musicwriter: At some point they used so called slaves from Southern part of Egypt, so they were Africans too, not white people, not foreigners.
Again, the stories in your bible are mythology. It's not history. Guy, if you got something against religion that's your cup of tea. There's nowhere I said the slaves are all from Israel |

musicwriter: Please drop this myth and pick up a history book if you need information about ancient Egypt.
The tombs of the builders have already been found in the valley of the kings- near where kings were buried. Researchers then discovered that the builders couldn't have been slaves since they were highly regarded. Some inscriptions on their tombs read something like "the great architect". Further forensic examination of their skeleton shows they were well fed. All running contrary to demeaned slaves as bible mythology would have you believe. You do know there's a difference between an architect and a mason right? Nobody is doubting these structures were thought up by brilliant minds but the implementation took decades of grueling manual labour to bring into fruition. As the world power of its time it's not out of place to think they utilised forced, slave labour much like what is still obtainable today but now done under a smoke screen called brain drain. |

Grandmeister: Millions of slaves 5,000 years ago? Lol you’re a joker. How much was the world population then. Millions of slaves working under how many slave masters? You didn’t think your comment through. You underestimate the power of human procreation, especially considering the lack of contraceptives & polygamy which was a norm then. Meanwhile these artefacts and monuments took decades to build, who says that only a particular set of slaves handled the whole work? Lastly they are not up to 5000 years old |

codemaniacs: Israel only started existing in 1948... In that era there was no place called Israel. It wasn't built by slaves. Whether you call them Israelites, Jews or what have you. The ancestors of the modern day Israel are who I refer to. I know you're probably taking this from a religious point of view, far from it. Even archeologists have documented their stay and journey from then Egypt to their current location. |

Men my size cannot easily chisel their way through that thing with crude smooth rocks while maintaining so much precision . remsonik: 1000 people cannot lift up this obelisk, wow what a world several years ago They had millions of slaves at their disposal to do their bidding. Let's not forget they were also the world power of their time and they had no Geneva convention to contend with I reckon this is about the same period the Israelites were enslaved by the Egyptians |

SeaTrade: That "educationally" you talked about does not necessarily translate to holding a degree or classroom curricular activities. There are some really smart people in this world, degree or no degree. Money is not a criterion for intelligence as any idiot can make it by chance, true no doubt about that but value and continuity is. Do you know the kind of strategic thinking, advanced calculations and scheming ,lobbying, interactions it takes to build a succesful enterprise? How many of the so called "literates" can do that? Have you ever thought to yourself how some supposed "illiterates" run succesful engineering firms and businesses? Now would you say someone that has built such value chain isn't educated because he has no degree? Do you know the kind of people he/she mingles with and thr places they've been? What sort of exposure do you people keep talking about that you can get in school that these people don't have? The stereotype of seeing the so called "illiterates" as not exposed is really naive if you ask me . I understand your stand point but please let's not make it seem like we're undermining the abilities of non-graduates, that's far from what I have in mind. My take is on a person's reasoning and mentality influenced by years of attaining formal education up to tertiary levels. This has its bearing on decision making in marriages and how couples relate with one another. Like you said in response to someone you have already acquired tertiary education to an extent thus you don't even come close to these category of persons. Just last December I know a lady who's husband divorced after years of a toxic marriage that was fuelled by the difference in educational status between her and the husband, the man in question is an Omata (don't know if I got the spelling right) as in Igbo land those guys that left for business training early in life as against going to the University. This is just a marriage of less than 6 years with 3 children. The level of distrust & insecurities by the ex-husband which ultimately ended the marriage would have been avoided if he was up to par with the lady educationally. |

Skyview01: What about we look at the big picture, we ask ourselves, why did we go to school to get a degree. Some will agree with me that the purpose is to build a successful life.
Now, for this guy is smart enough to build and run a successful business.
I wouldn't call him an illiterate because he would have to he financially literate to succeed at a business.
I have also seen a lot of degree educated folks a who are functional illiterates.
Guys. ladies. What do you think. Success is not just about the amount of money in your bank account. Being educated especially tertiary education goes beyond just learning how to read & express yourself. It opens up your mind, makes you exposed and builds your character. That's why University degree certificates say you've been found worthy in "character and learning". No amount of money or maturity gives you these attributes. Marriage is a very complex union that the couple must be vibing at very intricate levels, which might be a problem if they're not matched educationally. |

Skyview01: Ok, i had an argument with a lady. She would not marry a guy who is not degree educated even if he is mature, doing well and has a good business and income.
What do you think? Is education such a big deal in marriage? It's her choice why argue with her? Meanwhile I support her because most men in the uneducated category have serious case of insecurity and trust issues when dealing with their educated wives. |

Quite unfortunate.
A facility of this magnitude should be equipped with state of the art fire fighting equipment and it's staff well trained on how to quickly use these equipments in such emergencies. At least that should have minimised the damage before the arrival of the public fire service.
Recall how the timely action of the staff of that Chinese fuel station averted such a disaster. |

FlipModeSquade: The mortality rate?
Even factoring in the mortality rate..
COVID19 cannot in any way be compared to HIV..
The VAST MAJORITY of COVID-19 patients survive..
Most don't even know they had it..
Malaria has killed more people within the same time frame.. Yeah malaria is the oga kpata kpata of dem all. But the comparison is between Covid-19 & HIV |
