Wow, today's keyword was FAN CAMERA BLUR. ![]() You guys snapping fans that are in motion really need to find new hobbies o ![]() |
Acidosis:Does the P20 come loaded with a factory fitted A.C. & leather upholstery? ![]() Aside the normal eye candy which wears off in no time, the P20 got nothing on the Mi8. Lets not forget the price difference between two too |
Ifedith:The bolded might just be the final nail to Mediatek's coffin. Apple & Xiaomi are alomost ready in order to save cost and will be joining Samsung & Huawei soon. gidieberry:Be my guest. We're all here to learn since nobody is a reservoir of knowledge |
gidieberry:Your comment quite deviates from my main point which is despite how excellent the Helio p60 is on paper & benchmarks, why is it taking so long for Mediatek to have them ready for mass entry into the market? Aside the Nokia 5.1 & X5 which is the only release by a mainstream OEM the rest are China based phone makers that hardly excel outside China & India. I really would like to see Qualcomm given a run for its money. Saying Mediatek is patronised more by niche players is true but not an excuse. For competition sake they have to ante up their game or risk going out of business. |
SirLanko1:Have you done a restart after the update? Give the update a few full charge cycles to gel before you conclude its having battery issues. On your second picture the colour of your "Mobile network signal" appears you have been having an unstable network. |
demsid:Halleluyah!! This brother must have escaped from the dungeon of over-priced OEMS e.g. Samsung, Apple etc or the mediocrity of Tecno I feel you..Welcome to the club man |
macbeyland:I believe the Global version doesn't need any other nomenclature since its known to already have both globally acceptable hardware & software. Meanwhile calling the Chinese version (a phone that has been flashed with global software) its true name "Chinese Version", would not reflect the fact that that it runs global rom/software thus the name "Global Rom". Am sure you grab now? ![]() |
Ifedith:You may be right. The SD710 was announced this year too. People comparingthe Helio p60 with older Snapdragon mid-range chipsets certainly are not doing justice to the Qualcomm product. |
gidieberry:True. I usually love underdogs especially when its in the form of a tech rival for competition sake. But my issue with Mediatek is the continued absence of this chipset in smartphones of mainstream OEMs since its announcement earlier this year. Trust Qualcomm to release something particularly aimed at the p60 anytime soon. |
IKON360:With Honsule's new thread won't it be better all tweaking & modding is directed that way? Nobody is against modifying your device but with the general Xiaomi gist coupled with marketing by touts here the place is already saturated with info. Modding is best done in a dedicated arena devoid of distraction & with readily available support. That takes me back to GrandMufti's question which you haven't answered. |
honsule: The bolded is an invitation for noobs bricklaying festival. I'll advise if it's title say "Xiaomi" then strictly keep it Xiaomi |
honsule:Nice one, plz share the link for onward immigration & referrals for all issues pertaining to Xiaomi modding, tweaking & flashing. |
priceaction:Guy, what's BBC got to do with smartphones? Head to YouTube if data is not a problem you go see more than enough info. Btw plus 81% year-on-year growth is insane. Only possible when you offer value for money over gimmicks |
henry007:I refuse to do a research on anything Infinix since i discovered they share same parent company with Tecno. Yes I may sound bias but Xiaomi offers all I need ![]() |
IKON360:There's no online forum where every issue is solely handled about a particular subject matter (in this case Xiaomi) on a single thread. Wouldn't hurt for modding enthusiasts to create a dedicated thread for that, you'll be surprised how many like minded people that will show up. |
Available |
busuyi44:Yes, Smile band 20 is supported. |
Ifedith: guy you get mouth |
Available |
Sales ongoing |
acekid109:Just confirmed ![]() Best news all day |
Ifedith:Lol, Infinix must have done her strong thing in the past |
: bigtt76: You think Xiaomi is now playing catch-up? Don't worry lemme clear your mind, Infinix are yet to use loads of components Xiaomi has had for ages such as infrared blaster, USB Type C, all the top notch Snapdragon chipsets, amoled, under-screen fingerprint reader, transparent glass back amongst others etcHope you feel better now? ![]() |
yahmaid04:Leave am. Is it not the same p60 chip we only read about on webpages? Since announcement only Vivo & Oppo have used the chipset. Let them release to all & sundry let's see the real life performance & not just benchmark ish |
Optionally:Frankly speaking never had that in mind when I was replying his messages. On the contrary personally I feel some stuff such as modding, tweaking, flashing etc should be channeled to dedicated threads since this particular thread is more of a general Xiaomi discussion thread. Even on XDA there are general discussion areas & advanced threads where noobs are not even allowed to post but observe only. Thus we cannot bear to see newbies tweaking their gadgets thinking it's the norm, complicating things for everybody here. There is also the issue of offering assistance to potential brick victims when you start talking modding & flashing, the dude aside being a noob himself is not gonna take such responsibility. Funnily he was even making reference to "Google is your friend" phrase like he was told that when he had brick issues earlier. When this thread was created Xiaomi products were a niche & relatively unknown in Nigeria, thereby making this thread a sort of support group for the few users but it's obvious this thread is far more than that now. |
bigtt76:I get you but with the use of modern materials I doubt they'll ever look cheap. See the patterns on the Pocophone for instance or the Kevlar back cover, it was until i read that it was made of polycarbonate materials else i prolly wouldn't be able to tell the difference. |
noobody: I dey tell youhenry007:Yeah, no matter how beautiful it looks or what the manufacturer's marketer tell you it's always good to be on the safe side. |
bigtt76:Your question got me thinking. How many Samsung & Apple flagship phone users e.g. those with the beautiful glass backs truly use their devices na.ked in all their glory without wrapping them with one ugly pouch or phone case? So am sure you'll agree people are actually paying for what they don't really need. Coz after the euphoria of having a new smartphone, bragging rights & showing it off to your peeps etc wears off you'll most likely put it in a case. |
bigtt76:They wanted to keep the retail price down. What best way do you create a flagship killer that can perform like a true flagship but won't cost an arm & a leg? So the solution was to take function over form i.e. flagship internals but without the amoled screen & glass/metal back (which is usually hidden under a case anyway) thereby reducing production cost. The result is the Pocophone F1. So everybody comes out happy except the competition of course. |
Rubiesangel:Yeah, I would have believed that if you didn't say that on the most popular thread ever to grace Nairaland, the Xiaomi thread ![]() |
Rubiesangel:Go and use your surveyor phone or whatever you call it & leave us in peace, nobody get gat time for your overpriced, under-equipped phones here. We Xiaomi smartphone users go for quality feature packed products matched with reasonable pricing. Person wey no come, no go know ![]() |
