Obj conceptualized it! and it was almost suspended but for Jonathan who insisted it goes on and he drove it to completion.
http://dailyindependentnig.com/2015/03/alaoji-power-plant-not-abandoned-jonathan/

If not so, please let us know it's percentage completion by May 2007.

GEJ can't come and tell us in March 2015 how he saved us in 2008 or whatever date he's speaking of. He said many untrue and halftrue statements during campaign. Kindly verify this claim from another source or another person. The papers clearly confirm and history reminds us that the OBJ administration didn't just conceptualize Alaoji power plant, they approved and paid for it. It's part of the billions OBJ is said to have spent on power.

The link you gave doesn't mince words. It's a April 2008 report, and says it " discovered sharp disparity in the level of work done by contractors and the
payment made so far by government." Sahara reporters confirm N47.4 billion was approved for the
conversion of the Alaoji Power Plant to double
circuit; This is the OBJ government BTW.
www.saharareporters.com/2007/06/12/objs-last-minute-deals
www.allafrica.com/stories/200705100273.html

The site you gave says administrative reasons were the delays and issues involved. Equipment was ready since 2006 before approval. OBJ approved but it wasn't implemented quickly by the next administration.
" the ministries did not pay compensation to land
owners in areas where the plants were sited at
the right time, leading to delay to commence
work.
“Federal Government has not fulfilled its part of
the contract agreement, we are yet to receive the
25 per cent advanced payment in full, land for the
project is not free from encumbrances. Take the
Alaoji power plant, for instance, the movement of
turbines to the site from Onne port is delayed
because of the bridge on Imo River that could not
take the 200 tonnes turbine and the Ministry of
Works is not ready to provide alternatives,
whereas, the issue of the bridge was captured in
the agreement,” Since 2006, he said that Rockson had applied to the Federal Government for an alternative means of transporting four turbines from Onne for
installation at the appropriate site, only for the
government to turn down the request without a
convincing reason."

Even the contractor's website confirms this was really an OBJ thing since 2006. Like I said, it was not started by GEJ. The GEJ administration didn't start and finish any power plant in the South-east, simple.

The most ridiculous, thoughtless and absurd rubbish ever is beating your chest regarding any form of nonsense about either OBJ or GEJ they are the same PDP losers your cluelessly followed for 16 years with still nothing to show.

Here we have a whole region full of chest beaters, the so called light of the nation, the delusionally superior clans, the richest and the smartest still unable to collectively build a simple bridge

...but they are still at point A 30 years later still begging and crying for a bridge they they'll end up paying for out of their own pocket for 30 years.

Did the GEJ/OBJ/PDP did you a favor by asking you to pay for your own bridge via tolling while the rest of the country enjoy free bridges and other FG infrastructures?

Even sef, after paying for your own bridge for 30 years, the bridge reverts back to the FG and not you, not the region that paid for the bridge after 30 years tolling.

Means after 30 years, you can not make any money off that bridge, it belongs to the rest of Nigeria.

..but building your own bridge yourself means it belongs to you forever and you can do whatever you want with it, you can even toll it for yourself to fund other infrastructure projects in your region, but as it stands today, every kobo you pay via trolling goes straight to Germany and never stays in your community to develop your community..

The folks in this region are not strategic, their leaders are shallow, they are shortsighted, they lack vision and the socio economic future of their people.

Very sad and pathetic I must say..

Back from their ban...Please answer these questions:
1. What was the percentage completion of the alaoji thermal plant as at May 29th 2007?
2. Did GEJ lobby against the suspension of the project in 2007/2008 or not ??
3. Did GEJ commission the power plant in March 2015 or not! if he didn't then who did??
Note: The plant was just above foundation stage in March 2008 according to House committee on power and nobody countered it!

Straight answers to these questions will help us guage the level of sincerity of Jonathan to that project.

You're changing goalpost subtly, the point has clearly and repeatedly being that the GEJ administration didn't start AND complete any power plant in the South-east. It appears your English is poor. That simply means that they didn't build any of the power plants from start to finish. It's either they met the project and continued, or they started and didn't finish. I'm hoping I will not have to use your native language before you understand this simple fact.
Now on Alaoji, your link clearly said Alaoji was exceptional and well above foundation stage. .Money had already been paid, site ready and turbines bought since 2006. The only delay was transportation across the water. This was also confirmed by the contractor contractor website. Extract from your link." most of them were still at foundation level, with the exception of Alaoji, which work has progressed above the foundation stage.
Even with an appreciable work at Alaoji, Arumeni-Johnson still blamed the Ministries of Power and Steel and Works for allegedly slowing down the zeal of its company to feed close to 2000 megawatts of electricity into the national grid from the turbines it had imported into Nigeria.

Lol.... shifting goal post? I decided to shorten the scope of our argument to amplify GEJs sincerity yet you bluntly refused to answer any of the questions! But is not strange that a contract was awarded and fully paid for in the same year. How possible could it be that Alaoji was awarded and fully paid for all in 2006??

Yet as at March 2008, it is still a little above foundation stage! Came Jan 2009 when the board of NDPHC headed by GEJ was constituted billions of dollars was approved for same NIPP power infrastructure or was Alaoji the only project fully paid for?.

Go ahead and answer my questions and end the whole arguments.

There's no shortening of scope but plain deception and desperation to win an argument. The argument is that GEJ administration didn't carry out a 0% to 100% power plant project in the South-east. Any other argument, you're on your own. I'm not the cause of your poor comprehension.
Again nobody mentioned anything about FULLY paid or completed. The clear fact is that Alaoji plant started BEFORE GEJ administration. Appreciable work was already done there according to your own link. The contractor has already bought the turbines and some billions were approved in 2007. Probably you don't know how most contract work functions in Nigeria. Contractors do work and have debts before government and multinational corporations pay them. They use LPOs and other paperwork.
Work has progressed above the foundation stage, you decided to add "a little" to sound smart to yourself.

Lol... thought you said the "money have already being paid" and the only delay being "transportation" as at 2006?? How come is it still little above foundation after 2 years.

Little above foundation stage is now an appreciable work. lwkmh!!

Please Bro answer my questions! You have bluntly refused to acknowledge who robustly funded and commissioned the project.

Yes, i said that money has been paid, buttressing the plain point that the Alaoji plant project started BEFORE GEJ administration, it wasn't just a concept like you claimed.

Your questions have no bearing or relevance to my point. They prove nothing new. Alaoji was clearly not started by GEJ administration, this link above shows that too. i have no comments to make on one man in 2015 making an unverifiable claim about what he supposedly did about 8yrs ago. It also doesn't remove the fact that he turbines for Alaoji had been bought since 2006, work had already been done at an appreciable level. These points show already that Alaoji wasn't at 0%. Again, GEJ administration didn't start and complete any power plant in the South-east. Your chief hope witness wasn't started by GEJ administration, let these sayings sink in. The point has been made and very clear, you're permitted to dance or jog around it in circles. Its your choice/life.
