Pacemaker: I am here my bruv,I will always support positive organization. The Egyptian revolution was started by one man before it became an Arab spring. Nairaland is not visited by Nigerians alone, I bet other young entrepreneurs from Ghana and other African countries are taking notes.Renewable energy is what every civilized country is rushing into as we speak, oil will soon fade away just like how Enugu Coal factory and Ajaokuta Steel are history. Companies like GE, chevron are investing heavily on renewable energy, I hope Nigerian government can learn from this diversion of revenue. Majority of naijas rich men are into crude oil sales even the countries GDP is from Petrol export. Electric cars are in high demand in the US, middle east will soon start eating their oil.
Well noted! Another area that would have boosted our GDP is agricultural sector. Sadly, this sector happens to be one of the most neglected because even the government has obviously lost focus. I think there is an urgent need for revamp in that direction if they really want to grow the economy.

jjjkkkooo: I hv been following this thread closely. I think we can begin the online presentation through doxwox as we said. With that we can invite a few like minded people before talking about the offline meeting. Also, with time we might need to use linkedln ot twitter because, sorry to say, some posts on NL sometimes discredit it from serious-minded people. Sometimes, I m not too comfortable telling my friends to go to NL.
I keep saying it that what counts is not how numerous we are at the inception but how committed. The qualities that will keep us going are passion, perseverance, focus and the willingness to make the necessary sacrifices. The sacrifice here could be your time, it could be your money, it could be your idea. These things will be given, in order to have them back in abundance.

I believe that everything we need is around us only that it takes collective effort to discover them at times. And yes! It's no longer news that this country has economic issues and that the youths are suffering badly but how do you start blowing loud your trumpet when you have little food on the table. You will end up inviting more guests than you can feed. We will need a business that can accomodate majority of the youths in this country but definetly not this moment because I know, too many people could even kill the idea before it's birth. Not everybody that visists here has an idea you know and yet good ideas are the foundation of this organization?

I know people will respond to our call if we should go to other social sites but mind you, we have no defined offer right now. This is to say my guy, that we have a lot of work to do. Let us creat the way and invite whomever we deem necessary.

mabelly: my 2cent concept (not properly written)

(1) ask interested and committed nairaland members to drop their pseudo name and email for proper compilation, attendance control, tag production, also to check level of seriousness and any other issue that may arise.
(2) for effective distribution of labor, organizers should be raised and their names, phone numher and email (any other contact) should be posted on nairaland.
(3) 5 (five) possible location should be listed by the organisers while others will vote for their choice.
(4) voluntary donation (not monetary) should be raised in regard venue (i.e after agreed location), projector, sound instruments, refreshment, etc to make the meeting a success.
(5) people with like business ideas should be paired together for onward analysis and possible synchronization on the ''D'' day.
(6) all attending members should come with atleast one business idea.

Pls dis is just a sketch nt properly done. Also forgive my errors, for am using my fone.
So wat do u think.
Everything you pointed out here is closely in line with our outlined plans. You had it well thought of. Mindful of how busy You might be, if I ask you to perform a duty right here on this forum, would you find time to do it?
BusinessRe: Guys, Let's Talk Business by 2ruink(op): 10:20am On Sep 19, 2012
2sexy: Do even think of doing that. The reason being that they wont respond to such call. Front page?It how they run nairaland... only 90% junks make the front page.
You think so?
BusinessRe: Guys, Let's Talk Business by 2ruink(op): 8:45am On Sep 19, 2012
Pacemaker: Create a twitter account if that would help in bringing more people. You don't have to have a stadium capacity of members, with the few members you have you may be able to control, set and accomplish something. The best advertisement is word of mouth. I would advise you set a date here for trials, the meeting place can be some where secured and classic in Victoria island area, this you can use to measure the strength of committed Nairaland bloggers.
Your point is clear. I've almost completed an arrangement about our first meeting even if it means talking some of my friends into it. My concern is not how many members we have but how committed they are. I would have asked the moderator of this board to move our thread to the front page but since it entertains a lot of visitors here, I thought otherise. Few astute members is the ideal at least for now.

Pacemaker: I am genuinely sorry for your encounter with men of the underworld, I hope the shocker would not distract your goals. You seems to be very busy keep it up and I am glad you came out to clarify yourself.I liked the idea you have above but my fear is not too many Nigerians would patronize such service. I have an app on my phone that does same service. Please please, you guys should focus on taking this organization offline or create regional base meetings.
Gu moni bros! emmm....going offline as you say, is the ideal thing and I've not forgotten about that but there is something I'm waiting for because the question will rather not be 'how many ppl indicated interest' but 'how committed are they.' judging by what we have here, it is obvious that our committed members are pretty few. You know I once tested the level of commitment here when I requested for a volunteer who would handle our correspondence. It's not as if I can't do it but I had a reason for that.

Maybe our friends here need more time to build confidence. As you know, this country is not a very safe place not just in terms of business. With what we are doing here, we are getting to know each other little by little so that when we finally set a date to meet, all "the qualified" members will not have to entertain any fear and again, that would guarantee that the money I will spend in hosting them won't be a waste lol.

Back to the health idea. The picture I have concerning this business will quickly make a household name. Doctors will easily get addicted to the site and pharmaceutical stores wouldn't want to be left out. One thing I foresee is that this biz will be capital intensive because one will need to hire the services of certain experts.

Hi folks! It feels good to meet the thread in a sweeeeet condition. While it seems to have slightly adjusted from it's original course, it is nevertheless an intriguing bundle of beautiful prospect. Kudos to all those who have greased the wheel in one way or the other. You people are wonderful, you are so..so.. zestful......... emmmm...@pacemaker pls give me a western adjective to qualify these guys LOLs.

And to those who only peep to buy-in without making contributions, come out of your shell let's face the challenge together, we can accomplish the distance I'm sure. Come out now 'cos the free lunch might go offline asap. and you may not find a place. Nigeria needs the openness of vibrant minds like yours and not those detestable streaks of reticence.

I have already started benefiting from this young club. When Pacemaker called me from the states, he told me one thing that I could have paid money to have and so did 2sexy when he called. My short absence from the thread is due to the nature of my job. I am a structural architect and just recently, I bumped into a contract to erect a building. The said contract came with a very low mobilization. I accepted the deal because my uncle through whom I got the contract guaranteed my full payment and again, I need to prove a point with the job - the building is sure not the biggest in that locality but I'm working hard to make it a bijou residence as the owner requested.

I am also a writer. (Pls. don't see me as a jack of all trades because I've got the faculty and I'm a master of many!) You know, when writing becomes business, it becomes different from what I post here because the editor in me gets aroused. A friend who said he likes my job called me to tweak his father's memoir. I was just two days into it when the building contract came. So it was just a beautiful coincidence, though very hectic. I am on break now because I have exhausted my cash and my next pay is due two weeks hence.

@2sexy good to know, you have gotten the modem. This is another demonstration of love or perhaps, an evidence of trust. May God replenish the purse from where that money came and also bless you, the user, with greater wisdom and knowledge for the benefit of the entire members of this club. We are really making progress here. I actually promised to get you that modem but the turn of events wasn't very smooth and that was why I requested for your brief patience. It is well sha!

I will be dropping some ideas here from time to time for the good of the club but I will reserve my three major ideas for which I called for this organization. Those ones are good enough to keep Dangote on the edge of his seat and it really took me a great deal of research to develop them. Notwithstanding, I've got a whole lot of other ideas to share.

Here comes one: think of Nigeria as a whole and other African countries of equal medical standard. What do you see?.......a region where self medication is an acceptable culture. Majority don't go to hospital until they begin to feel the presence of death apparently because hospital bill is on the high side. Think of building a website, a super website that can accommodate the names of all the registered hospitals in Nigeria, their addresses, customer care phone numbers and their respective services/specialties. This website will also accommodate all the registered pharmaceutical stores in Nigeria, their respective locations and contact phone numbers. In return, the site will carry the names of all the useful drugs and their use. Then, the names of all the disease, their symptoms and cure.

This site will be automated in a way that if Mr. A feels headache while in his bedroom, he could simply log into the site and lodge his complaints. Then, the software will automatically generate questions like: how long has the headache lasted? How frequent does the headache come? When exactly is it more severe, morning or evening? After answering these questions, it will be known if Mr. A's case needs doctor's attention or otherwise. If a doctor's attention is needed, he could be directed to the most appropriate hospital where such cases are best attended to. If otherwise, he will be directed to the nearest pharmaceutical store with the best prescriptions.

You see that every hospital, every pharmaceutical store and possibly every individual will want to identify with this site. In the case of pharmaceutical stores, each one of them will need to open an e-store on your site where they will be allowed to list all their available drugs such as to enable hospitals and individuals place their order. All the doctors will also want to identify with your site because you may decide to publicize some remarkable achievements of renowned medical personnel.

I will direct any interested person(s) on how to get a comprehensive list comprising names of registered hospitals and pharmaceutical stores.
Cheers!!!

PS Join me in thanking God for his mercies and protection. Gun men nearly sent me to the netherworld but God said NO.

mabelly: well, am working on strategies to help implement dis concept, will be posting it real soon. Buh, where is ''2ruink''
I'm here dude! I couldn't say goodbye 'cos I knew I would be back pretty soon. I view this thread everyday but rarely have I spent longer than three minutes and yesterday when I tried to type, I discovered, I might slip into asking somebody 'his birthday' instead of our original subject here 'cos I was too drowsy. I have been working so much nowadays and that might mean overlabour if called the way it is but since I personally asked for it, I'm so happy doing them. I hope to return quick today and I've set two weeks break for myself starting from tomorrow. I'll be frequenting this thread from now to make my contributions at least for the period of two weeks. About the strategy you made mention of, pls I can't wait to have it. I've got a lot of ideas but mine alone will not be enough so we need you. See you tonight.

@spicy v You are a good lecturer with bad message. Is this how to correct someone? Come on dear you are damn too harsh and that does not tell good of the wonderful lecturer in you. Try to drop a line of joke at time for that will make you more friendly. We could help ourselves in one way or the other to improve our writing skills. If you politely correct my mistakes, I will no doubt, serve you a dish of thanks but if you scorn me in your correction, then expect a bowl of thorns.

BusinessRe: Guys, Let's Talk Business by 2ruink(op):
2sexy: Here is the deal. I want members of this board to tap into my wealth of internet biz knowledge and help me help the people here.

I want to spill the bean, A-Z on how the internet works so that everybody may gain out of what I know.

Members of this forum have often contact me to teach them how it works online and I have never failed anyone and I never asked anyone to give me money. As I type this, there three people on the waiting list whom I have promised to help but unfortunately, I have not been able to fullfill my promise.

On the waiting list, one of them is a single mother who hope to use her writing skill to sustain herself. I have been telling her to wait and its almost a month. I feel bad about this because I hate to disappoint people and its as if I don't want to help her.

My problem is that I have just graduated and my final year project shrinked my account. My modem got broken while in school and I havent been able to replace it.

If there's anyone here that can help with a modem, please do and I will be able to help both the people here and the waiting single mother.

In return, I will lecture everybody here on Google Adsense, Affiliate Marketing, Information Marketing and Website Flipping and The Hidden Truth Behind Paypal... From A-Z...

The good side is that you wont have to attend seminars or buy ebooks of any kind as I have most of this ebook at my disposal.

And if you have ever attended any internet marketing seminar, the truth is that most of this guys do not practise what they preach and when you ask question, they beat about the bush.

What can/will you do when your money is already in their bank account? And as a result, people think that internet business is fraud and fake.

I want someone to see the big picture and don't just underestimate me because I have never been heard of as a 'guru' in the Nigeria internet marketing sphere. The truth is that I have done and practised what most of this guys don't do but sell as ebooks at seminars. I have seen it all.

I want you to see me as your consultant, the 'go to' guy as far as internet marketing is concerned.

Imagine the amount people have lost here on the forum just because they want to buy one ebook or the other.

I am not asking you to pay any money into my account but help with a modem, either MTN or Glo Branded Modem.

The Google Adsense which I talked about above is just 1/10 of the whole process... So guys, let's do it and spread the knowledge. Imagine the effect this will have on the lives of members here.

I am currently home and doing nothing. So, I would like to use that time to help people with my knowledge instead of laying idle.

I will be going for my NYSC by November and I want a situation whereby I can look back and say I have sowed a seed in people's life.

I stay Benin City incase there's anyone here.

"If you can help enough people get what they want, you shall have anything you want"-- Zigziglar
I like your openness. Is it just modem that you need? Something keeps telling me that this thread is the starting point of many great things/innovations. You may give me a call or send an email
BusinessRe: Guys, Let's Talk Business by 2ruink(op): 4:44pm On Sep 04, 2012
2sexy: if you have a gmail account, you don't need to signup, just login with your username and password.

google.com/adsense

NOTE: Google does not easily accept people these days because of what a Nigerian infomarketer did back in 2010. He was involved in click-fraud i.e click on ads served on his website while at the seminar he organised(massly deceiving people). This thing spread like wild fire and so, Google started clamping on accounts of people and also increase their strictness on acceptance.

So here is what you should do, go to blogger.com and signup for their free blog and then write 5 articles to publish. Use that to signup for the adsense and once they accept you, get a paid blog. Let me know how it went.

Yes , you need a website to sign up for adsense.
tnx a million! will get back to u on this
