Worm cast is produced by worms after digesting organic matters.. They are rich in Nitrogen which my plants loves.

You have to create balance with it depending on the kind of soil you have and the demand of your crops which varies significantly.

A little about our soybeans experiment. Usually soy beans are grown once in a year in Nigeria, between August and October. They need water for 3 months and when their pods are ready for harvest sufficient heat to dry it up, which can only occur between November and December every year.

Under irrigation, it could be grown and harvested anytime before the next raining season. Farmers hardly have the capacity to do this. With vertical Sack farming, a lot can be achieved. Soy beans are nitrogen fixing plants with powerful roots system that can enable us use the soil twice without changing it. After soy beans harvest, we intend to plant high nitrogen feeding plant in the same bag.

Local trellis for our climbers.. Cucumber and ugu.. This will allow us to dish out organic pesticides under the leaves where those tiny illegal harvesters love to hide and do damages.

This week alone we received about 6 visitors who are nairalander needing mentoring and training for this unique farming system... Many more have also booked their visits, it's really interesting how things have turned out so far. I have ever received request from Peru and Rhodes Islands concerning this phenomenon... I am really overwhelmed with results so far. Special thanks to pavore9 and many other folks that followed this thread with enthusiasm.

We will be moving to the next phase of expanding this project big time with special considerations for nairalander in terms of training and first hand visit and access to our platform. Some things needs first hand experience and practice!

So far we are creating the great future we saw... Even though the journey was really dark.

@organic the stones i see you putting in the sacks on top the soil, is there any purpose they are serving?
Re: Vertical Sack Farming Made Easy by organicfoods(m): 9:48pm On Jan 30, 2016
The stones are devine... Especially when the bags are big and plants are grown round it.

The stones allows fast water penetration... I also set it in a manner to allow nutrients feeding... Organic precisely.
