congratulations my bosses @hollaytan @obiwann and @Dehonourable my bbm padi..... i remembered the day hollaytan told me he wanted to cancelled his interview cos there was no hope of funding the account.......i felt like crying.... i pray the Almighty Allah send help to every other soul still struggling with funding his/her blocked account...also may Allah make our going to Germany fruitful. @Obiwann how far about the Nipost package....Garri must enter hamburg now..plenty plenty.... for #winter 2016 crew lets get rolling i applied to only two schools Msc Environmental Governance at Freiburg, Msc Environmental Management at CAU Kiel. I GOT ADMITTED AT CAU KIEL. The application for kiel was online and free of charge, only scanned documents were required and an online motivation letter of not more than 4500 words including commas, full stops and space. i hope this is useful to someone. #iwasalsohelped 15 Likes 1 Share |

Well I think this motivation letter of a thing varies from schools and courses, because the highest i have seen for my course is (350-450 words). Maybe because i will still have to submit a portfolio. BTW Its Architectural related courses. Anyway even if they want 10,000 words, we dey gallant. aibee01: |

Word of advice to the newbies. Please be do the necessary things as required by your school before forwarding your application, as i learnt from eke47 that if possible send a mail to the school for your transcript review prior your application. Apply to as many schools as possible, and write a very good motivation letter. My secret of writing my motivation letter is going to my intended departmental website, read through their on-going researches, stating the name of the researcher, establishing a close proximity with my area of interest and the school area of research. Most importantly, never feel discouraged by any unfavorable circumstance you may find yourself. The journey begun last summer with 4 schools , 3 rejections, the last admitted me for winter. Intended using sponsorship letter but sponsor lost his job.... But today everything ended well. Dont forget that there is always a God factor in all our dealings, but the most high one doesnt work on magical template, so do the right thing and be optimistic......truly God is awesome 9 Likes |

kilo4sure: I dey o. How far? I just visit the thread occasionally to know what's going on. I've simply given up on looking for Obi-Wan Kenobi's puns. Congrats, Obi-Wan. The Force be with you, always. Congrats to all other people who have got their visas. It's a good thing to be able to be honestly happy, but let's not go overboard in expressing our joy at getting a permit to visit a foreign country, shall we? Such emotional outbursts seems to diminish the value of our own country, and that's not very nationalistic. I urge you all to make study your priority, and not work, or 'hustle' as some of you term it. It's astonishing to hear people make statements like 'I don't care about the standard of the university, I'm only interested in how readily available jobs are in the city/town/village where the university is located.' It's important that you make ends meet of course - without money, you won't be able to study. Isn't it better though, that you graduate with the best possible grades, and get the best possible jobs after? The visa interview is what it is - an interview - not an exam. You're not granted a visa because of how many questions you answered correctly or wrongly. It suffices to show enough knowledge to prove that you're going to Germany to study, or for whatever reason you're going. Surely, getting as many questions as you are asked right is a way to 'show enough knowledge'. I'm just raising this point because it seems as if too much emphasis is laid on getting the questions right or wrong on this thread. Also, the VO simply types the answers you provide during the interview and sends it to the appropriate authority for assessment. I don't know if she includes her personal assessment of the interview with the answers, but the VO isn't the main person that you should be convincing during your interview - you don't get to see that guy. My 2 kobo AK47, any luck finding accommodation yet? Disregard if the Nigerian-German GPA conversion Q's been already answered: GGPA = 1 + 3(maxNGPA - NGPA)/(maxNGPA - minNGPAtopass) 5 Likes 1 Share |

number13:It's hasn't been an easy journey through life for most people. It's hasn't been an easy journey through school for most people. And after schooling, how much did they earn? They still had to suffer for months even trying to put together 8040 euros which is not a lot of money in Germany. Some of them even got rejected after finding and everything. So tell me, how can it not be a relief to finally have the visa stamped on their passports? If there were more opportunities in their motherland they would never dream of going anywhere so u can blame anyone. Life hasn't been easy. And doing ur Msc in Europe is a good chance at succeeding in the job race when u come back here. I'm very happy, in fact dancing for all my friends here who are coming to Germany. We should soon make a meet up somewhere in Germany all of us and have a party. Lol. Speaking of hustle. @Number13 is right. U should concentrate more of studies and not hustle. After ur studies u can hustle and it will pay much much better in Germany or Nigeria. But of course u must hustle to survive in Germany. Just don't forget why u came in the first place when u get there. Speaking on Patriotism, we all love Nigeria. Is there a reason not to? I always said that Nigeria could be the richest country in the world if we wanted to be. We just need to grow more which we are gradually. Many Nigerians abroad are coming home to put the skills learnt abroad to use in Nigeria these days. The boss of a German friend of mine in Nigeria is a Naija guy who stidied in Germany. So u see, we are coming up. Gone will be the days where Nigerians say yes sir to those stupid expats in the country who are sometimes not so skilled. Regarding the VO and ur answers to her, she writes a personal review on th following I. How composed u were when u walked up to her. II. Ur body language( if u meant what u were saying or it was rehearsed and might be fake) III. If u answered the questions straight , and correctly. So yes it is very important to be prepared for this interview because whatever she writes is what the boss (formally Frau Eigeld) but now a new lady called Eisele Kim-Maren who then looks into ur documents and sends them to the immigration(aliens) office of ur city with a review from the embassy in Lagos . So if they write a review that u might not be serious about studying or whatever, it's possible that the ausländer Behorde of ur city writes a negative mail back to the embassy in Lagos. Please guys, impress ur interviewer. And prepare for the interview like it's an exam. If u do not answer simple root questions with her or u are not fully prepared, u might also do a small test which some people here had to write. With more preparation, (mathematically) mostly, u will not need a small test. And the female (Yoruba) interviewer u guys have been saying is rude at first but nice later, that's her job, make u nervous, then make u feel comfortable so u can make mistakes for her to write. Do not think for one second that she is nice. I know personally, she isn't. She hardly wants students to get there and that's why sometimes she writes shitty reports. One more thing, the reason that new questions have been coming in ( like d guy that was asked about his family business, and some other questions) is because of this new lady in charge. So prepare ur selves, she hardly talks to anyone so she depends mostly on this report from ur interview. 5 Likes |

For those booking flights and would like to choose particular seats on these flights, this one is for you. go to www.seatguru.com select "browse airlines" choose your carrier. e.g "Emirates" Select "Planes and seat maps" Select the type of plane listed on your booking website for the trip and an image of the plane will show up. you can use this to determine which seat numbers to check with your travel agent to try and book you on. Other information are available on the website for your digestion. Congrats to all that have surmounted the hurdles to this point, we thank God for his mercies and using loads of great guys on this forum. God bless everyone and grant testimonies all round. I started this journey in January 2015 when a friend sent me the dad.de link to check and see what I can find, as I had been stuck with trying to combine GRE and my work with very little success due to my busy days, late nights and loaded weekends. I checked out the daad.de website and found a couple of courses that caught my fancy but i need more information so i did a google search for prospective german students (in a couple of different ways) and voila, this great thread came up and i started reading from thread 1. After a few pages, I felt like i was in the past and then moved ahead to the part 2. It was the right move as it was in the heat of applications and submissions so I got all the info I needed to apply without even commenting. This is the first phase! God bless everyone that takes out time to ask questions and those that give answers and explanations. The questions speak the minds of many and the answers open the eyes and minds of a lot more. All prospective applicants can be rest assured of one thing, help will always be available here! Gott Segne 7 Likes |

ALL of us here will come back to share a testimony of our exploits in Deutschland, the Lord that started this journey with us all is faithful and just to bring us to a much desirable destination. Joshua 1:8 it'll all end in praise. I pray also for everyone that non of us will regret ever embarking on this life changing journey. In Jesus name 5 Likes |
