in Akwa Ibom State.

The former senate minority leader, in a statement issued by his media aide, Mr Anietie Ekong, and made available to newsmen in Uyo, described the news report as one of several fake news being peddled by his detractors to damage his reputation, adding that he never made such a statement.

Akpabio, who lost his bid to return to the Senate for a second term, is at the tribunal to challenge the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s declaration of his opponent, Chris Ekpenyong, as the winner of the just concluded senatorial election for Akwa Ibom North-west.

The statement read in part: “The attention of the Senator representing Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has been drawn to a malicious piece of fake news titled: ‘I will win at Appeal if tribunal judges refuse to perform – Akpabio,’ with an equally malicious rider, ‘says Appeal Court President in his palms.’

“We want to state categorically that Distinguished Senator Akpabio, at any forum or private discussion, never uttered any of these words mischievously ascribed to him. The article is political propaganda manufactured from the pit of hell.”

Akpabio said those who produced and circulated the story wanted to use it “to intimidate and blackmail the members of the Akwa Ibom State election tribunal and sway them from the course of justice”.

The senator said, “Our suspicion is that having accessed the quantum of unassailable evidence at the disposal of the election petition tribunal of how Senator Akpabio was robbed of his victory in the February 23 National Assembly election, these devious characters have resorted to underhand tactics to overawe the Judges from dispensing justice without fear and intimidation.

“We are of the belief that the sickening brazenness and impunity, with which the election of Senator Akpabio as Senatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) was rigged, cannot be left unchallenged.

“It is not just about Senator Godswill Akpabio, the right of the people of Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District to freely choose their leader cannot be mortgaged on any account.”

The senator said his opponents were jittery because of his confidence of victory at the tribunal.

“What the authors of this fake news seek, is the desecration of the judiciary on the altar of propaganda.

“Treating an arm of government with such disdain must be condemned by well-meaning Nigerians and lovers of democracy.

“Once again, we are confident that justice will be done as no judge worth his onions will bow to childish propaganda,” the senator said.

The former governor added that the electorate would not rallied behind Governor Wike if he had not made appreciable impact in their lives through delivery of democratic dividends.

Politics / Imo Governorship: Uche Nwosu Heads To Tribunal, Blames APC For His Loss by 19Ebisco: 8:39am On Apr 03, 2019
Son-In-law to Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha and governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the recently concluded general election, Uche Nwosu, has gone to the election petition tribunal to challenge the outcome of the poll in the state.

Nwosu, who disclosed this on Tuesday, blamed the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for losing the election to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Emeka Ihedioha.

He said APC lost the election when it refused to give him the party’s ticket, noting that the outcome of the election had shown that he was more popular than the APC governorship candidate, Hope Uzodinma.

Expressing hope he will be declared Imo governor by the tribunal, he said he was willing to form an alliance with the APC and other parties to actualise that.

“The national leadership of the APC made a mistake by not giving the party’s governorship ticket to me. We warned them against giving the ticket to Hope Uzodinma, but the leadership of the party ignored our warnings.

“The outcome of the elections has justified us. We joined the AA two months to the election and I won the governorship election if not for the manipulations.

“We also won eight seats in the state House of Assembly. Action Alliance also won two seats in the House of Representatives.

“Now that they have realised their mistake, we are ready to form alliance with APC to reclaim our mandate,” he said.

On why he is challenging the governorship election result, he said Ihedioha’s declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was an aberration.

He said, “I have petitioned the tribunal and I am sure that the issues raised which bother on the constitution cannot be swept away. I am certain that I will reclaim my mandate in no distant time.”

While Nwosu came second to Ihedioha, the APC candidate, Uzodinma came fourth behind All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate in the governorship election.

Politics / Edo Govt Shuts Secondary Schools Over Alleged Cultism by 19Ebisco: 8:15am On Apr 02, 2019
The Edo State government has ordered the closure of two secondary schools in the state with immediate effect, Ihogbe College and Oba Akenzua II.

The acting governor of the state, Philip Shaibu, gave the order on Monday following a series of alleged cult clashes involving students from the schools.

He ordered the closure during an unscheduled visit to the schools, saying the state government took the decision after a series of consultation with relevant stakeholders.

Mr Shaibu, however, noted that students in JSS3 and SS3 would not be affected by the closure as they have to prepare for the forthcoming examinations.

Meanwhile, the acting governor met with parents of the students at the premises of one of the schools.

He explained that the schools would be closed a week early to allow a mentorship committee set up by the government to address the incessant clashes between the two adjoining schools.

According to him, the committee will come up with solutions to the lingering crises and produce a template that will ensure that the students imbibe acceptable social behaviours and good morals.

“What is key is that these students need serious moral rearmament. We have to refocus their minds towards education.” Shaibu said.
