I need your help!!! My school will be starting their orientation week by Friday this week and I have since applied and done my visa interview. When I contacted the embassy in Nigeria as regards my visa status, they replied me 5 days ago that they have sent my information to the relevant authorities in Germany and they are awaiting their response.

This is 5 days now... What do I do? By the way my school is located in Gottigen, Lower Saxony.
Do I contact the German office If yes, can anyone help me with a contact information I used google but couldn't get anything, may be I'm using the wrong words.

Contact ur city alien office. Maybe someone should help u with their phone number.
U can use IGI insurance. And can also do that in any state incase u don't stay in lagos.

Sometimes there can be more than one foreigners office in a region. Even with the one I sent do another search of any other foreigners office in Göttingen.

Pls do everything u can.. Call or mail o. Send ur messages in ENGLISH AND GERMAN.
if possible u can tell someone to help you call them who speaks German fluently.

You would have also known the right insurance company where you can obtain your travel/health insurance at an affordable rate if you have been following this thread.

You can get your travel/health insurance at Leadway Assurance, IGI, AICCO etc. But i will recommend Leadway becouse it's cheaper.

Now contact the Alien Authority as quickly as possible, Send an email if they don't respond on time back it up will calls their email address and phone numbers are in the above link.

Pals, I am in a State of dilemma. I studied Industrial and Production Engineering here in Nigeria, Graduated with CGPA 3.21. But knowing Nigeria, I don't feel I learnt enough. I'm torn between pursuing a fresh BSc in Mechanical Engineering and going forward with MSc in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering. I need your help wonderful people - advise, criticism.

Note: I have searched the website of DAAD and have seen a lot of BSc and MSc courses I'm qualified for. Will be 25 by next winter.

I think i'am right if i say your main dilemma is whether to apply for admission into a BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering and the major factor being your age. My advice put in for the the Masters and put in extra effort to flow along anything that you might not understand when lectures start try and seek out materials that might help you. I believe when you do get admission into your school of choice they should also have a BSc programme you can seek out materials from students there that might help you out. i believe all you need is to work hard if you feel inadequate in any way you can always brush up before and after you get your admission. just my 2 cowries tho

I got a similar response when I contacted my alien office for the first time. Now send a passionate mail to the embassy asking for the position of your visa application. They will likely respond that they are still waiting for the alien athotirty in your future place of residence to approve your visa. Then mail the alien authority again telling them that the embassy said they are still waiting for response from them; and copy and paste or attach the mail from the embassy and confirmation of funding from Deutsche bank. Remember to explain to them how soon your school will resume and how long ago you have done your interview and importantly add to your mail that this request should be forwarded to the appropriate authority or person if this happen not to be the right office in charge of this case.

Today makes it exactly 8 weeks since my interview and am yet to get the a.m mail from the embassy... i have been in touch with my alien office *ulm* and the embassy for the past 3 weeks as regards my case and i keep getting same feedback from both parties.... the alien office are insisting that no paper works has been recieved as regards my visa application and as of last week, they have ask deir representative at the Nigeria Embassy to send them a new application and up until now they haven't gotten anything...... i sent a mail to the address that asked me to fund my account and the guy has been insisting that he sent my application to the appropriate alien authority since the 26th of August......that i should ask for an enrollment extension while we wait the response of the alien office *smh* alien office dt is claiming that dey dnt av any application yet as regards my visa, *that means i ll b waiting for eternity be that*.......... well i called the alien office yet again dis morning and the guy was really beginning to get upset with me and said nothing has come in yet... i again wrote the embassy and this the reply i got from them this evening

 even though we sent the hardcopy, another digital version of your application was sent to the aliens authority. Give them some time to respond, in the meantime you should take all necessary steps in order to extend your enrolment deadline.***

He is still asking that i get an enrollment extension after sending him my enrollment certificate like twice now and is saying we should give the alien authority time to respond, when thesame alien office is saying they dont have any application for my visa........... I guess u ve not yet gotten d rightful person handling ur application. During my time I called 3 different people and they all confirmed that my documents is not yet with them even in d forth week. Latter I called again and d lady dat picked my call refered me to d d guy dat told me he just approved my visa. So try other lines.

Wow! I think you should immediately send a mail to your programme coordinator explain things to him and attach all the correspondence from both the embassy and the alien office. Beg him to intervene beyond deadline extension, by reaching the alien office and if possible the embassy on your behalf. And importantly dont stop praying to God for intervention, I want to believe you have been praying. Good luck sister!

Unfortunately its just one telephone number they have on their website and its same guy that picks the call whenever you call..... its ulm foreigners office incase someone have another number i can reach them with.... thanks alot for your response, rily appreciate.

There seems to be a mix up somewhere, the embassy claims to have sent your application even recently a digital version and the alien office keep insisting to not receiving it. At this point, I would also suggest you involve your programme coordinator and the international office of your school let them help you bombard the alien office and embassy. They can also help influence the application process. Explain the present state of the application and also an extention if still possible. The fact that lectures has started is more reason why you should keep disturbing them. Keep hope alive.
PS: At this point, contacting your program coordinator and international office via email will not do. You should also call them asap and explain things.
At least they can help you speak German to the alien office and embassy if that's what they want.

Step 1: reach your programme coordinator, international office or anybody that can help you out in your school.
Or
Step 2: leave things the way they are and put it in prayers.
