Physical pain cannot be compared to emotional pain. Emotional pain can lead to depression, deterioration of mental health and even suicide.

Physical pain is mostly short lived, unlike emotional pain which could even last more than half of one's life time.

Losing an arm or a leg may cause, one, serious physical pains temporarily but the fact that one lost the arm may be traumatic.

I think it depends on individuals. Some people can deal easily with emotional pains but can't withstand physical torture and vise versa.

Imagine yourself been pierced with a red hot iron rod slowly into your skin and up your arm repeatedly.

Which one would you think is worse?

The thought of the pain or the actual pain?
