Re: The Movie Club by JeSoul(f): 8:07pm On Jun 01, 2010 |
Biutiful it certainly is. Gramps Morgan made his presence felt. Arie with her gorgeous lyrics. Awesome track. Not the nonsense solja boy crap prevailing these days. @JK, Denzel! |

Re: The Movie Club by obinna5000(m): 9:29am On Jun 02, 2010 |
So, voting, reviewing and rating movies has failed all of a sudden in this topic. Has a Nigerian movie ever been reviewed on this topic? |
Re: The Movie Club by justkunmi(m): 9:37am On Jun 02, 2010 |
Obi Wats the problem naa? Lol. . We still get to review movies naa and rate. And this just a one time thing. We'll revert to the old system. Jus go with the flow. And yes we voted. And yes. A nigerian movie has been reviewed before. We reviewed 'Sango'. Go to the first page and see how it fared. You have any Nigerian movie you want reviewed? |
Re: The Movie Club by v3: 9:39am On Jun 02, 2010 |
Obi, This 'reverse psychology' act no gel at all . @JK, JeSoul et al. . Do we do a background intro on his early days before going into his movies OR do we just pick his movies and review em. |
Re: The Movie Club by justkunmi(m): 11:04am On Jun 02, 2010 |
V3 Watever rocks your boat. . . Bur a lil background would do. Jus don't make it like True Hollywood Story. Lol. . |
Re: The Movie Club by v3: 9:02pm On Jun 02, 2010 |
Sorry JK for taking this long, still typing my own version of his bio before coming up with movies. Will post before sleeping. |
Re: The Movie Club by eldee(m): 9:07pm On Jun 02, 2010 |
@JK Which one be bio again?? I know how y'all black people love Denzel but a biography is going to far na . . . haba. Give me the name of the movie, let me go watch and come back with a review jare . . . |
Re: The Movie Club by obinna5000(m): 9:34pm On Jun 02, 2010 |
@JK I'm sure very soon we'll see us reviewing "Megan Fox". Lets just do this Denzel Washington movies review and then go back to our normal voting, reviewing and rating movies. Lets just talk about his movies and not his life history. Life history will be going beyond the scope of the topic. |
Re: The Movie Club by v3: 10:06pm On Jun 02, 2010 |
O.K After much much and no bio, i've shortlisted 3 movies 1 - American Gangster 2 - The Great Debaters 3 - The book of Eli Do we vote for a movie to review or we just go with the hierarchical system |
Re: The Movie Club by MadMax1(f): 11:00pm On Jun 02, 2010 |
Don't bring up Megan Fox na. Before JK comes with one of his vomit-inducing sickening love posts about her, and out goes my lunch. Haven't seen any of those three Denzel movies. But seen others. Deja Vu, Malcolm X, Training Day, The Pelican Brief, Man on Fire, The Siege, John Q, Inside Man, etc. Now there's a good-looking man. |
Re: The Movie Club by obinna5000(m): 11:15pm On Jun 02, 2010 |
Best of Denzel Washington - Glory (1989) - Malcolm X (1992) - Philadelphia (1993) - Training Day (2001) - John Q (2002) - Inside Man (2006) - American Gangster (2007) Worst of Denzel Washington - Ricochet (1991) I hate this movie with a passion - Mo' Better Blues (1990) |
Re: The Movie Club by Nobody: 12:33am On Jun 03, 2010 |
my top 5 - John Q great acting and should have gotten an oscar for that movie - Malcom X he play the role so well that you could have mistaken him for the real deal. - Philadelphia - The hurricane - Antwone fisher/Inside man/ American gangster/Training day/He got game my worst 3 - Manchurian candidate such a bad remake - Devil in a blue dress oh lawd!!!! - The bone collector handicapped Denzell, i dont think so! |
Re: The Movie Club by MadMax1(f): 1:16am On Jun 03, 2010 |
He was tremenous in GLORY. Tom Hanks stole the show in Philadelphia. He, Banderas as his lover, and Denzel? Sensory overload! |
Re: The Movie Club by justkunmi(m): 9:23am On Jun 03, 2010 |
My best Denzel movies Pelican brief. He was exceptional and obviously still very young so he had all the energy John Q. Very believable acting Out of time Malcom X Training Day Worst movies American Gangster. Oh lawd! I slept halfway through the movie. Russel crowe was annoying in it too. Just blah. Manchurian Candidate. Jeez! Shaw. Raymond Prentice Shaw. Deja vu. Stupid! He did well but the movie itself was crap. |
Re: The Movie Club by justkunmi(m): 9:25am On Jun 03, 2010 |

Re: The Movie Club by JeSoul(f): 1:33pm On Jun 03, 2010 |

My fav denzel movie of all Book of Eli - powerful My so-so Denzel movies: The Hurricane The Preachers Wife Crimson Tide Training Day - yes powerful performance bt not my fav Out of time Deja vu The Bone Collector Inside man - sorry, I didn't find anything special about his performance here My 'what were you thinking Denzel' movies: American Gangster - sorry, but I hate, despise, utterly regret seeing that useless movie The Taking of Pelham 123 - like seriously dude? Manchurian Candidate - movie was just blah |
Re: The Movie Club by v3: 1:50pm On Jun 03, 2010 |

Re: The Movie Club by obinna5000(m): 2:05pm On Jun 03, 2010 |
This Denzel Washington movies focus is quite interesting. I'm suggesting we do "Films Based on Video Games" next time. Chei!! My list will have more bad films than good ones. |
Re: The Movie Club by JeSoul(f): 2:11pm On Jun 03, 2010 |
obinna5000:And if you're thinking of rubbishing my Lara Croft, you betta think twice homeboy |
Re: The Movie Club by v3: 2:11pm On Jun 03, 2010 |
^ God of War would be useless if made into a movie The 'avatar' game is way more useless than the movie itself Naruto had best be left as a manga. . else i'm done with chakras James Bond games are useless, the movies are pretty good though D'you say Lara Croft? *long hiss* Back to reviews |
Re: The Movie Club by JeSoul(f): 2:15pm On Jun 03, 2010 |
The one video game turned into a movie that readily comes to mind is Super Mario Bros. Anyone remember that? what a disaster! lol |
Re: The Movie Club by JeSoul(f): 2:19pm On Jun 03, 2010 |

Re: The Movie Club by obinna5000(m): 2:21pm On Jun 03, 2010 |
@JeSoul OK! "The Siege (1999)" is another good Denzel Washington movie. |
Re: The Movie Club by obinna5000(m): 2:24pm On Jun 03, 2010 |
@JeSoul "Super Mario Bros" movie was pure thrash. "Mortal Kombat" & "Street Fighter" movies are also crap. |
