I guess you didn't have a tampered glass fixed or the one fixed was substandard. The note 3 screen is quite strong, I know coz I once dropped mine on a pebble which cracked only the tampered glass.

Folks are reluctant to try other new messenger apps because the bulk of their contacts are on WhatsApp!

Rolling out new apps isn't the problem but penetrating the market is difficult, why should I use its when I get almost an identical service from my current provider.

WeChat is almost no where to be found today.

Last time I checked "about to" means it's not available just yet. So we can't really say they're innovative until it's released to the end user.

These things you mentioned; sms, video call etc are things people have been yearning for since last year.
In the tech world the users are unforgiving & the bus waits for nobody. If these new Google apps fulfill some of these then it's gonna be game on.

Microsoft on the mobile front, from my own point of view is suffering from its self imposed restrictiveness, but the deed has been done.

Competition is good for the end users though so I'll really want to see them innovate & bounce back.

Yeah, Google has obviously got some failed projects but that's what people said when Android cupcake etc was launched.

The first time I installed WhatsApp, only 1 of my homeboy had it too & less than 5 years here we are. Tech adoption is the most dynamic trend in this generation.

At present the only thing WhatsApp got going for it is the larger user base, there's been no innovation for a long while & that's definitely going to have a backlash.

Yes but if you know google well then you would know they cover virtually every angle in tech. They are presently working on Lyft to battle Uber. You can look up vids on YouTube to know more about these sick guys. They actually put their R& into things and aren't scared of failing.

Quite insightful. Seems Microsoft is trying to consolidate its products & services but I don't see how it's going to convince users of competing mobile platforms primarily Android & iOS to switch to Windows 10 mobile
