must Yoruba's compete with your people?
did any Yoruba complained to u that he's angry with ur people? am very sure u stay in alaibo the way you talk.
and let me tell u, what your people do is not COMPETITION! I know iboes too well, you people are filled with HATE, ENVY & JEALOUSY. . even among yourselves. I just laugh when I see Biafra thread all over nairaland. like igboes are not up to 15 grin.

Diabolic Yorrobber clown and expert in evil concoctions, read the hard truths from your kinsmen:

CreamyBanana:
That is nothing but the truth. I am a Yoruba man from Ondo state but I must say that Yoruba are the most wicked and hypocritical tribe in the world. Don't take their smile as love. They are the devil himself.

A Yoruba man will be laughing with you and be killing you at the same time. All the lecturers I ever had problems with were not only Yoruba but from the same state with me. They will be showing you around as their own brother but behind your back, they will be planning on how to destroy you and make sure you never reach their standards.

Yorubas prefer to destroy their own rather than help them. They don't want those below them to succeed. They always promise and fail. If a Yoruba man promise you a job, just forget it. You will just be wasting your time reminding him.

I have got more helps from Igbos and Hausas than even those that claim to be uncles. The only thing they are good at is making promises that they will never fulfil.

When I was looking for admission, it was an Igbo man that I did not even know from Adams that helped simply because he thought I was Igbo. A Yoruba man will never do that for his brother. Instead, they will be looking for every possible ways to bring him down.

My sister had problems with her supervisor who was a Yoruba man. But I never had a problem with my own supervisor who was a Hausa man.

I don't hate my people. I just hate their hypocrisy. People from other tribes are busy building their people and taking over our lands while we scheme on how to destroy ourselves.

I am in Ife. Please, anyone in Ife should go to Lagere now. All Igbos and Hausas have opened shop while my brothers are still sleeping and scheming evil against one another.

In Ilorin, Igbos, Hausas and Chinese have taken over everything because they keep on grooming and helping their brothers. Yorubas do not know how to build. They only know how to destroy one another.

Yoruba e ronu.
https://www.nairaland.com/2598007/yoruba-worst-tribe-world
CreamyBanana:

You know I am telling the truth.

Do you know Igbos secrets of how they are taking over Lagos? Because, they will own a shop, train their clansman for a while and help him set up his own business. They are spreading while we are shouting instead of helping ourselves.

dominique:
I'm Yoruba and I painfully agree to some of the things said by the Op. When it comes to being your brother's keeper, most Yorubas are lacking in that regards. My mum told me of an experience she had when her car got stuck in mud. It was the Yoruba guys that told her to pass that area that the road is not that bad. When she did and got stuck, they demanded to push out the car for a fee. She got angry and told them that rather than pay them, she would look for other people to push out the car and pay them. While she was still tongue-lashing them, two Igbo (not sure of their tribe sha) guys came out from their shop and helped her push out the car. She offered them money and they declined. She felt so ashamed for her people, I also felt ashamed. I won't say my people are evil tho. Evil knows no tribe or religion.

Yoruba e ronu tunwada (think and change your acts)
bakynes:
Am Yoruba and you can confirm from my previous comments. I agree with the OP on the point that we don't help ourselves. Even while I was in the UK, I could notice the trend among Yorubas. Indians, Jamaicans, Ghanaians help their brothers and sisters to come to the UK and help them get papers but We Yorubas even report our fellow brothers to the Home office, we don't accommodate our family members new in a foreign country for more than 6 months. WhIle in Nigeria I met with a lot of family friends who had companies but they kept on promising on helping me secure a job. Majority not all like to see you down and want you to keep begging them for money than helping you stand on your own. Igbos on the otherhand setup their brothers to stand on their own.

So in your silly mind only igbo can import goods. Keep crying and delude yourself the more.

Let me tell you, before igbo in Lagos were the Lebanese in trading, tell me where they are now in Lagos? Lagos survived their exit. If igbo stop trading in Lagos other tribes will take it up. Lagos has been a very prosperous city before the birth of Nigeria itself and it will continue to be if Nigeria ceases.

We can even start to boycott igbo traders if care is not taken. You are not doing us any favour get that into your flatie skull.

Today has been an Agbero-free day at Alaba International Market, not a single Agbero could cross Alaba today following the assault we mounted on them yesterday. Although we had low turnout, the few of our customers who were able to come today were very happy with our service, at least they're assured nobody will extort them on their way out.

We urge all lovers of justice to support our agitation to eradicate these unscrupulous elements from our markets. Business activities in Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos were on Tuesday disrupted by marauding gangs of youths, who attacked the electronic section of the market and carted away goods worth millions of Naira. Over 159 mobile phones were stolen from seven shops at St Peter’s Bus stop by the hoodlums, who scared the traders away with dangerous weapons and looted their wares.

One of the traders in the market, who gave his name as Onyema, said two rival groups of street boys were tugged in a duel over the control of the market. A particular group, identified as the ‘Baale Boys’ reportedly launched a reprisal attack on another group operating at the electronics section, following a previous attack on their members.

It was gathered that Tuesday’s attack heightened tension in the market, as the hoodlums threw broken bottles, clubs and dangerous weapons at various directions. Not even the presence of an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC), marked RRS, which was permanently stationed in the market, could prevent them from taking the law into their hands.

The Chairman, Task Force, Phone Dealers Association in the market, Mr Ebere Nwafor, confirmed the attack on his members. He said 159 pieces of mobile phones were stolen from seven phone dealers. Some of the victims, he said, include: Mr Leo Ibekwe, Queen Etolobi, Mr Agozie, Mr Aku, among others.

Dozens of policemen were drafted to the troubled scene, but some of the traders confided in Daily Sun that the problem was not yet over. Further investigation by Daily Sun revealed that various groups operating in the market have been on battle line over the collection of levies and tolls from commercial bus drivers, motorcycle operators and tricycle operators. The proceeds of these daily collections often provoke war among the groups trying to assume control of the daily till.

A bus driver in the market, who gave his name as Afolabi, said commercial bus drivers pay as over N500 to different groups in the market. According to him, the hoodlums would quickly smash the vehicle side-mirror or pluck out fuel-tank covers of drivers that fail to comply.

kenny987:
Exactly! Why the fascination with the Igbos? Are they threatened by their number? U just assume that they want to take over your area but the people are minding their business. Live and let live...the Igbos/other tribes should not be exploited because they are in Lagos. It is all Nigeria! When people say Igbos don't 'respect' their 'hosts' I wonder whether they understand the meaning of the term. A host accommodates u at his mercy, free of charge but here, nothing is given to the Igbos or any other tribe free of charge. They pay their way through as expected and the law entitles everyone to move and settle anywhere within Nigeria. It also protects everyone from harm or exploitation.

So when some 'agberos' come demanding money from traders, importers and even customers it should be frowned upon and discouraged! Is it because they are Igbos that that they should keep wasting their hard earned money on touts? As citizens of Nigeria they are entitled to their choice of candidates or votes. No Oba has the right to dictate their choice or threaten them. That is criminal and should be condemned at all costs cos we don't operate a one party system in Nigeria. Lagos is also not a yoruba village, it is a cosmopolitan city with a mix of people both Nigerian and foreign and that must be recognised and taken into account at all times. No Igbo person will disturb traditional rites or even pretend to vie for the position of Oba in anywhere cos it is not their business! However if those rites infringe on the Igbo man's rights to peaceful occupation and enjoyment of his property and business, u can be sure he will protest and rightfully so! In that case, the 'hosts' have disrespected the lawful residents in the area and also broken the law and so should be called to question for it. Furthermore, the Igbos will not lose their traditions and identities too because they are in Lagos!

So u should answer ur question which I will fine tune a bit...why exactly are the Yorubas in Lagos fascinated with the Igbos?
