After seeing 'The Last Airbender', 'The Losers' and 'The A-team' I've sworn not to watch another movie starting with 'The' this year. No "The Expendables' for me.

I feel your pain Rave. I'm thinking of doing something crafty with this Inception movie. Meanwhile, we ought to have a hall of fame where movies that rate over 90% should be, eh, JK.

@JeSoul. Lol at the bit about technical complexities and complex technicalities. I have a feeling like the film was made to meet a deadline. With 3 to 6 months, it coulda been fine tuned such that folks tearing their hair out will be tipping their wine glasses instead. Truth be told, Inception is a bit elitist. It can make you feel really dumb but since most will watch it 9 times, who will admit that but me.

Oya. Next movie.

@eldee
75% ? I was thinking 80 and above from you.
Yes the movie had alot of people on their seats but init the same thing with Matrix? Yes, some of us had to watch it more than once to fully get the message but aren't movies supposed to make u "think"?

@JeSoul
You didn't notice the children wearing the same clothes? Bite me!
Saw the movie twice the same day. Noticed the clothes the first time and the ring the second time. Vesc knows about the ring. Lol.

And I'll say 12 monkeys is more confusing. Still dunno jack what the movie is about. And I'll never tell you how many times I've seen it. Lmao.

@vesc
Yea a hall of fame is important. I guess that idea came to you through inception *i did that after I finished with Goodluck* lol.

@ everyone
Nice reviews everyone. Nice.

ill do the review summary in a bit.
*plenty reviews and ratings. I'm dreadin punchin calculators to get the average rating* lol

*Nodding in agreement* I see what you mean. 9 times? lol. I think these guys will come up with a sequel . . . "Conception"

In the final scene? no. I was busy reflecting on the gorgeousness of Gordon-Levitt.

Lol, 12 Monkeys is a brain-twister. But it so worth it.

See this one . . . you can slice, dice, theorize, analyze, conclude, re-analyze, re-conclude all the complexities of Inception, but common 70% + 90% + 75% = ______ you dey dread do?

I'm not a big fan of sci-fi movies . . . their biggest selling points are based on B.S like HD cameras and CGI.

But do you think Inception will still remain on Dark Knight level this time next year??
Re: The Movie Club by obinna5000(m): 9:09pm On Aug 18, 2010
@JeSoul
I still have mixed feeling about the idea of doing a sequel for "Inception". When "The Matrix" first came out in 1999, people liked it. But when those two sequels were released in 2003 (Reloaded and Revolutions), the whole thing sucked.
If Christopher Nolan still handles the sequel for "Inception", then it will be good. I hope.  undecided

@eldee
I like both "Inception" and "The Dark Knight". cool

Dark Knight will still stay longer than Inception in everyone's lists.

I will still be saying it for a lifetime. I like both "Inception" and "The Dark Knight".

Erm . . . the Dark Knight is technically a sequel.
Re: The Movie Club by obinna5000(m): 9:28pm On Aug 18, 2010
@eldee
I meant the follow-up to "The Dark Knight". I heard Joseph Gordon Levitt is being considered to play The Riddler.
Re: The Movie Club by vescucci(m): 9:41pm On Aug 18, 2010
@Eldee. Public acclaim is a faulty representation of which film is better than which. I think TDK appeals to EVERYONE while Inception does not. There's no concrete correlation between what the masses like and what's the best. While I think TDK is the better film (only slightly) you cannot deny Inception's freshness and originality. Its major asset is its major undoing. . . . . . Its gargantuan head scratching index.
Re: The Movie Club by JeSoul(f): 10:37pm On Aug 18, 2010
I'm with Eldee, the legend of TDK will far outlast Inception, for reasons Vesc astutely noted above. One has mass appeal the other is "elitist". For me TDK was awesomeness personified. Inception - awesomeness mystified.

  Not trying to smush the subject but . . .

@Obinna, I saw "Valentines Day" by force few weeks ago on a flight, and shockingly, I enjoyed it immensely. Why you give am F before now? smiley
Re: The Movie Club by obinna5000(m): 10:43pm On Aug 18, 2010
@JeSoul
"Inception" and "The Dark Knight" are still awesome for me. cool Somebody please give Christopher Nolan the Best Director award already.

As for "Valentine's Day", the story did not make any sense. I know its about different individuals, but the interconnecting stories really sucked for me.
Re: The Movie Club by vescucci(m): 11:18pm On Aug 18, 2010
Obinna is a man. JeSoul is a woman. Vescucci hasn't seen Valentine's Day though.
Re: The Movie Club by obinna5000(m): 11:27pm On Aug 18, 2010
@vescucci
Whether you're a man or a woman, the movie "Valentine's Day" sucks.

So, just because JeSoul is a woman she will automatically like "Sex and the City 2". grin
Re: The Movie Club by justkunmi(m): 11:44pm On Aug 18, 2010
Why are we comparin TDK and Inception? They are on 2 very opposite divides. Only common ground is Nolan.
Compare Inception with Momento and 12 Monkeys.

That being said Inception is INTELLIGENT. And like Vesc said, its intelligence is its very flaw.
Only the movie can surpass itself.

JeSoul
Oya help me calculate the average ratings then. Lol. *puppy eyes*

Next movie
I suggest Salt.
