Emperoh: GBAM!!! Nani is useless. . . . . .I seriously doubt he will ever come good! |
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Sauron1: 12:56pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
MrCrackles: Both of em are good in a less-quality team. We are talking about Man Utd here FFS. . . . .As from next season, Valencia will be playing in the community shield and UEFA Champions League. That is the difference. I will rather have Palacios than Valencia. Palacios is a beast and i hope we get him when Scholesy retires. Emperoh: Any player coming to join a BIG CLUB like United knows he would sit on the bench from time to time. Berbatov did not start in Rome. . . . . . .Huntelaar was warming the bench in Real Madrid so he should know it would be worse in Man Utd. All i know is Ferguson gives new signings loads of chances to adapt to the GAME PLAY of the team. When Tevez was the new bride, Fergie played him in every game(same as Berbatov). |

Ask your self this question. . . . . .Who is going to get the goals for Man Utd?SAF is buying a striker. Valencia wasnt bought to score goals he was bought to hasten the exit of Nani Benzema averaged a goal per game last season and yet hes over rated Benzema was the highest goal scorer in lique 1 prior to last season and you call him over rated at 21? Benzema is a waste-pipe.how can the defination of a waste pipe be what i see on his profile are you high on bar beach water? Did you not see Evra and Ribery against Nigeria. are they over rated too cos of what they did against us? why do you argue like this? If Benzema is over rated, the Ronney is what? Benzema is a small turd. . . . . .He is over-rated and i don't even know what he brings to the team.ur Rooney fits this description too |
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by MrCrackles(m): 12:58pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
~Sauron~: That is it. . . . .PALACIOS is heavyweight and will do more overall in a decent team compared to Valencia. . . . Valencia who knows, might explode. . . . . Realising he will be playing for a top team, will prolly bring more out of him! |

Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Sauron1: 1:05pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
tkb417: Valencia is not as good as Nani. Nani's worst season is better than Valencia's BEST season at Wigan. I have STATS to prove that. Technically, there's no winger in the EPL better than Nani. . . . .If he can sort out his decision making, Nani will be greater than RONALDO.
In the French league? Benzema plays for a club that has been winning the domestic league for 7 seasons. It's like saying Govou is world class because he scores for LYON. Benzema won't score 10 goals in the PREM.
Don't be deceived by players playing in the lower leagues. Ribery, Benzema, Klose, Podolski et al are rubbish players who would fold up when they come to the EPL. Look out for players in the EPL, La Liga and Serie A. I will rather have Fabiano, Diego Forlan, Huntelaar, Guissepe Rossi than Benzema.
How can you compare Benzema to Wayne Rooney? Rooney embodies strength, vision, goals, awareness etc. If he's as self-centred as Ronaldo, Rooney will be scoring 30 goals per season EASILY!!! |
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Emperoh(m): 1:07pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
~Sauron~: There is really no need to create this situation. . . . we don't need a big name signing in attack that is why i am a bit disposed to Huntelaar His productivity though is still unproven. If the Gignac guy is good, then get him. All i don't want is someone who will unsettle the club like Tevez did and complain like a 3year old. I wonder why Fabiano is not getting the mention here. If we can, get him, Huntelaar is no match. As for Palacious, i have enough water carriers and wouldn't want another Bone Crusher Neville Hargo, Ado, Fletch are just more than enough. Everything we do now is to fashion out a new attack line-up and formation. We need to score goals. People go kill us here with taunts if we don't score. Dem go talk say na because Ronaldo comot. |

~Sauron~: But you used to have the highlighted at OT. . . . . .Why did you let them go? |
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Nobody: 1:14pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
Sauron, Please use total stats, not just starts. Huntelaar isn't exactly a sharp-shooter.He didn't set La-Liga alight. There's almost nobody around to buy.Accept that fact. Villa won't leave spain. Valencia won't score 20 in his first season, but tell me how many people do so.He can blossom.as you say Nani will. |

The KB drama is getting stranger. i believe United are playing some kind of game. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1196784/Real-deal-Lyon-deny-Real-Madrid-beaten-Manchester-United-30m-Karim-Benzema.html |
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Sauron1: 1:20pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
Eastbay: He joined Real Madrid in January. . . . .We all know January signings can be 50-50. Evra check! Vidic check!! and many others in the football world. Huntelaar came on as a sub in 7 matches in the last 5 mins. . . . . .Blame the manager, not the player. All i know is he scored 8 goals in 13 STARTS.
There are PLENTY to buy. . . . .United are not aggressive enough in the market. I expect Fergie to be using the media to unsettle players. Place a 50 milla bid on Villa and watch how Valencia will lick their dry lips. . . . .Unsettle Eto'o. . . .
Huntelaar!!! MrCrackles: There's a buy-back clause on Rossi's deal when we sold him to Villareal. Diego Forlan was raw when he was at OT and with the likes of Ruud Van Nistelrooy and a very FIT Solskjaer in the team, he had no chance. The coast is clear for him to make an impact now. If he's willing to play here, why not? |
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by tkb417(m): 1:27pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
The KB drama is getting stranger. I think UTD are behind these stories lets see what stories come tmr. We shall see who we get at the end. All i know is SAF knows who he wants to buy and hes gonna get him |
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Sauron1: 1:30pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
tkb417: United have offered 38 milla to Lyon. . . . . .Benzema might be on his way to OT this week. Fergie will want to sort this out before pre-season. |
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Emperoh(m): 1:31pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
Eastbay: I think there is aploy somewhere. . . , like Sauron said, we are not using he media very well. Its a know fact on what the media can do. . . forgotten the CR7 saga? Beckham etc. As far am concerned, media hyped players don't normally live up to expectations The pressure is what some of them can't handle. . . . . . pls someone ask Fergie to big for Fabiano!!!!!! Guys Don't you think we need a stand in for Rio? hte guy's back problems are gettting too much!! |
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Nobody: 1:34pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
Sauron, First off, huntelaar is a bit of a disappointment to Real. Why do you think they are trying to get Benzema? He can't even dislodge Baba (Raul),not to talk of Higuain. The January signings you mentioned struggled,i agree. But real isn't like united (i.e. they wnt instant returns on investement whereas we give players a lot of time to mature and grow). And about half of those goals Huntelaar had were scored in garbage time of the season (i.e. after Barca had all but sewn up the title). About the transfers,United rarely splash the cash around unless there is a long-identified target. So don't expect united to throw 50 mill on Villa, who by all accounts isn't prepared to leave the comfort zone of Spain. and apart from Ruud, no one has scored 20+ in his first season in England (I mean in recent time and I apply it to foreign imports).Huntelaar isn't even looking like he'll buk that trend,it still remains to be seen from him. As for Forlan,Fergie doesn't go for people he's sold.Except Hughes who he bought back from Barca in 1990,i think. Then,United's strike force was in dire need of striker, and Fergie made that signing out of desperation. So don't expect Forlan, who depends on slow pace to be effective j(ust like in the la la liga) to come back to United.Again my opinion. |

Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Ibime(m): 1:46pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
debosky: Ogasa, Palacios was sold for £14m not £12m and that was when the transfer market was more stable. There is no problem buying Ashley Young. . . . Valencia is not a direct competitor with Young. . . . both can play in the same team if SAF wishes. . . . I dont see any other winger at Man Utd to take their place if both were at the same club. . . . besides, Young is more like £22m. . . Again, Valencia is not a direct replacement for Ronaldo. . . . there is NONE! Valencia would allow Rooney to reclaim his position upfront - something he has been bugging Alex Ferguson about. Berbatov is not sure of a starting place next season. . . . so no need to worry about who will get into the box to finish Valencias crosses. I would have loved Valencia at Chelsea. . . . Can you imagine facing a team with a midfield containing Valencia, Essien and Lampard. . . .three human machines who have end product. . . . you would think you were fighting the war of the worlds. . . . Valencia is a player you never need to worry about tactically. . . . he will cover your whole flank, from goal-line to goal-line, producing results at both ends. As for someone comparing Huntelaar to Benzema, that person must be smoking Morrocan Hashish. . . . Huntelaar has no contribution outside the box. . . . Benzema is an all-rounder, good in any situation. . . . if you want a finisher, why not buy Marcus Berg. . . . he is a killer like Huntelaar in the box. . . . and his play outside the box is similar to Van Nistelrooy's. . . . |

Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Sauron1: 1:53pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
Ibime: I don't want players with contribution outside the box. . . . .We have enough players doing that. Van Nistelrooy was useless outside the box but he made a significant impact when he joined Man Utd. All i want is a goal scoring wizard. . . . . . .I don't care how lazy that person is. United needs a CLINICAL finisher. . . . .Someone who would score 5 goals in 6 attempts. |
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Ibime(m): 2:00pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
~Sauron~: Van Nistelrooys contribution outside the box was underrated. . . . RVN's contribution outside the box is 10 times better than Huntelaars. . . . this was even highlighted during Euro 2008. . . . there were some things I saw in Marcus Berg that reminded me of RVN. . . . Man Utd and the World as a whole have gone beyond 'the fox in the box' stage. . . .that fox in the box better be able to play some football as well, otherwise he's a tactical liability. . . . Talking about Benzema. . . . I have always known Benzema as a left-winger. . . . .when he first started playing for Lyon, he was on the left-wing. . . . he has skills beyond your average striker. . . . when he moved upfront, his combination of skills he learnt on the wing and finishing reminded me of a certain Ronaldo Lima. . . . Benzema is the future. . . . given the chance to sign a 21yr old of such undoubted quality, any manager should be happy. . . . his cash is redeemable. . . |
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Sauron1: 2:10pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
Ibime: He had improved his hold-up play by Euro 2008. His years at OT, Van Nistelrooy was a liability outside the box. . . . . .He doesn't contribute nada. All he wanted was an early cross from Beckham/Neville and bang. . . .he scores. He cannot even dribble or run with the ball apart from the goal he scored against Fulham(which was a one-off). Goals win matches. United need a goal machine next season. I don't want to entrust such responsiblity to a 21 yr-old French striker in his debut season.
I agree age is still on his side but puhleeeeeeeeeeeeeaze. . . . . .Age won't win these games for us. Berba and Rooney are deep-lying strikers. . . . .When Macheda came on against Villa, he was the only player marauding Villa's box. It wasn't a surprise he got the winner when the likes of Berba and Rooney were doing a midfielder's job. |
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Emperoh(m): 2:13pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
Sauron Comparing Benzema to Huntelaar is like comparing Sauron to Tumfulu There is just no match. . . . . if Huntelaar was good, there is not way the bench will creaking with his weight in the first place Also, the forward line of the RM team we saw for over two seasons needed someone that will take over as the front man If Huntelaar was that good, it was his for the taking. . . .Raul was losing it, RVN was blighted by injury, Higuain was like a car without plug Robben wa pathetic. . . . . it doesn't end with bicycle kicks and all that, he needed to be sharp, alert and accurate He was just not all these. . . . i will not put a cross on his coffin cos of one thing; It was his first season. At the same time, he can crucified given that he came from a very similar league. Huntelaar is not as good as Benzema, he has a very long way to go. Moreover, the Eredivisie is just the same thing with the ligue 1 in quality lately. Pls when is Hargo likely to return. . . . . i won't watch Man U again if that guy doesn't return on time |
Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by tkb417(m): 2:13pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
I don't want players with contribution outside the box. . . . .We have enough players doing that. Clubs dont play like that again UTD will NEVER play like that again Nobody wants a tap in striker in his club Even the Villa you talk about interchanges brilliantly with Torres in Spain and he contributes some pretty footballing movements to build ups Hunter is a no go area if we are wise i trust SAF. he wont touch him with a 10m pole Talking about Benzema. . . . I have always known Benzema as a left-winger. . . . .when he first started playing for Lyon, he was on the left-wing. . . . he has skills beyond your average striker. . . . when he moved upfront, his combination of skills he learnt on the wing and finishing reminded me of a certain Ronaldo Lima. . . . @ Emperoh and tkb417, I don hear una. Nor be the same Nairaland? By December, y'all would be changing your tune. . . . .just like you did with Berbatov. |

Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Emperoh(m): 3:07pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
~Sauron~: Till any of them arrives at OT, the argument is inconclusive. Sau We need someone for Rio is there anyone you thing can fit in well in a short while and take less time to settle? |

Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Champions Of England! by Sauron1: 4:23pm On Jul 01, 2009 |
Eastbay: After Ruud in 2001, it was Torres in 2008 and nothing since then. I don't expect Valencia to become Ronaldo overnight but why not buy someone who offers more in terms of goal-scoring and assists. Ashley Young woulda been a better option. |
