@ kwizzy212, I've tried that, still it didn't work. I used 23409 (for Abuja)

@ kwizzy212, Dont disturb your self, the site has clearly stated it, if you are using a card outside America or Canada it wont accept it because it will do what is called billing address verification and $1 each will be charge for every transaction for wrong billing address code. so the best way is make your payment through swift transfer or liaise with the school if they accept credit card from Nigeria. I know much about this on-line payment becos i work in that section in the banking industry

HELLO HOUSE, I WANT TO KNOW IF U.S OR THE SCHOOL VERIFY STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT SENT TO ISSUE 1-20 FORM,
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by OjaP: 8:18pm On Sep 23, 2010
@Chux4liv,if your account is genuine, why are you afraid of the school verifying the account, that shows you are trying to play smart here.Whichever way,the school do not verify statement of accounts, the embassy too do not verify.I hope this helps.
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by seniorak47(m): 8:23pm On Sep 23, 2010
@ Ojap; no lele, As soon as am thru with the first semester sometime by year end and early January, I am thinking of doing some road travel which make bring close to your end of ''town''.

@ Chuks4liv ; some questions are sensitive and are better discuused maturely to avoid misinterpretations. Also, schools are different but for a better understanding of the details, inbox some members directly and am sure they will be at home to provide answer to ur queries.

seadog406:

Hey Guys,am back, was just too busy with this school thing here, Have got Exams, and have done several homeworks that are crazy, mehn this yankee no be child's play oo.i no believe say i fit dey read like jacky for here sha, anyway lets get down to business

@Sanciro have met Nigerians here which were denied twice, thrice and they got their visa atlast, also a guy which was denied British Visa Once,Canadian Visa 4times and USA once until he got the last visa for USA and now he is here.so dont lose hope man.,well about your interview which you were denied,i will point out some red flags, which the others pointed out.
1.Applied too early
2.You are Unemployed
3.You just finished NYSC thing,
4.Where did you get to know about the School(Internet).

1)According to what the other gurus said, that apply like 90 or 60days before resumption is cool, and according to what you told me,they were giving out visas to the ones going for visits, this means there is a time range/frame where Students should apply for visas, and they've got quota for the visas they give in a year.

2)About being Unemployed thats really a red flag,so you going to USA to study while you are unemployed here?Hell No.that sends a signal that maybe when you get there, you not going to study, maybe run away and turn to illegal immigrants.

3)That you just finished NYSC(meaning you might even come back to your country then),i believe they all know what this NYSC thing is for,and is compulsory for all Nigerians, this should be what you will use to tie them down that you coming back for your NYSC(thats your tie)unless you married and your kids are in Nigeria.

4)Please house take note of this.the internet gives informations about everything.Always be specific with that you saying.
Like where did you find out about the school? you let them know.collegeboard website or petersons.com or princetonreview.com

*Note* This is going to the whole house, how good looking you are matters alot and always put a smile on your face.

So guys am out.Exams starts now.Going back to read,No be small thing oo.God dey sha

Spot on bro. Couldn't have said it any better. Sanciro, hope you're grabbing every detail. That's why we said, the more we know, the better help we can render.

@ Ojap, trust you can help out with the application fee stuff for the dude.

@ others who need to pay their application fees with credit card, you can walk into any Skye Bank branch, request for a VISA prepaid card, pick it up immediately you furnish them with the requirements and make your payment. PLEASE, YOU CANNOT USE IT TO PAY FOR YOUR SEVIS FEE OH! You can check previous comments on the thread for the best way to go about that. Will post when I get it in more details.

@ seniorak47, Bros, I hail thee, will beep you on ym later.

@sanciro,
Not to worry. U can fix yr appointment anytime. What matters is what has changed. U shud be able to defend those reasons that didn't work in your favor the last time and sincerely, those reasons are best known to you. I am convinced you know them.

@femiap, superbrain, 4ril, benom, 4govenor,

While I await the hard copy of my I-20, I have requested that I get a scanned copy to enable me commence the various payments. I am looking at taking a date for end of Nov. How are you guys moving on with yours?

OjaP:

@seniorak47,i am digging California too, You cant believe i have started working on my thesis already.Met my prof this morning and we went to the field together. How is Newyork? We cant wait to see you come over, alot of places for you to visit.I think Sanciro is still right even if he files far beyond the 90days.if he was to be given, what they will do is just hold his passport till when the 90days starts.that is not a red flag @ all.Seniorak47,what do you think about having a nairalander party in California?Does it make sense?
OjaP, I am very sure u must have seen oyewolejos on this thread-one of the counsellors here- he is in california too, Los angeles to be precise. Where in cali r u? Concerning the nairaland party, Myself, femilangy and other NL lords have it in mind to host a party but the location is still d problem as we hv to consider logistics and proximity of d location to our respective states. In d mean time, we might meet at madison square(42nd street) in NYC b4 heading to where Nigeria@50 will b celebrated.

If we will finally decide where to choose,i knw it wil be any of DC,NYC or Los Angeles, Send me ur email then we will relate,

Nethacker!!!

Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by benom(m): 8:28am On Sep 25, 2010
superbrain is 100% right. U can pay all your application fees using the skye bank prepaid visa card. U can also use firstbank netsafe card. First bank visa card does not work on the inter net so please make it clear to them that u need the netsafe card.
As for the skye bank visa card, just walk in to any skyebank close to u and get 1.
U can pay ur sevis fees thru western union. That will be in benin republic. Just across seme to be precise.
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by keneyinks: 11:47am On Sep 25, 2010
@benom thanks, someone was also telling that one can use verve card for the payment, is it true ?
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by benom(m): 6:35pm On Sep 25, 2010
nope. U can't use verve for dollar payments. It has to be mastercard, visacard or discovery all of which u can get hare except discovery.

Guy, We no dey use zip/post/Postal code for 9ja, Nipost introduced it about a decade ago but it's irrelevant cos it's of no use, so just use any 5 digit code

Hello Good people,

I need a confirmation from you folks, a friend of mine just got his 1-20 form for spring 2011, but he wants to differ the admission to next year summer 2011 because of his training in south-Africa. If he differ his admission will he have b issued a new 1-20 form
Alos i like to know how can one transfer from one school to another (precisely from university to a college )
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by OjaP: 10:28am On Sep 27, 2010
@Chukx4liv,Why not get to the bridge first before crossing the river? You can transfer after you get an admission and a F1 visa. You must have completed some certain credits that are transferrrable in your school before you can do that,You will have to talk to your course coordinator to be able to do this.Your friend will be definitely be issued another I-20, that is if His/Her deferment of admission is approved by the school. The new I-20 which will show a new resumption date and dont forget he will have to send them another financial statement of account for the school to be able to issue another I-20.Let your friend contact his/her intl adviser to be sure of what i am saying.I hope all these info suffice.

Pls house i need your help, see below what my Administrative Specialist of the school i apply to said b4 she issue my 1-20 letter to me.

In order to complete your admission packet there are still a few things that I still need from you.

I have great news. You are going to be admitted to SU.

You still need to pay the $9,500.00 advance deposit.

Once you have paid these fees, let me know and I can get your admission and immigration documents issued and sent out to you.

Just let me know.
Thanks
Billie

I call her and tell her that what if i am not given the visa and she told me that my money would be refund back.

Hello House,What are the chances of a student of 29yrs or thereabout applying for an UNDERGRADUATE ? Although has already completed his OND and also in his final year 500level.Can the house advice ?
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by Superbrain(m): 9:56am On Sep 28, 2010
Already in final year and still thinking of undergrad? Why would anyone consider such? Best bet is to head for grad school than waste your time and money pursuing undergrad studies.
