Abuja -The Exam Ethics International, a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) has said Nigeria spends about N1.5 trillion annually on Nigerian students studying abroad. Mr Ike Onyechere, the Chairman of the NGO, said that the amount covered monies spent on scholarships, private and government owned institutions and individuals. Onyechere said there was need to stop the trend to ``prevent this huge economic loss. This is the greatest negative balance of payment any country can suffer’’. He attributed the development to the decay in the country's education sector and the incessant strikes which had disrupted schools' calendar. According to him, the development has caused the country huge economic losses and seriously contributed to the under-development of the sector which is key to driving other sectors. ``A country like Ghana for instance is gulping Nigeria's N160 billion annually, UK also has in its kitty N80 billion which is the cost of sending our children to their shores for studies,’’ he said. He stressed the need to over haul the sector, saying: ``unnecessary experimentation by those saddled with the responsibility of developing the sector would prevent it from imminent collapse’’. The chairman said part of the overhaul should include the scrapping of some examination bodies that were making things worse. ``A body like the Joint Admissions and Matriculation (JAMB) for example is nothing but a calamity for the country. Check out the top 50 universities in world, how many of them have parastatals that regulate admissions? ``JAMB has gone through series of metamorphosis, yet it has nothing to show for it if not making access to education more difficult.’’ According to him, the introduction of an e-testing for candidates is another wrong step in the wrong direction. Onyechere said every good education policy should take at least four years gestation period before its implementation process. ``For JAMB to just wake up one day and say it is introducing such a test is laughable. ``The idea of one body solely responsible for the admission of candidates into the many higher institutions we have in the country is totally unacceptable.’’ JAMB, had on Nov. 1, launched the e-testing, a Computer Based Testing (CBT) for candidates sitting for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME). The Minister of Education, Ruqayyatu Rufa'i, had during the launch of the CBT described it as one of the transformative efforts of the government toward revamping the sector. |
greatgod2012: This is what im saying again, my almost two-yrs old boy has been yearning and also crying to sleep with his siblings, but i dont feel comfortable with it.............why? I will have to be going to d room to check on him regularly, but if hes 3+, he would have learnt how to sleep thru out d night. Secondly,he would be distubing them when sleeping, especially when he feels like suckling(he still does) so what do i do now? From your first line, iam sure its your son that's' pushing for this change to happen and you only have to let him try it,Change is never easy, the earlier you allow it the better for him to have a broad and independent mind,I will advice you give it a try and then maybe check on him from time to time,Goodluck |

I do see the ones being hawked on the streets but i've can never take such. Thanks for explaining ; The one women carry on their head is the one am talking about,I saw lots of people taking it and I became curious if its medically tested and trusted ? Really love to know |
OP you'll just have to tell her how bad her food is without mincing words, there's no two ways about it. If she loves you and wants to keep ur relationship then she will have to discard her attitude to criticism. Just let her know as respectfully as u can while feasting on said meal. You sound like an ibo man...try cooking with her one of these days, u can correct her then n still show her how it's done .
if someone you are in love with tells you that your food is horrible how will you feel ? Will you make improvement or would you rather prefer going for a kill ? The thing is that "there are people" who dnt know and they brag about knowing and the they completely keep you looking for how to make them understand. |

solidbroda: Its of no importance or use. Those who will break up will break-up and those who won't will not. That's life. Its like saying how important is mathematics while you study English. My Dear stop misinforming people ,Marriage counselling is very important for intending marriage couples,it helps shape them to have an idea of what marriage is ,to prepare them cos marriage is a vocation, its a calling and its not everyone that's called for it and people must know this and be aware so as not get into mistakes that will bring annulment/divorce,My dear I suggest you take that class before venturing into marriage,"not a must ooo" but iam just suggesting |
chronique: Let me warn you from experience. Don't show ur displeasure abt dis when telling her. Look for a nice subtle way to say it. My Ex once cooked for us & She didnt clean the head of the fish properly. She left the gills nd dirt inside like that. Now,I dnt eat outside cos of stuffs like these. It irritates me when the fish is not properly cleaned & if I taste such a meal,I'd know once & it would also give me allergies... When we were eating nd I discovered this nd reacted somehow to it,the result wasnt nice. I think I asked her if that's how they eat it @ home when we quarelled & she made reference to it several times during quarels... Point is,be nice abt how you put it across or else she'll turn it into a song for you. I once made that mistake.I took your lines.thanks |

You worked for them, did politics with them, was in the same PDP with them, still them who saw your usefulness and when your usefulness became wasteful to "THEM" Them showed you way to the door and almost got you jailed embrassingly; Who is this "THEM" ? Are these men unnameable ? |

Hepatitis B is an infectious hepatitis caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). This infection has two possible phases; 1) acute and 2) chronic. Acute hepatitis B refers to newly acquired infections. Affected individuals notice symptoms approximately 1 to 4 months after exposure to the virus. In most people with acute hepatitis, symptoms resolve over weeks to months and they are cured of the infection. However, a small number of people develop a very severe, life-threatening form of acute hepatitis called fulminant hepatitis. Chronic hepatitis B is an infection with HBV that lasts longer than 6 months. Once the infection becomes chronic, it may never go away completely. Approximately 90% to 95% of infected adults are able to fight off the virus so their infection is cured. Only about 5% to 10% of adults infected with HBV go on to develop chronic infection. Children are at much higher risk for chronic infection. Up to 90% of infected young children will fail to clear the virus from their bodies and go on to develop chronic infection. About two-thirds of people with chronic HBV infection are chronic carriers. These people do not develop symptoms, even though they harbor the virus and can transmit it to other people. The remaining one third develop "active" hepatitis, a disease of the liver that can be very serious. The liver is an important organ that filters toxins out of the blood, stores energy for later use, helps with digestion, and makes substances that fight infections and control bleeding. The liver has an incredible ability to heal itself, but long-term inflammation caused by HBV can result in permanent damage. Scarring of the liver is called cirrhosis, a condition traditionally associated with alcoholism but one that is also caused by chronic active hepatitis B infection. When this occurs, the liver can no longer carry out its normal functions and may fail completely. The only treatment for liver failure is liver transplant. Chronic hepatitis B also can lead to a type of liver cancer known as hepatocellular carcinoma. Any of these conditions can be fatal. About 15% to 25% percent of people with chronic hepatitis B die of liver disease. Hepatitis B is the most common serious liver infection in the world. Worldwide, about 350 million people are chronic carriers of HBV, of whom, more than 620,000 die from liver-related disease each year. In the United States, hepatitis B is largely a disease of young adults aged 20-50 years. About 800,000 to 1.4 million Americans are chronic hepatitis B virus carriers, and the disease causes about 3, 000 deaths each year. The good news is that infection with HBV is usually preventable because there is an effective vaccine. Use of the vaccine has resulted in an 82% decrease in the number of new infections reported in the United States each year. |
The need to make our local league attractive is very imperative,The running of the game here has been hijacked by politician who barely don't know a thing about football, the marketing and packaging is poor;NFF,NPL and what have you fight from the onset of the league for ownership and endorsement deals,People who manage football in nigeria barely even love football and pratically have no business doing in football,You can predict a match even while at home in Nigeria because the home team must win matches at all cost;Recently I watched a game where the center referee was almost lynched cos the home team needed a win at all cost;Have you been following south african league ? Well packaged and well manage,The players welfare is ideal;I see Nigerian players on top of Okada all the time so you can imagine, chase these politicians out of the game and watch the game grow in Nigeria #Team Call a spade a spade# |
The Taraba State government spent N804.2 million in fighting poverty ... reduced the number of people living below the poverty line in the state 2007,and yet Taraba is standing 29th out of 36 List of Nigerian states by GDP,"From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia" Meaning Taraba is one of the poorest states in NIGERIA YET the Governor flys on an airplane, sorry for my beloved country, people need to be awake, this things happen for a reason flying up in the sky while your masses are predominantly beggars on the streets, having any one here visited taraba state ? ask people who serve in taraba state OGA GOVERNOR i hope you know God wants you to change your ways. |
