The colour issue is just a side track. The health implications are the bane for me.

I consider them myopic and careless (men and women alike).

Only people who know them can label them as either irresponsible or otherwise.
Other people who still judge them notwithstanding personal interactions or the lack of it may have their reasons.
The media doesn't help their cause either as most popular tattooed celebrities aren't exactly role models.

I know a number of medications that come with adverse effects, and people who are familiar with the way their bodies interact with drugs do well to avoid them.

Skin irritation is the mildest side effect of a bad tattoo.
And no, at least not in Nigeria can someone say authoritatively that their skin will respond favorably to tattoos. The body is not predictable.
It all boils down to a dangerous gamble.
Some people smoke ciggarettes for decades and live long and healthy, others maybe a couple of years and cirrhosis sets in. It is all a gamble.
I regard gamblers as careless.

Drugs and tattoos are on different routes.
One is recommended, the other tolerated.

You can hardly call it being careless if said gamblers consider their possible loss as immaterial.

It's not like any long-term health risks are known yet And the coloring used are all approved for use as cosmetics (although it's unknown if they are harmful when used underneath the dermis).

So basically we are talking needle here and the risks can be reduced.
