olabukola:

‘INEC herby urges everyone concerned to be patient and await further directive, which will be communicated as soon as decision is taken. The Commission urges everyone to be peaceful and avoid taking laws into their hands.

The Commission, once again, reiterates its resolve to ensure the highest level of integrity and credibility for the electoral process and herby solicits the cooperation of all stakeholders’, Kayode Idowu spokesman for Professor Attahiru Jega, Chairman INEC 28 April 2011

‘Following the April 26, 2011 governorship elections in Imo State, which the Resident Electoral Commissioner {Professor Celina Okoh} ruled inconclusive, the INEC has scheduled supplementary election to hold in selected areas on May 6, 2011.

……….The Commission urges all the affected stakeholders to ensure the highest level of integrity and good conduct in the supplementary election to allow for smooth conclusion of the governorship poll’.
, Alhaji Abdullahi Kaugama, Secretary of INEC 29 April 2011.

Conference of Nigerian Political Parties {CNPP}, with all sense of humility adjudged the failure of Independent National Election Commission {INEC} to declare the All Progressive Grand Alliance {APGA} governorship candidate, Chief Rochas Okorocha ,who polled the highest number of votes  and secured 25% in 18 of the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State  the winner; as tacit award of the governorship to incumbent governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim of the Peoples Democratic Party {PDP}. This is the futile agenda of the consolidation of one party state.

CNPP is of the candid view that if it was His Excellency, Chief Ikedi Ohakim of the Peoples Democratic Party, that polled the highest number of votes in the 22 Local Government Areas results were declared, with the stipulated 25% in the 2/3 of 18 Local Government Areas of Imo State; INEC instantly could have declared him the winner.

We are still at a loss on how INEC descended into the arena, instead of cancelling as it did in Bauchi State, the controversial results of the affected areas and declare results, to accommodate the 30 days stipulated in the 2010 Electoral Act; INEC invented SUPPLEMTARY ELECTION a stranger to the law.

We have searched for the much flaunted integrity of the new INEC leadership and their Professor Returning Oficers’  allies and by end of the day; it is becoming illusory as evidenced by the Imo State governorship confusion.

We had thought that Professor Jega and co is in a better position to appreciate the danger of one party state in liberal democracy and hence advance the frontiers of multi-party democracy. This is not the case, as they seem to have played into the hands of pro-one party state.

How on earth will INEC expect a desperate Governor Ikedi Ohakim to ensure the highest level of integrity and good conduct and allow for smooth conduct of the poll when INEC has offered him a life boat?

Or how do INEC expect APGA which was robbed the 2007 Imo State governorship in more or less similar scenario ensure the highest level of integrity and good conduct; when victory is slipping of its hand?

Professors Attahiru Jega and Celina Okoh will be held responsible if anything untoward happens in Imo State on or before May 6; for the supplementary election is not only inelegant, unknown to law, but uncalled for; however in the collective interest of our fragile democracy and our dear nation we call for caution.

Finally, we call on the opposition parties as a matter of urgent national importance to build a granite electoral alliance behind the APGA candidate, unite and deny the PDP the ignoble award of the Imo State governorship by INEC.

Osita Okechukwu
National Publicity Secretary
CNPP
Please Well to do Imolites, all hands should be on deck to make it possible for Rochas. Just do what you can and together we will remove this barrier from us. Thanks.

Here is the reult for yesterday's online poll

Who Do You Want to Win Imo State Governorship Election

Owelle Rochas Okorocha 67.5% (27 votes)

Governor Ikedi Ohakim 32.5% (13 votes)

Senator Ararume 0% (0 votes)

Other: 0% (0 votes)

Total Votes: 40

One person voted 10 time for Ohakim before I hardened the system and locked multiple thumbprinting. I know this may not really count but let us just make a ststement for record purposes. The website where the voting is taking place is

http://imostate.betterlifeng.com/

Invite others to vote and invite their friends to vote. We will forward our result to inec. the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is wen good ppl do nothing. Let us just vote , say what we can and leave the rest for God

very accurate, that is how it ought to be.

@rhymz, Amaechi5 God will bless all of you for saying the truth even when it is difficult.
One thing with these ohakim boys is that they are lies, imagine cmon writing that he see me in owerri street every day.
Look cmon.
Long time now i have not been to owerri, since i graduated from FUTO which ohakim and Nwuliri made very difficult for us, we left Imo good.
If i have been in Owerri i would have been very poor because opportunity is not there. After ohakim scammed many of us with his 10, 000 jobs, and his subsequent posting around, even at a stage, the desperate people among us started missing, men i got to find my way.
I like Rochas because for sure there is hope with him
ohakim will not win if not he will use Imo remaining money to pay all those who rigged him in. May be at the end your head will be in otokoto's coven for more money.

Come to think of it,  A campaign is supposed to lay down what a candidate expects to do for the state. Is "Free Education" all that Rochas has to offer?

We obviously can't go anywhere with that.
I can't imagine a graduate underrating  education, or are you not a graduate?
Let me tell you "education is the way forward, it makes it easy to rule people and difficult to enslave them,,
It is because ohakim does not know the true meaning of education that is way he locked up Imo State Univ.
Imolites like school that is why we endeavor to be educated. Ohakim increased school fees from 25k Udenwa left it to 150, 000.
Besides, is not only free education, that he  has promised,He also promised to build factories where citizens will be employed.
He promised to pay civil servants all the salaries that ohakim has refused to pay. He will make sure that the refinery GEJ promised to build in Imo comes to reality if truely GEJ complies. And many other things.
Since you like the evil of ohakim it will be your portion.
Vote Rochas for  Progress and joy of many. Vote Rochas.

All the above projects still fall in the DREAMS he had. He failed the election due to incompetence and nothing else.
The ring road you are talking of is the one along Orlu road, that project took 100x the normal amount and was later abound uncompleted.
Rochas will take Imo State to the real level, all and sundry have confidence in him. Except those evill like him whome will certainly face catastrogh greater than the damage ohakim has done to Imo State.
Since you were born have you seen the kind of jubilation and joy expressed in Owerri the way people rejoiced on hearing Okorocha has won the Imo guber election which ohakim is just impending? Well, destny may be delayed but can't be denied. Ohakim can't keep Imo at ramsom. Go and tell him Owelle Rochas is the way forward. Please ohakim boys, spam is a crime stop sending lies and spam sms to me.

We don't want a gov without a good vision especially for the youths. We the Imolites don't want impedement to our destiny. We are tired of descriminations from our gov, we don't Want ohakim. 4yrs as a gov of Imo state, no structure, nothing to show for, except keke nepep litered everyywhere
Imsu changed to Evan Enwerem univ and later locked up because of outrageous  increament in school fees ( 12,000 to 35,000 later 150,000 which students protested against and which made ohakim to lock up "Imsu" sorry Evan Enwerem.)
When Udenwa was gov, school fees was 12k.
We want Rochas So that even poor men children will go to school.
Vote for Rochas so that Imo State will take up its lost glory. Rochas=Positve change

It is a shame that most of us have just forgiven and forgotten about Udenwa who did not do a single thing for Imo Gov

Mr man you are really from panya. truest you have been away for for the past 20yrs.
those roads you traveled while coming back was either built/rehabilitated by either Sam Mbakwe  or Udenwa.
Please try and visit Imo state secretariat and  see Structures erected by Udenwa. Ask questions. Infact you have been in Imo state since you were born so stop giving me this pretenses.
Udenwa is from Orlu, your brother is from Mbano and Rochas  is from Ideato. So you can see the gap.
Udenwa built international stadium in orlu, numerous roads in Imo state, he built a very big agric farm in Owerri which is source of income and employment to imo people up to today. He rehabilitated and extended Imo state Univerisity which your brother has shut up. He built International market in his town Orlu. he empowered many youths in Imo. and all these gave him a smooth and soft return to the govt  house during second tenure. Rochas in order word has Single handedly empowered many youths in Imo state and beyond. His kindness has been seen across the country. Infact is good for Rochas to use Imo treasury for alms instead of your brother to use it on all the prostitutes in tertiary institutions in Owerri. no time for further dreams just go and tell him NO TIME FOR DREAMS. we need reality not dreams.Mr dreamer brother.
Tell me any structure that your oga ohakim has erected in imo. he said he has a dream for Imolites, he has been dreaming for the past 4yrs.
Look stop sending those spam sms to me. This is even why i hated you and your brother more. you spread lies through sms unsolicitedly. I don't even know how you got my no. please spam is a crime stop it!

I know you creatd account on this forum to right nonsense, we don't want ohakim as our governor. If you like go and stay in cafanchan for 100years.
The Onwuliri you are talking of was the family that defiled FUTO if you don't know ask questions. You are talkingn of the same people.
If Ohakim will change which i know is a big lie why attemting to rig a free and fair election in Imo.
Kwankwaso was the democratic Gov of Kano till 2003 he was defeated, as an honourable man he step aside, now he came only to be declared winner in the 26th gubber poll. One thing i like most is that your elder brother ohakim is Showing the whole world how corrupt he is. As for Our Dear Rochas, Well nobody holy pass but we need the breath of good governance.

I know this Onwuliri family too well. The family is a reputable family but Pro Onwuliri (man) is a money monger.
I graduated from FUTO, everything was going well before Onwuliri appeared on the scene, bribery, corruption, exam malpractice
and sorting becomes legalized.
He could be the same hunger and insatiable appetite for money that warranted him to offer his beautiful wife Pro viola Onwuliri (woman)
as evil Ohakim running mate. I pity them.

REALITY101:

I heard the Ohakim dude is so evil. .  God really watches and hears the cry of his people.
Yes he is
A man who mercilessly molested a Rev Father, a man who heartlessly scam students and jobless youths with his 10,000 job, a man
who inhumanely deprived the disables their allocation, a gov who never had local govt chairmen ( except his caretaker comm),
he who eats, he who dines with the ritualists in Imo even have the impetus to give them back they seized ritual hotels. A man who respects
no body,no regard for even God, whose wife said ''Owerri is not for the poor people, if you're not living with up to a million leave" etc ought to be devilish.
Rochas must certainly win, otherwise presidential election was actually rigged. Let them try it in Imo State then Imo will be ungovernable.
