Nigeria wont qualify because Tunisia has already beaten Kenya at home, and they would also beat Mozambique at home thats a possible 12 points from 2 minor nations, whereas Nigeria has lost 2 points already in Maputo, theirs no assurance that we would pick up 3 points in Harare (Kenya). Unless if Nigeria could go to Tunis and win, well we should be preparing for Brazil 2014. Nigeria wont learn! why did the NFA give the team to Amodu?

Nigerians, if we had ended the match 1-0 due to a Mozambican own-goal, we would actually be jubilant on nairaland and go on about how we would go on ahead to beat tunisia and qualify for the world cup. a bunch of inconsistent arm-chair soccer analysts

Get your heads out of the clouds already, it is obvious that with as many as 12 international soccer STARS we could not beat a bunch of our african brothers playin in the much scorned South African League. Our Football Administration (not our sterling players ) is the problem

What annoys me most is the manner in which they fumble.

SOCCER STAR: "Obafemi Promises hell for mozambique"
COMPLETE SPORTS: "Amodu says it's a do or die affair"
PUNCH: Mikel: "They will fall like a pack of cards"

HMM! THIS SOUND FEARFULLY TRUE. LONG B4 NOW, WE KNEW THAT THE EAGLES COULD NEVE BEAT TUNISIA AT HOME AND NOW WE'VE SQUANDERED OUR POINTS TO THE MINNOWS.
THIS IS GERMANY 2008 QUALIFIERS RE-ENACTMENT!

the problem of nigeria and nigerians is politics in everything. mikel was sick and was not fit for the game but instead of looking up for a replacement, the nff and other authorities were rather more interested in mapping out punishments in case mikel did not show up.
to make the matter worst, he lasted 90 mins. we have other players who are hungry to make an impact. how can a nigerian doctor certify mikel when chelsea doctors confirmed him unfit.
if nigeria has a doctor for real, why is non of our politicians go to them even for headache.a lot of things are wrong with football administration in nigeria and unless those political issues are addressed, the motivation and unity among the players will not come back.
if you look at the team, there is no commitments yet they will come out to say the spirit is high.
at the moment, the pdp govt has no interest in the game bcs it is not oil related hence the privaization urge and for one or two reasons, the game has been used to compensate a few for their political contributions in the rigging programmes of pdp.

Good I was too busy to watch the match on TV.

Nothing missed, only the heartache of watching a fumbling LIVE match tongue

I agree with you. And its for this kind of politicking that even foreign coaches, be it Berti Vogt or whoever, will not succeed in Nigeria.

Sometime ago, some forumers in one African soccer forum unanimously agree that ''Nigerians play football by mouth''. I agree.
If football is played by mouth then Nigeria would have won the world cup.

Back to the topic, I think the way out of the current entanglement is to beat Tunisia home and away. And that's possible, I believe!
If Moz plays against Tunisia the way they played us, then Tunisia will also be in for a long night. This Moz team can beat Tunisia too. Remember CIV and Senegal have already tasted their own from these guys. Tunisia may be the next. But if Tunisia has a good coach, they can tame these rampaging Mozambicans. All he needs is to learn from Naija and CIV's mistakes and evolve a game plan to cage them.

I'm still very confident that Nigeria will make this WC. I'm aware Tunisia is also an expert in WC qualifications( they were at the last 3 WCs), but I'm just positive.
Ekan l'omo okunrin ku!

There are no minors when it comes to qualifiers. Our players should really know what they are up to by now.
