With Tunisia's Victory over Kenya today, Nigeria's game tomorrow becomes a 'must win' game, common super eagles!!!

The era of 'big teams' is well and truly over! You will have to earn the points, Super Eagles must be ready to work for the win tomorrow, Togo beat Cameroon today and Gabon is currently 2 - 0 up against Morocco with 15mins to go!!!

I won't be surprised if the match ends in a goalless draw. We are not inviting the right players to the Super Eagles squad. I don't see Mozambique beating Nigeria but I feel the current Eagles squad has a lot of defects. Amodu Shuaibu is also not technically up to the task. He has not done some things I thought he would do as soon as he was made coach of the national team.

Tunisia has stated well and I feel the descendants of Hannibal will give us a deadly run for the ticket to SA 2010. Something needs to be done urgently by nthe NFF and well meaning Nigerians before the bubble bursts. I wish Nigeria well. It would be very bad for Nigerian soccer if we miss the next world cup.

Re: Mozambique (0) Vs Nigeria (0) On Sunday 29th March by Redman44(m): 12:43pm On Mar 29, 2009
@ too soon

Don't get it twisted. I support the Super Eagles but I don't support the lack of foresight on the part of Amodu Shuaibu and the NFF. What should be uppermost in the mind of the NFF is the task of building a national team that will do the country proud in SA 2010. I want to see some home based players featuring in the starting line up of the Eagles. Clemens Westerhof started using players like Sunday Oliseh [ whom he spotted in the Nigerian league ], George Finidi [ also from the local league ], Edema Fuludu, Moses Kpakor, Isaac Semitoje, Friday Elaho etc for prosecuting his World Cup and African Nations Cup qualifying campaigns in the 90's. Oliseh and Finidi went to Europe under Westehof's guidance. This was before the World Cup in the United States in 1994. We need a coach who can sniff out soccer talent from unexpected places. Take it or leave it, that coach is Samson Siasia. His time as Eagles coach is coming.

Meanwhile, I wish Amodu well. Lets see what happens against the guys from Mozambique today.

Cheers.

Being a captain is not all about being the senior. Not everyone has leadership skills.
