It's traceable to inferiority complex which is responsible for that desire to step on the white man's land. |
I have a French friend of Nigerian origin who said to me that one of the problems she and her siblings have with visiting Nigeria with their parents is the smell. She said they smell it right from their arrival at the airport and that the smell follows them all the way back in their suitcases! Nigeria stinks and it's a shame we have gotten used to living in filth so much that we deny the stark obvious! TexasCowbell carry go jare. |

Verostef: thanks you sound like a pastor.Really? Well that's a good thing to sound like ![]() Have you contacted them, any progress? |
Thanks for the suggestion, however it's practically impossible because vacancies are posted by users, not the moderators only. |
Great stuff! It's a positive change from the usual unfortunate tales of shabby, disrespectful treatment of jobseekers by potential employers which we have been getting accustomed to hearing here, and in general. Thanks librangyps, I hope we get to read other attendee's perspectives of the presentation too. |
It would be good to hear from all who attended if you contributed to this topic or just read and applied. What was it like? What did you learn? What lessons would you give to anyone attending a similar event in the future? After your encounter with BAML is it a place you'd like to work? What do you like/dislike about them? Come on guys - OP, librangyps, tolutheo, dolipop, point45 (my keyboard pal ), shegsky? Please share your experience for others to gain from. |
Lets know how it goes when you're done guys, all the best. |
Your post history doesn't show any recently removed posts so it's not possible to determine the one you're talking about. Or is everything okay now? |
point45: It will be more beneficial for you to stop addressing people in a condescending tone and quit being grumpy, being jobless doesn't mean you can't be nice and friendly to people. And erm, yeah, nairaland moderator doesn't count as a job. When you get to Bank of America's presentation you'll need to be on your best behavior, even if it means having to pretend. The key to that is practice, practice, practice, so its best to start practicing immediately. |
By all means please do. I already visited their website. Do the same and send them an email. You can follow up with a phone call later on (consider the time difference), if you've got a BB check them out there too. It's really not difficult to tell a real business from a phony one. |
point45: Dude, do you know what LOL means at all? So much said I wonder why you missed it as a joke. And please don't get ahead of yourself, not all open days end in recruitment, some are just to stimulate your interest and it ends there. I don't know how a simple joke would just give someone a misplaced need to display shallow thoughts.Well this topic is not for jokes, it would be more beneficial to you to concentrate on preparing for the day than joking around here trying to sound clever. |
Oh I see, is that how you do business? What'll happen if you don't find anyone who's dealt with them before? Are you saying you can't make new a business contact? In that post they've got an email address, a website, a BBpin, a skype id and a phone number so I don't think you need any thing more for a verification. |
point45: ANYONE MOVING FROM IBADAN? AND YEAH WOULDN'T IT BE NICE IF EVERYONE KINDA CHIPPED IT IN THAT THEY SHOULD NOT JUST TELL US ABOUT MERRILL LYNCH BUT PICK US TOO, WE AIN'T SCARED OF THEIR TESTS NOW ARE WE? LOLWhy do you want to jump the gun? They wouldn't bother to go through all the trouble if they weren't interested in recruiting so there's no need to suggest to them what they already plan to do. Did you bother to find out what a recruitment open evening is? Did you read where they said: The team will be available during the session to tell you more about our bank, its culture, the career opportunities available to you and offer advice on how you can become the next generation of leaders in this fieldRemember you haven't even applied for a role yet, you don't even know what roles they offer. You're going for a pre-recruitment event so act accordingly. |
How about sending both for good measure? |
lakemoyoh: Fire outbreak at inalende dey wil nw turn to inatulenloDoubly tragic ![]() |
The story of the 1st billboard when he was desperate for a job was also posted here. It's good to see a positive outcome from his 'hustle'. |
When is the interview? Do you know what to expect? How are you getting prepared? |
Have you tried calling to speak to them, that's the best way to verify |
^ On what basis do you say that? I doubt you have any information to back up your statement because an ad was placed here for them recently. Let her answer the question I asked above 1st before we can make any deductions or conclusions okay? Oya OP you sef answer na.. |
anticent: You never said it will take like N100 from our phone to apply for this job º°˚˚°ºoo .Anyways,I think the opportunity is worth the loss. How do you mean? |
OP did you send a job application for an accounting position to an hhrss email address? |
Do you have the goods already or are just planning to source them? |
