Someone complained that water is finding its way to his parlour. He did not accuse the engineer not any artisans rather he blamed the door and went ahead to look for solutions.

What do you think about using stamped concrete floor indoors? It is definitely cheaper than using tiles.

Interior requires smooth finishing for comfort and elegance.

Exterior requires robust finishing to withstand and manage environmental conditions.

But it's still your choice if you want to over exaggerate!

Why don't you just plaster it the way you plaster wall as our fathers did in the days before tiles become the trend? I am seriously considering this option. You can choose upgrade to tiles if you become buoyant in the future.

My brother, I saw that in the US with white skirting boards by the walls . Very beautiful and cool. It was a pure dark grey normal concrete floor as we had them then in the 80s. I am also seriously considering the option in one of my areas to see how it would appear. The problem is that our artisans are not thinking in that direction. Every thing is about tiles. I am considering balcony, store, kitchen, laundry, closet and even staircase for this modern concrete flooring. Check online and see some magnificent modern concrete flooring. Who can replicate such is the problem here.

Excellent sir. There is nothing wrong with the third picture there. Perfect normal cement floor with white skirting boards by the wall ages. I am going with this cement floor for those places mentioned in my earlier post to see how it will look. I have seen this ordinary cement floor in many places abroad, including malls, parks and even airport. I don't understand the reason why it has taken the back stage in the Nigerian construction industry.

As it's for resale, very well not to spend too much to fence. The wire gauze option Spyder mentioned is good but I had a bad experience at Motunde- Ibadan/Ilorin express, thieves made away with the gauze. So I used trees instead from IITA for a fraction of the cost. It worked but the land is more than five acres though. You may want to look into this option as well and see if it will work for you.

Minimalism as a concept in interior decorations has much to be recommended. Neutral colors, thoughtful living spaces etc.

You get a sense of calmness as well, if your brain is not constantly but subliminally overworked with the ever present visual stimulation.

And, if you really want to go bohemian on a whim, do it with something easily removed/replaced (like a rug or painting). Perhaps not something permanently etched like these examples.

How does this work? Did you plant new trees?

Yes. The guys at IITA planted the trees in about 1.5meters interval in a straight line just like you would with a block fence. And it worked. As the trees mature, the demarcation and sense of presence was so pronounced that one can't make the mistake of encroachment. And to be honest, the trees added more value to the land than the stolen wire fence.

So how much is the tile per sqm that was said to be too expensive, so we should look at brutalist industrial concrete floor as an option?

People save up and look for nice tiles and tile your home. Tiles are the crowning glory if you pick wisely. How will I spend 30 million to build a duplex or bungalow, come put interlocking floor for inside parlour and even kitchen. Which kind tight-hand be that? Tiling na the last mile. Close eye and finish strong. It is what it is. You are going to spend millions any which way, so why finish shabbily if care is not taken.
