PassingShot: I see, if Ndiigbo refuse to vote for their own, they are naive and not united, but if they do, they are tribal and vindictive, and still holding on to past grievances. You lots should make a decision and stick to it. Enough of this goal post changing. 3 Likes |

Actually Rochas would contest in 2019 and i think he would win....he said Buhari promised him if he supports him this time that he too would support him in 2019 and I know Buhari is a man of his words. 1 Like |

xtayle:you have spoken like a yoruba man, they are deceitful and tribally inclined. You beat ur chest to be one who determine votes but ask with what number of votes? When south-east and south-south voted for Obasanjo in 1999 and 2003, they were the right people, when these same zones voted for Yaradua in 2007 they were not tribal and sentimental. When they presented and voted a candidate, they became sentimental and tribal. My question is have the south-south and south-east shown love enough to Hausas and yorubas that should engender same love from the later? You have said it allow trust is earned but yoruba man is not trusted in the bed of politics, not even the hausas can trust them. 4 Likes |

Daverytimes:correct..what people need are implementation of good and peoples govt policies, not who becomes president..the north has produced the highest number of presidents but still lags behind every other regions on all indices and scales..that the north have very rich folks like dangote who became rich thru lopsided govt patronage is outta da question, that does nothing to the huge amount of the ever loitering and pauperised talakawas and almajiris.. The sw are front runners in terms of intellectualism and education, awolowo, who got that credit and honor literarilly begged to be president for a day...and that academic feat was achieved way long before obj came onboard as civilian president and i doubt he,obj, made any inputs when he dorned that khaki.. The igbos are natural progressives, survivalists, dexterous, industrial and are trully blessed and have done extremely well for themselves and others in the face of deliberate govt strigent and harsh policies and having never substantially occupied the seat of power.... The north's rabid and thirst for power coupled with her long time in the seat of power has done little or no good to everyone and region and they are not ready to allow others direct the country's affairs. So its not all about being president, afterall gej was there for about 6yrs and the niger delta is still degraded and denigrated;polluted and exploited. The op talked about not entertaining issues thats gotta do with Biafra or massob..but truth is,that definitely could be what the igbos deserve and need. Same goes for the niger deltans. 4 Likes |

PassingShot: That post was not just for you, but for other Nigerians and naive Igbos. Nothing the Igbo does will ever please Nigerians, his every move and actions will always be assigned negative intentions and used against him. He is damned if he moves, and condemned if he stands. There is no pleasing our detractors. 2 Likes |

Re: How Can Nigeria Produce An Ibo President? by pazienza(m): 3:44pm On Apr 23, 2015 |
giantstrides: The better question is: don't you think Ndiigbo should be applauded and commended for rejecting their beloved son, in favour of a foreigner, in the spirit of "one Nigeria"? Shouldn't that act be seen as a testament of the Igbo "detribalized" nature and true belief in the unity of one Nigeria? Shouldn't that singular altruistic act of rejecting our own beloved and most cherished "Ojukwu" in favour of a foreigner be seen as a proof to the fact that Ndiigbo as a people are not. sentimental people held down by past grievances? Shouldn't the rest of Nigeria be applauding us for doing what both Yorubas and Arewas can never do ie, support another over their own? 5 Likes |
Re: How Can Nigeria Produce An Ibo President? by pazienza(m): 3:51pm On Apr 23, 2015 |
You won't of course. It is more convenient for you to assign negative intentions and motives to that act. You find a way to twist it and make the Igbo the villain, you twist them as follows. 1: The Igbo didn't vote for Ojukwu because they lack unity, they are silly, too, individualistic and lacking in political sophistication. 2: They didn't vote for Ojukwu becos they are AGIP( all government in power) they only vote any government in power. 3: They didn't vote for Ojukwu because they are too money loving, so their leaders were bought over with money. 3 Likes |

You have created a game that the Igbo can never win, no matter how hard he tries, cos you keep changing the rules to make sure he remains the villain! This is the truth that the naive Igbos are yet to grasp, 2 Likes |

IGBO'S SPIRIT OF INDIVIDUALISM AND EXHIBITIONISM MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM TO STAND TOGETHER AS A FORMIDABLE FORCE. THIS TRAITS MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM TO SUPPORT ANY OF THEIR OWN SON. IF YOU THINK IT IS A LIE, ASK OJUKWU AND CHEKWAS OKORIE. |

pazienza: My question wasn't answered, you just steered the discussion to another angle. I think I agree with passingshot, the Igbos do not seem to want the presidency, right from the first republic when Azikwe's led NCNC rejected Awolowo's AG in an alliance that would have made the Igbos a dominant force , since they held higher numbers in the parliament than the Action Group. Instead , they joined NPC and gave the northerners power on a platter of gold, the mistake has been repeated over and over again since then . 2 Likes |

giantstrides: Lies your ancestors passed on to you. Awo was never interested in forming any alliance with Zik, he was only weighing up his options and sizing up the East and North. For while he was in discussion for a possible alliance with Zik, his right hand man, Akintola was in the North on his behalf discussing on possible alliance with the North. He played the same game on Ojukwu. Zik was older and wiser in the ways of the world, than Ojukwu, he easily picked up on Awo's treachery, and hurriedly teamed up with North. Blame your treacherous Awo for the failure of the East - West alliance. 2 Likes |
