You must be referring to people like me and you that do tinker with our phones. Sadly the majority are folks that just make calls, browse, use social media and snap pics/videos etc that's why Apple is still on top. That buttery smoothness of iOS is all it takes to keep them hooked.

Xiaomi flagships are not doing bad too when compared with Sammy. At least the price difference should be put into consideration. If Xiaomi were to offer a 1k flagship it'll pack the same punch too

Good points there. Plz lemme digress, talking about the $1k flagship I've been wondering with the steady upward review of flagship retail prices, how further can the OEMs really go? Especially with midrange & upper midrange getting better and better on each release.

Projections show that flagship sales are declining in favour of the 2 sub-tiers. This I think is why LG and HTC are badly hit since they hardly have a midsection in their product portfolio.

I think OnePlus is still doing well as an online company but like you said they might need to reverse that idea long term. There is a rumor that they might be partnering with T-Mobile for the launch of OP6T which is a big deal to be honest.

We will sit back and watch how these OEMs fight tooth and nail, competition is good and long may it continue.

What i meant:a small company,produces limited amount of phones for a certain period,sells all they produce,no space for excess or wastage,6 months later comes out with another banging deal,the previous model wud be so so scarce and limited that the price wud even be expensive than there latest product.
By october now,oneplus sites wud start lacking supllies of oneplus 6,it wud be out of stock,its only resllers that wud hav fot sale at a crazy price,thats wen u know the 6tea is coming..

This strategy is well & good but restrictive and will only get them to a certain extent. If indeed they want to be world players then they must do brick and mortar stores.

This is why Xiaomi is now launching in Europe not just via online retailers but opening physical stores. Once they achieve striking a deal with major mobile network companies for phone contract deals in addition to complete regional bands, no other Chinese company will catch them.

That's actually OnePlus' strategy. I think Xiaomi has moved past that.

Xiaomi intends not to exceed 5% annual profits for its hardware unit which includes mobile phones. When the 5% profit is attained, it intends to give back to the customers thru one way or the other. Herein lies the secret to Xiaomi's hyper rate of product introduction coupled with aggressive pricing.

So I believe this means Xiaomi can afford to even introduce a smartphone selling at its cost price to end-users provided it has exceeded its projected 5% profit margins for the year

Correct. In addition to that OnePlus is only riding on the strength of its sister company OPPO which has a stronghold in China.

They can't really match Xiaomi's pricing and market segmentation strategy which is why their phones in recent times are not really as affordable unlike the early releases & also having very lean product portfolio

If you open the UI on phone browser the content is different from when u open it on PC browser, on the webui on pc there are mlre options, the only thing i don't like about it is the over heating and u can't select ur network type urself

But i do have a usb fan and power bank dat takes care of the over heating and it seems to be stable on 4g signal, for now no worries till i get better money take upgrade to a more powerful MiFi

Which do u recommend

The heating you talk about is of same level as every other mifi in the market, especially if you have it plugged to a charger while it's also in use. Also if your area of usage is within a room, a flat or your crib don't forget to set your coverage area to "short Wifi Coverage" under advanced settings inorder to maximize battery usage & further drop any heat.

There are several options if you do choose to go for something more powerful, depends on your budget.

@iliyande You are talking of not demarketing anybody's product but you make suggestive comments laced with biased opinion. You complain of the absence of hilink which is a Huawei software solution for their devices yet refer people to ZTE all in a bid to discourage people from using Harvilon products. You forget Harvilon also offer features the other brands are lacking.
What goes around, comes around. Last time I checked You were not forced to patronise anybody.

That Harvilon mifi's webui has nothing in it. No Hilink to sync settings on mobile phone. That company should better sit-up. Bought it from jumia and letter regret it Walahi.

The 2 operate on different frequencies and are handled by different equipment. Our Networking Engineers can explain better.

Do they have the SIM cards now in stock? There was a time they didn't have any or refused selling. Please confirm if the SIM is backward compatible with 3G ....I'm scared of converting to 4G and any time the network goes down, leaves me stranded. If not I will just get a separate 4G SIM. Thanks

Their 4g SIMs are now available and are backward compatible, I even used it on a torchlight phone while loading credit. Check at the Aba Road office
