FashionPresident Of The Nigerian Queen Bares It All On " The Bitter Truth" by 247tops(op): 1:30pm On Feb 24, 2016
Let's talk about Beauty Pageant (BP). BP is a reality show, it's an investment and a business in which the investors look forward to making profit. One of the ways they make profit is by selling tickets for the Grand finale, others are through sponsorships and selling of advert space on their event brochure etc. Thus, one shouldn't mistake beauty pageant for a charitable event. Instead many Pageant Organization have their own NGOs or platforms they use in giving back to the society.

Like The Nigerian Queen (formerly Queen of Trust Pageant) have theirs which are Beauty for Purpose and I Can Help.

Beauty Pageant, Just like every other reality show/competition, the contestants are expected to work really hard to make sure a lot of people vote for them and also come out to cheer them up at the finals. there is nothing wrong if any pageant organisation give tickets to contestants to invite their friends, family, and supporters to come cheer them up at the Grand finale? People or Contestants should only complain when the organisation makes the tickets selling as a major criteria you must do to win. Which i don't Support But even in some major TV reality show /competitions, I stand to be corrected, like "The Nigeria Idol", it's the N50 or N100 per vote which each of the fans, friends and family of the Contestants sends that keeps the contestants in the house. This action terminates the bias attitude of the judges and give room for the audience to participate fully in the event. As for the Nigerian Queen, they have about 10 sub-competitions with about 32 different judges. The total of these 10 Competitions makes you the winner. #Not the tickets .

BP: It's an investment and a brand. Some Organizations brand have gotten to the level that the Government single handedly sponsors their events. Such organisation don't expect your friends or family members to purchase the event tickets because everything has been paid for. So they make the event strictly by invitation; Nevertheless, Miss world, Miss Universe and other reality events are ticket events. For The Nigerian Queen Pageant , millions are spent for every edition for promotion, star prizes, event centers, camping, feeding( the contestants and crew), stage, lights, sounds, artists and lots more in order to put up Standard classic unique show. So beauty pageant is not a charity event/Show , it's an investment.

If you are aspiring to Contest For a title to become a beauty Queen, then you must understand that to be successful like every other thing in life, like a medical Doctor,Lawyer, Actor, Writer, Modle, Politician,Music Star.... You must work hard!

It is uncivilized to consider pageant organisation as a prostitution Avenue. No pageant organisation can stand along with prostitution. Successful beauty pageants are very far from that, for every edition you need: creativity, focus, innovation, consistency, determination, and lots more which none of these is related to prostitution. Its just like you saying those who went to school to become Bankers, wanted to become Bankers so they can use it as an Avenue of prostitution. Almost all pageant organisations suffer from this prejudice, allegation or assumption. Beauty Pageant contestants are not docile, they must be beautiful and have Brain. and also have the ability or Capacity to manage their title for one year base on their contract.

It is high time people stop the negativity about Beauty Pageant, consider it as an Avenue that promotes our culture and traditions and also gives our ladies the opportunity to actualize their dreams.

I have many things to talk about with my 8 years of Experience. But let me rest my caseFor now. KJA

SportsSee The Question That Made Ronaldo Walked Out On Journalists by 247tops(op): 5:26pm On Feb 17, 2016
Cristiano Ronaldo left journalists bewildered yesterday after he walked out of a press conference angry after being asked why his goal tally away from home had dried up recently. The Portugal captain has failed to score away from home since putting one past Eibar in La Liga on November 29. Ronaldo has scored 21 goals at home this season compared to 11 at away games but the Journalists felt Ronaldo isn’t at his magical best compared to previous seasons given that he recently turned 31.

Asked by a journalist ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions league match with AS Roma in Rome why his goal tally had reduced recently, Ronaldo growled in Spanish: “Why have I struggled to score away from home? Can you name one player who has scored more away from home than me since I’ve been in Spain? No, you can’t; there aren’t any. Bye everyone”. Watch The Video Below:-

SportsI'd Like To Have Messi's Left Foot - Ronaldo by 247tops(op): 2:47pm On Jan 12, 2016
Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted to coveting a particular asset of his Ballon d'Or rival Lionel Messi, who he believes stands a greater chance of being named the world's best player. The Real Madrid forward is part of a three-man shortlist for the award, alongside Messi and Brazilian star Neymar, with the winner due to be announced at a ceremony in Zurich on Monday. And in what some would argue was an uncharacteristic moment of humility, he has claimed either of the Barcelona men are more likely to pick up the prestigious prize following their club's impressive year.

Furthermore, Ronaldo revealed his admiration for Messi's left foot, as he expressed his delight at being part of the glamorous proceedings once again, having claimed the prize on each of the past two occasions. "If I'm here it's because I deserve it and because of the season I had, because of my individual performances," he said. "Maybe Messi or Neymar has a better chance, but I am here for a reason. Coaches and captains have voted for me. I would not be surprised if one of the others wins. I know that on a team level things are different. "I don't feel pressure to win the Ballon d'Or. I am just happy to be here again. It is an honour. I would like to have Messi's left foot. His left foot is very good."

SportsRe: 5 Talented Footballers Jose Mourinho Destroyed At Chelsea by 247tops(op): 10:32am On Jan 05, 2016
4. Juan Cuadrado: The Colombian star moved to Stamford Bridge for a reported £26 million with the hopes that his combination with Hazard will become a thorn in the flesh for defenders in England. Yet, the ‘Blues’ manager gave the former Fiorentina goal poacher little or no chance to showcase himself. The 27-year-old attacking maestro who is currently on a season-long loan with Juventus scored 20 goals for Fiorentina before joining Chelsea. However, under the ex Chelsea manager, Cuadrado only managed to appear 13 times in the 2014/2015 season with no goals; and in his new club Juventus, the Colombian has featured 14 times and has netted twice with the season just half way.

5. Petr Cech: The Czech goalkeeper completed a £10m switch to the Gunners after the continual use of new arrival, Thibaut Courtois, as he was forced to the bench. At his exit at Chelsea, Mourinho said: “Petr Cech has been a great servant for Chelsea for 11 years and helped this club to win almost everything there is to win.” “I always said I wanted him to stay but I understand Petr needed to move on to play first team football every week. At Arsenal, Cech has been a major force that has helped Arsene Wenger’s men to the top of the EPL table after 20 games. The 33-year-old has featured for the Gunners in 20 games and has been crucial for the club, making quite a number of great saves.

Sports5 Talented Footballers Jose Mourinho Destroyed At Chelsea by 247tops(op): 10:32am On Jan 05, 2016
No doubt, ousted Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has been penned-down as one of the best football coaches that has graced planet earth. Not only is he regarded by a number of players, coaches, and commentators as one of the greatest and most successful managers in the world, the presence of ‘The Special One’ has electrified the football world especially for his antics and mind games. However, as good as Mourinho is, there are players his tactics almost ruined their career.

1. Daniel Sturridge: Sensational striker who currently plays for Liverpool FC. He felt “deprived” when he did not have the opportunity to express himself at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho.Luck came his way when Brendan Rodgers pulled his £12million master stroke in the transfer market and paired Sturridge with Luis Suarez. That combination got over 50 goals at the 2013/2014 season.

2. Mikel: Great Nigerian midfielder. John Michael Nchekwube Obinna, known as John Obi Mikel, joined Chelsea in 2006 months after he was adjudged the second most valuable player at the u-20 World Cup.The 28-year-old was an attacking midfielder, but with manager Mourinho’s first spell at Stamford Bridge, Mikel played in the midfield alongside Joe Cole, Michael Essien, Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack, Malouda and few others. With time, he occupied the defensive midfield for Chelsea but showed great scoring potentials whenever he was on national duty scoring a number of goals for the Super Eagles of Nigeria. However, the return of ‘The Special One’ condemned the Nigerian to bench for most part of the 2014/2015 season. With the sacking of Mourinho as Chelsea manager, interim coach, Guus Hiddink has rejuvenated Mikel’s game. With Chelsea’s 3 – 0 win away to Crystal Palace, Mikel was awarded the man of the match; an indication he is still a great player.

3. Juan Mata: Very skilful left-footer. The Spaniard won Chelsea’s Player of the Year in 2012 and 2013, playing a pivotal role for the Blues. However, at a point, Mourinho condemned Mata to bench for an awful long time an action which Chelsea fans considered unfair. At his exit at Stamford Bridge, The Special One apologised he did not make the Spainard “a better player”. He said: “I feel sorry that I didn’t make him happy, but football is football and I build a team around Oscar in that position,” Chelsea boss. Mata moved to Manchester United and has since beaten his Chelsea goal tally in 22 fewer matches for the Red Devils. The Spanish midfielder moved to Old Trafford in January 2014 for a hefty £37.1million and has made his mark at the Theatre of Dreams.

Christianity EtcImportance Of Women Education In Islam by 247tops(op): 5:21pm On Dec 30, 2015
WOMAN IN ANCIENT AGE:
In the day of the old, women were sold and bought like house-hold, cattle and domestic cattles. They had not the right to own anything, they ranked no better than slave girls and concubines, on the death of a husband his wives were divided among his heirs. The most astonishing fact was that woman was looked down upon as a suspect, a contemptible thing and an unclean creature. In the dark age, they sometimes bury a girl alive soon after the delivery, some religions designated woman as the Satan’s snare, unworthy of entering the paradises, other denied to her all religious institutions. There were communities that kept her confined like tethered animals, and some societies gave her father the right to sell off his daughters, if a man murdered a woman, he was not bound to pay with his life. Islam gave woman right such as no religious system has ever given. The Holy Qur’an and the Traditions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) address themselves to man and woman alike allowing no discrimination except in a few injunction regarding woman’s duties.

RESPECT FOR THE FEMALE SEX:
Not content with given equal rights, Islam instructs man to have respect for the tender sex, and treat no woman as their inferiors. They have been commanded to put up with undesirable behavior on the part of women and show them for bearable and patience, Qur’an Majeed say: “……live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If you take a dislike to them, it may be that you dislike a thing and God brings about though it a great deal of good” (4:19). And Allamah Ibn Asaki reports a saying of the Holy Prophet originating from Hazrat Ali (Karramalla-hu Wajha). “None but the noble of heat respect the women folk, and none but base minded insult them”.

DIVISION OF DUTIES
Before we explain the right awarded by Islam to women, we must paint out that the injustices done to this sex in olden times was due to the fact that the religious systems and sages of old had failed to make a proper division of duties between man and his wife. This gave rise to uncertainties and carried the ancient communities to this or that extreme. Islam made a balanced and judicious division of duties, telling each other sex what obligation it had to meet so that social lorder might rest on solid foundations. Accordingly, that males were made to realize their duties as followers. “Man is the protector of the members of his household and stand responsible to God for them” (Buhari: Book of Marriage contract). The woman in contrast with this, are not made responsible for earning a living, their duties have been laid down in the words: “Women is the keeper of her husband’s household and stands responsible for that.” (Ibid). It means that the sphere of female’s responsibility is the cares of the house. She should look after her house and children with due sense of responsibility. This does not means that she will remain a prisoner within the four walls, she may go out when business call her in connection with the performance of her duties, even earn a wage under economic pressure. But her primary duties relate to the management of her household.

RELIGIOUS RIGHTS
In the west and some other countries, women were suppose to be deviods of true faith. Hence she was not allowed to access to sacred literature. It was also believed that the souls of female sex are not immortal, and get totally annihilated after death. Hence, they would not find a place in paradise along with men, for they lacked religiosity. Islam emphatically refuted this belief. The Qur’an again and again has addressed itself to man and woman together, with good tiding, of a place in paradise in reward for good deeds to all of them. It declares sthat good action whether of man or woman shall not go unrecompensed. The following verses speak of the woman’s tittle to divine favours: “ And their lord has accepted of them and answered them. Never will I suffer to be lost of the work of any of you, be male or female, you are members, one of another….” (3:19). The verse quoted below again promise paradise to the virtuous one irrespective of sex distinctions. “And if any do deeds of righteousness be they male or female and have faith, they will enter heaven, and not the least injustices will be done to them.” (4:124). And so does the following promise a place in paradise and the favour of Allah’s pleasure to those who believe whether males or females. “God hath promised to Believers, men and women, gardens under which rivers flow to dwell therein and beautiful mansions in gardens of everlasting flies. But the greatest blise is the good pleasure of God, that is Supreme felicity.” (9:72).

COMMUNAL AND SOCIAL RIGHTS:
Even to this day, they are communities that place a bar against the participation of women in communal and social activities. In the same way they are denied civil and political rights. ISLAM allowed them these rights from the very start. The following verses clarified their equality of right and commends their cooperation with men in good deeds: “ The believers, men and women, are protectors, one of another, they enjoin what is just and forbid what is evil they observe regular prayer, practice regular charity and obey God and His Apostle. On them will God pour Mercy; for God is Exalted in power, wise”. (9:71). In order to inculcate among them the women folk a will to serve the community, the Holy Prophet had days particularly fixed when he was to address them. At those gatherings, he not only taught the Islamic tenets but also persuaded them to contribute to communal and social welfare. Traditions record how liberally the women contributed in cash or kind whenever the Muslims had to face a national emergency. In obedience to the verse quoted above, Muslim women stood shoulder to shoulder with men in social work both at time of war and in the days of peace. On a field of battle, they made food for the warriors, maintained the supply of water and looked to the nursing of the wounded. In peace time, they formed the rear of the congregation of prayer, provided financial aids to the needy, joined the pilgrimage vitual and propaged Islam with as much zeal as men. If it was a question of Islamic law they would openly criticize. Did not an old woman find fault with the great Umar in the presence of public assembly and Umar had to admit his mistakes. It so happened that Umar was denouncing in a sermon from the Pulpit the practice of setting on women huge amounts as their dowry, when the old woman stood up and protested in these words: “Is the Caliph unacquintated with Qur’an which say that :Ye shall not demand back any portion of what you have settled on them, though it were a whole treasure.” (cf 4:20).

ECONOMIC RIGHTS:
Woman should be highly indebted to Islam having raised her economic status and given her extensive and independent rights. Fourteen hundred years back, Islam endowed her with right to own and inherit property in an age when even civilized societies treated her as a nonentity. Muslim women were then enjoying rights that their sisters in various parts of Europe and America do not possess even today. It was after a hard struggle that the U.S.A could allow to women the right to own and independently dispose property or enter into legal contract without the consent of her husband. The Qur’an announced fourteen hundred years ago: “From what is left by parent s and those nearly related there is a share for men and a share for women. Whether the property be small or large a determined share.” (4:7) Apart from the share due to women out of the property left by parents, Kinsmen and husband there are other sources they can utilize for pecuniary again. They may bargain for a respectable amount as their marriage portion at the time of nuptials. Having entered marriage contract, they received their maintenance money from their husbands who are legally responsible for it. The Shariah ordains that the husband must maintain his wife, no matter however weel-off and financially well placed she may be. The resources made available to women by Islam are simple enough to enable them to maintain a standard of living higher than that of men, and live in greater comfort and security. Men have a long bill to pay, they have to support wives, children and in many cases other dependants in need of help. Women, on the other hand, have all their wents, from the table to toilet, net by their husbands and are therefore in a position to lay by whatever they receive through inheritance, dower and gifts.

MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE RIGHTS
In pre-Islamic history society, parents often married their daughters to men whom the girls did not like. In the case, the husbands died or divorced them they could not think of a second marriage. Islam rooted out all those customs. Mutual consent is an essential condition under Islamic law for a valid marriage. No union is legal if it goes against the will of a woman. If she had been given in marriage before she attains maturity she may nullify the contract on coming of age. If she is maltreated, or the husband is physically deficient or undesirable for any other reason, she may forego her claim to the marriage portion or part there of or pay to the husband a specified amount mutually agreed to and thus get separation decreed by the court of a Qazi. This procedure is known as Khula. In some cases when the husband’s conduct is unfair, the Qazi may on his own discretion, order a separation without any such request by the woman. If the husband dies, the woman after the lapse of a waiting period is free in contract a second marriage of her choice. The kinsmen of the deceased husband, or the society have then no right to come in her ways or bring unlawful pressure to bear upon her to change her mind. A divorcee may also re-marry after the expiry of the waiting period. The taboo against second marriage as observed in certain quarters is an infection from Hindu society, it is against the law of Islam and repugnant to the tradition of the Holy Prophet, who by his own marriage with widows and divorces sounded a death knell to these superstitions. In a comprehensive verse, the Qur’an lays down the principle of equality of rights when it says: “….And woman shall have rights similar to rights against them, according to what is equitable…..”. (2:228).

LEGAL RIGHTS
In the eyes of Islamic law, civil or criminal, there is no distinction between man and woman, they both stand on a equal footing. The state is bound to protect the life, property and honour of a woman just as much as it is bound to protect the life, property and honour of it’s male population. On the other hand, in certain situation, the honour of women is a matter of greater responsibility, for instance when they may be exposed to danger in jungle, at time of a disturbance of law and order adverse criticism make much about the provision that equalize two women with one man when appearing as witnesses. It is regarded as an insult of female sex which infact it is not. It simple take into account some psychological traits of feminine mind, which though not yet undiscovered may one day come to light with the advance of psychological studies which are still in their infancy. Similarly, the verse which speaks of men as “Qawwamuna alan Nisa” literally meaning “ who stand over women” , is set up as a placard to advertise that inferiorities of women as assumed by the Muslim scriptures. It does not pay to be carried away by idealism and refuse to see facts. Down to the present day man stands as protector of woman and her maintainer in nine hundred and ninety nine cases of a thousand. It is then a factual statement of the relative interdependence of sexes in actual life, and practically no woman resents it at heart. There are so many things which she takes as matters of course, if left unsaid. In short, in the light of the verses and traditions already quoted which enjoin regard and respect for woman. This discrimination cannot be understood to imply an inferiority of status inherent in her sex.

RIGHT TO EDUCATION
Education to woman is recommended equally with men. The Prophet had arranged to hold separate meetings for their instructions. His wives too explained to them the tent touching the requirements peculiar to their sex,. Historical biographies, have on record names and brief life sketches of numerous female who repaired to the Holy Prophet or Hazrat Aisha or some other consort of his to be so instructed, and then handed down the instructions they had received to hundreds of narrators in the form of ahadeeth or traditions, which have been a source of guidance to millions of Muslims. The report traced back to Hazrat Aisha alone number 2210. It is through the wives of the Holy Prophet and other ladies who learnt at his feet and figured as traditionists and jurists that we have come by a considerable body of Islamic teachings for which we are gratefully indebted to these women living in the early days of Islam.

IMPORTANCE OF FEMALE EDUCATION
What importance was attached to female may be gathered from the fact that the Holy Prophet would not refuse it’s benefits even to slave girls. Again and again the companions were advised to be particularly careful about the education of their female slaves. Imam Buhari had said: The Prophet said: “ One who has a young slave girl and who educates her teaching her manners and refined ways and then set her free and takes her to wife shall be doubly blessed”. While testifying to the importance of education for female the tradition just quoted also proves that slavery was abho5rrent to the Holy Prophet, and not only did he persuade his followers to give the slave their freedom, but also did his best to improve the living conditions of this oppressed and helpless class, so that the slave might be picked from dust and degradation to function as respectable and healthy members of the society. This could be possible only when they were educated and assimilated in the community. It also lead to the conclusion that education was considered to be the criterion of honourable status. If the Prophet was so anxious for the education of female slaves, it goes without saying that he felt much more concerned about the education of free women.

WOMAN A BLESSING
In short woman before the advent of Islam, was a contemptible creature, a curse and an evil, but Islam extended it’s protection to the tender sex that lay crushed under the milling tyrannies, restored woman to honour and did not connive at any injustice in this respect, no door that might lead to wickedness and outrage of modesty was left un-shut. Sex instincts were disciplined into moderation and regularity by an elaborate enunciation of laws governing matrimony. Healthy ways for the multiplication of the race were instituted, family life was placed in a pleasant atmosphere and woman was declared not a curse, but an embodiment of peace and a blessing of God”. May Allah guide us right and easy our endeavour to practice Islam in totality. Amin.

Christianity EtcIslam And Women Liberation By Baba Ali Mustapha by 247tops(op): 1:56pm On Sep 30, 2015
HISTORICAL REFLECTION
The concept of Women’s liberation sprang up in the Euro- Christian World because of various form of injustice found in that society against women. Female see themselves marginalized in the political, educational and socio-economic spheres of life. This tread of decreasing respect for humanity in general and the women in particular is a consequence of the atheistic nature of the West. However, because of the lack of divine guidance in the feminist movement, the champion of the cause of women ended up doing more harm to the sanctity of womanhood than good. There is thus a need for the Muslim to understand that feminism is not the panacea for the evils of the Oppressed Women.
First, it will be pertinent to study the background against which feminist movement developed. Because the Western civilization take pride in tracing it’s root to ancient Greece and Rome, let us see what was the role of Women in the Greek democracy which was described as a great advance in the history of civilization.
The status of women in Greece was no more than that of childbearing slaves. In the words of Socrates: “woman is the greatest source of chaos and disruption in the world. She is like the defali tree which outward look very beautiful but if sparrows eat it they die without fail”.
Those were the words of the greatest philosopher. In Ancient Rome, the woman was a legal nonentity. She could not appear in court as a plaintiff, and in the eyes of the law she was regarded as an slowpoke. She was like a slave who could neither hold any civil or public office, nor be a witness, surety, tutor or curator, nor adopt a child or be adopted, nor make nor enter into contract.
With the advent of the Middle ages, women were “equal” to men only in soul. St. Paul wrote “ A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man” (1 Cor.11:7). Early Christian leaders enjoined woman to live continual penance for the evils she had brought to man. Was she not the one who persuaded Adam to taste the forbidden tree and on that account caused him to be cast off from paradise?
St. Tertullian said “ to women” each of you is an Eve, the sentence of God on this sex of yours live in this age: the guilt must necessarily live too, you are the devil’s gateway, you are the unsealer of that tree, you are the first deserter of Divine law, you are she who persuaded him when the devil was not valiant enough to attack. You destroyed so easily God’s image in man. On account of your desert, that is, death, even the Son of God had to die”.
In the era of Puritanism and Calvinism, woman was at her lowest social status in the 18th century.

THE MOVEMENT BEGINS:
With the advert of French Revolution, some effort was made to improve the status of women in Europe. Condorcet, a French Philosopher and Revolutionary wrote an essay on “The admission of women in full citizenship” in 1790. Mary Wollstonecraft was the first to draw the attention of the English-speaking world to the plight of women in her “VINDICATION OF THE RIGHTS OF WOMEN”. Mary Wollstonecraft, today considered as one of the pioneer of the women’s right movement was herself a victim of her society. Her father was a drunkard and she had to work at an early age to support her family. She even attempted suicide. Afterwards, she devoted her life to work in order to make the relationship between man and woman “ a rational fellowship instead of slavish obedience”.
Organised feminist appeared in the U.S.A in the 60’s with the development of the women’s liberation from two sources: First, young female student involved in the civil right anti-war movement. Second, American business and Professional women who established the National Organisation for Women (N.O.W) in 1966.

CONSEQUENCES:
The women liberation movement spread and publicized their demand. The feminists’ demands are centred round women’s education, employment, abortion, birth control including male contraception, child care for working mothers and family life.
The feminists contend that women should be allowed to have free abortion at will and abortion must be legalized. This is one of the evils taught by the feminists as it open the door to immorality and the murder of many innocent children yet unborn. If women can have coitus without risking unwanted babies, it is hardly possible to demand that female remain chaste.
The ‘basic unit of socialization’, the family, is in danger of extinction if women “Liberation” should have its way. They insisted that women should not accept the role of housewives and they denigrate the noble function of motherhood. This is a direct threat to the existence of humanity.
This misguided call for the “liberation” from the yoke of childbearing and motherhood is not without consequences. Women are now being used as sex sum bold in the advertisement industry. In a bid to liberate herself from male “control”, the feminist has only succeeded in further entrenching herself in the service of man, using her naked body to gratify his lust. The breaking up of families in countries like America has resulted in children who grow up without parental love or guidance and who end up as dangerous criminals. Witness the very rising crime wave in America. Collapse of families has also resulted in people seeking out new avenues for obtaining solace and support, cohabitation, multigenerational commons, new religion, drugs and alcohol. Unfortunately, the influence of feminist movements spread to Muslim lands as one of the weapons of cultural imperialism in the colonial and neo-colonial era. Some Muslim rulers and intellectuals were deceived into believing that the Western woman is a figure to be emulated by the Muslim woman. Egyptian ruler Mohammed Ali Pasha and Khedives Ali Pasha encouraged cultural imperialisms in bid to “free” Muslim women. The Tanzimat movement in Turkey went a long way to de-Islamize the Muslim woman in the name of ‘creating a better position for women’.
One of the misguided Muslim who attacked Islam under the guise of calling for ‘emancipation’ of Muslim woman was an Egyptian Judge, Qassam Amin. Qassam Amin attacked Purdah, polygamy and divorce as the cause of decay of the Muslims. His book Tahiri al-maraat (Women freedom) and Al-mar’at, al Jadiah (The New Woman) were full of slander against the pure Shariah. He was a pathetic example of how successful a Muslim could be de-personalized and brain washed by Western the rhetorics. Qassam Amin believed in the superiority of Western culture and morals. He wrote “Europe is ahead of us in every way, and although it is comforting to think that while they are materially superior to us, we are morally better but that is not true. The Europeans are morally more advanced and all classes posses the social virtue”. This shows the way in which Western Christian propaganda caused a Muslim to extol the virtues of the feminist campaign, a campaign which lead to “an epidemic of crime”, lawlessness and universal indulgence in illicit sex as a result of the complete disintegration of home and family.

THE ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE:
In Islam, the male and the female have some defined roles different from each other due to their difference in anatomy and physiology. This is the basis which provides in Islam, equality of the sexes but not sameness. Thus in Islam, the fundamental role of the woman is to develop life by rearing children and maintain her family and home. The status of woman in Islam has not left anything to be desired. The status of women was taken for granted to equal that of men, it was a matter of course, a matter of fact, and no one then considered it as a problem at all.
The Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W) was once consulted by a man who asked him which of my relative should I value most? The Prophet instantly answered “your mother”. The man asked (then who)? And repeated for the third time for both of which the Prophet repeated the same answer. When the man asked for the fourth time, then the Prophet answered “Your Father”. This shows that the mother is ranked three steps above the father only by virtue of her major role in the up-bringing of children. Therefore, brainwashing women against this important role amounts to enslavement not liberation. The woman is viewed as an independent personality, Allah (S.W.T) say “And their lord had accepted (their prayers) and answered the (saying): Never will I cause to be lost the work of any of you, be you male or female, you are members, one of another (Quran 3:195).
The Prophet (S.A.W) has made the seeking of knowledge compulsory on every Muslim male and female. The Shariah does not limit women to particular fields of study, nor does it curb women from putting into practice what they have. The Islamic Society in fact, depends on the education of women for the up-bringing of it’s young ones in proper Islamic cultures. In short, no other religion philosophy or ideology has given to the woman that Islam has given to her. The honour and respect given to women, political rights, rights to divorce and inheritance, economic and legal rights could not be improved upon those provided in the Shariah. The condition of women in the time of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) and in various Islamic societies throughout history is enough proof for this assertion.
At this juncture, one could not help noticing with dismay the alarming extent to which some culture and societies vehemently abuse those religious provisions husband who are meant to be the twin halves of their wives, as some positions only comparable to the little gods. They totally disobey the concept of amicable co-existence.
Women liberation found base in the West because of the agnostics and hedeonistic world view of that society. In the Muslim world, women liberation is surfacing only because of the ignorance of the Muslims and the way in which they repudiate the law of Allah for a ‘little price’. It is incumbent upon Muslims to seek the knowledge of their religion so as to properly appreciate the excellence framework of Islamic society and the roles assigned to its various components and to realize the empty slogans and confused ideologies wielded by the unbelievers either out of ignorance or out of sheer malice. Only then will Muslims be in a position to practice what their Lord has prescribed for them and only then will Muslims be able to resist and repudiate un-Islamic movement such as the fallacy called “women liberation”
