How will they see enough money to embezzle if they start acquiring IFVs and MRAPVs in large numbers?. Let us be reasonable please, defense funds must be judiciously looted to sustain the frontward prostrusion of their bloated bellies. angry

Another attack happened today at Gajiram on Monguno-Maiduguri road at 6pm.

I heard they raided the police outpost. Anytime i pass through there and see a community soldiers ran away from and is being occupied by police, i just feel pity for the police guys.

Today Bokoharam has cleared some of the mobile police.

Why should the Government allow a police station in a town Soldiers abandoned. The police can't face Bokoharam with AK-47s na embarassed

This war is just funny aswear angry sad

Besides soldiers can't be everywhere over there, to say they ran away ( talking about the other guys comment) is sad, if the place holds no strategic value or there's shortage of manpower, they won't hold it, i said it before, all these silly towns should be bulldozed and move the people into central locations that can be better defended .
To think the Govt has the means to post soldiers into every 200 person village that dotted the area is madness, BH simply have to overwhelm one of such and decimate the few troops there.

Ok
I never meant to insult the Military bro because i got so much respect for them. If you go through most of my posts here you will understand better. I am only pissed up with the Police to remain in a location the soldiers left. What the soldiers now do at that Axis is to stay beside the road and return back to Monguno before 5pm. While those at Gajiganna return back to Maiduguri

And plz forgive me for askiy this but AFAIK

The only reason a brave man will risk his life inorder to cool off is to avail any opportunity to cool off in the company of a lady friend or lady friends isn't it ? grin

Your reports are usually more balanced and accurate than the ones we see on mainstream media and army press releases.

Someone recently told me about the way troops now only do patrols on those highways, returning back to base before nightfall. Which at the end of the day, doesn't really solve anything because once the soldiers are gone, those BH guys would start their macabre vigil.

But if we can pull off the new super-camp strategy of the operation Lafiya Dole command, we may be able to herd the BH fighters into a kill zone, even though it's more of a defensive strategy.

Just to comment on the super fob strategy. This is actually a proven method of defeating insurgencies (tactically because defeating an ideology is a whole separate issue). If it's done right it can really hurt BH.

Something I advocated for more than a year to collapse those FOBs (In many cases they were just Combat Outposts in remote areas). Too little too late but better than doing nothing. ISWAP has already stolen a lot of weapons and ammunition to hold out for still longer. Apparently the Army High Command has given way to the tactical thinking of newer and younger commanders. These junior officers have had some tours up north and understand the terrain and psychology of ISWAP better. Understanding your enemy is very key in a counter-insurgency war. In the last one year the terrorists have been the one's choosing the time and place of battle a proven tactic that has bogged down and cost enormous treasure in blood and money known powerful armies like the US military. That's what the Viet Cong and Ho Chi Minh did to the Americans in Vietnam. Again, I insist the Nigerian Armed Forces should be commended for holding ISWAP/BHT our mortal enemy the worst ever seen by human kind at bay for ten years with very little.

We have already been through 3 presidents in this war and if new tactical measures are not evolved every often we might just go through another 2 presidents before some measure of defeat is put on ISWAP/BHT. Right now it is not beyond doubt the terrorists will seek ways to exploit the new tactical posture of Super Camps and aggressive patrols nearby not least to embarrass the Nigerian Army and weaken morale.

I have heard about the super camp operation here. But can you give more details what this super camp actually means? As regards to Soldiers leaving at Evening. It became an issue kinda yesterday when a community on Maiduguri-Monguno road demanded that Chadian soldiers should be deployed to their community to sleep over. Last Night we saw over 20 vehicle movement of Chadian forces moving towards that location to sleep over. It is now looking as if Communities feel more safe in the hands of Chadian forces. Sincerely the Government needs to act fast on this Insurgency issue.

May God keep the Road safe as i embark on my trip today wink

Basically, the scattered FoBs are merged into various single well-defended "super camps", from which regular patrols and intermittent onslaughts are coordinated against the enemy. This way, attacks on military bases will drastically reduce(though the defenses would be continously tested by BH fighters) and attack formations can be efficiently carried out.

The problem I see is that the lack of MRAPS and APCs will hinder a lot of attacks operations, opening our soldiers to ambushes and attacks. All BH/ISWAP needs to do is to lure contingents of troops out of the super camps(by attacking nearby occupied villages or raising black flags over unoccupied communities) and then ambush the attacking convoy with high volume violence.

Another thing is that we need to get people away from communities where they still reside and move them to IDP camps, because patrols alone cannot protect them. We can then leave the humanitarian crisis that would be escalated by further dislodgement of people into IDP camps to the new Ministry of humanitarian affairs.
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Litmus: 11:54am On Sep 06, 2019
From a civilians’ perspective, Super camps invokes images of Forts as containment vehicles informed by Siege-mentality. And while siege-mentality, defined as “a defensive or paranoid attitude based on the belief that others are hostile towards one” may suffice for our situation, shouldn’t Nigeria therefore be seen to spend more on defence including border? This is since the “others hostile towards Nigeria” can only practical fit an endless supply of recruits for Bokorarah throughout West Africa.

If we are not going to buy those aircrafts, missiles and tank that project threat in the eyes of the neighbours, how are we going to persuade them that it is in their interest to prevent their young people joining Bokoharam and the other terrorists groups laying siege on Nigeria’s thin line of defence called Super Camps? This is since defensive encampments alone could never outlast the bottomless cesspit from which Bokoharam draws recruits .

South Africa's Lucas Majozi (1916-1969) was awarded the highest medal received by an African soldier in the Second World War; the DCM (Distinguished Conduct Medal).

With several bullets in his body, Majozi returned to the battlefront time after time into machine gunfire to pull out wounded men during the Second Battle of El Alamein which commenced on October 23, 1942.
