The Petitioners’ Witness 59, David Njoga, called by the Petitioners as an Expert Witness, have told the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, on Friday, that the server results presented by the Petitioners as the authentic results of the February 23, 2019 election, were released by an anonymous Official of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Njoga called by the Petitioners, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, told the Justice Mohammed Garba-led Tribunal of five Judges, that he never knew the unknown INEC employee.

The presidential election petition tribunal has ordered Mahmood Yakubu, national chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to produce some documents requested by the petitioners.

The five-member panel of judges led by Mohammed Garba gave Yakubu up till 12pm on Thursday.

The panel also gave the same order to the Zamfara resident electoral commissioner (REC) to produce results sheets of all the polling units in the state for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, has reacted to the call by the Northern Elders’ Forum (NEF) for herdsmen to leave the Southern part of Nigeria.

It would be recalled that the Northern Elders’ Forum (NEF) on Tuesday urged Fulani herders to leave Southern part of the country if the safety of their lives and property are not guaranteed.

The Chairman of the forum, Prof. Ango Abdullahi, who said this at a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday, claimed that there was a move by some trouble elements to engage herders in violence in the Southern part of the country.

He was quoted as saying, “We have heard in the few hours ago that some violence had already started to manifest in some sections of the country against the herdsmen.

Huawei to release first 5G smartphone in 2 weeks, the Huawei Mate 20 X, on July 26 in its headquarters in Shenzhen, South China’s Guangdong Province, a source close to the company confirmed with the Global Times.

The move signals the Chinese company is leading 5G commercialization despite relentless attack from the US, and offers a boost to overall 5G industrialization, analysts said.

Huawei Mate 20 X became the first Chinese smartphone that gained a 5G network license, the company said in June, which means Chinese consumers will soon be able to purchase it and enjoy super-fast 5G speeds

Ghana is one of the latest countries to be granted a visa-free status by the South African government.

South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs has added Ghana to a list of seven countries whose nationals willbe permitted to enter South Africa visa-free. Nigeria was not included despite the large volume of trade between the two countries.

South Africa announced in September 2018, that it was finalising a number of visa waiver agreements with other countries including Ghana to allow travellers to enter the country without a visa.

A retired major, Yahaya Shiko, who served as the collation agent for the Peoples Democratic Party in the Kaduna South Local Government of Kaduna State during the February 23, 2019 presidential election, said on Thursday that the results of the poll were doctored in his presence in favour of the All Progressives Congress.

Testifying before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, at the instance of the PDP and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as the 20th petitioners’ witness, Shiko said the poll in his area was marred by over-voting and allocation of figures to political parties that participated in the election.

Bola Tinubu, a National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has reacted to insinuations of him contesting for the presidency in 2023.

Tinubu distanced himself from reports of him running for the highest political office in the country in 2023.

He made this known while renouncing a group known as “Asiwaju Reloaded Ambassadors’ Nigeria’.

The group made face caps, T-shirts, leaflet carrying his pictures embossed on them with the message “Tinubu 2023.”

1. Protesting Shiites members agitating against the continuous incarceration of their leader, Sheik Al-Zacky Zacky, on Tuesday clashed with the Nigeria military, resulting in the death of one person.

The protesters, who were in large numbers were heading towards the National Assembly at about 1.15pm but were intercepted by the military personnel already waiting at the gate.

2. The Inspector General of Police (I-G), Mr Mohammed Adamu, on Tuesday ordered 24 hours surveillance on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and its environs to forestall break down of law and order.

A statement by DCP Frank Mba, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) in Abuja said the I-G gave the order following a violent protest by members of the El-Zakzakky Group in Abuja.

Embattled Sen. Ishiaku Abbo (PDP-Adamawa) on Tuesday told members of the Senate investigative panel hearing his alleged case of assault of a nursing mother not to threaten him with suspension.

The senator spoke when he appeared before the six-man panel set up by the Senate to investigate him.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that President of the Senate, Dr Ahmad Lawan set up the panel which is headed by Senator Sam Egwu (PDP-Ebonyi) on July 3.

Salisu Maijigiri, the chairman, Katsina state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Tuesday, told the election petition tribunal that his party’s presidential candidate in the February 23rd, presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, won President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina state.

He said, while President Buhari polled “872,000, his party, the PDP scored, 905,000. According to him, “We (PDP) are the one who won the election not APC.
