Depends on your age sha. But these days if hey even ask secondary school girls who their boyfriend is and they say they don't have, most of una no go believe them.

I don't really know what to contribute since that's not really my experience

I never assume somebody is married/ dating, it doesn't even cross my mind unless they say so

My family sometimes ask questions like that but not really in a pointed way, just curiously
