What did this same Algeria play against Burkina Faso

They drew their last match they played against each other

Burkina faso can still beat them if they win the return leg in Burkinafaso then they can top the group

They are capable but they haven't won anything forever...in any age grade! Never been to the World Cup either when even Togo have been...
I can agree that they are a decent outfit but they are not an African Power house.

Many under achieving teams around the world have the poster of the Malian national team on their wall The under achievers' under achiever grin

Banter aside the Malians I think have lacked a manager with personality to inspire them to the next level. On their day they give the best African teams a run for their money but I agree they lack character when facing the Senegals, Algerias, Nigerias, etc

Shoutout Supernerd for a very thorough and deeply analytic playback of the individual player performances in the match.

I have watched Osimhen carefully over the past months and I think personally he's not too far off from becoming an elite striker. Why do I say that? His positioning has gotten better. I prefer a forward who is always in the right place to get a shot at goal even if he misses than a John Cena type who often needs the perfect pass to dispatch.

Victor's major issues now are his wayward shots and a bit of lack of calmness. Most of the chances he has missed so far in these qualifiers is because he doesn't realize that he has more time on the ball than he actually thinks. This is where Iheanacho excels.

You know when all those minnows face Nigeria, that's when their bones become strong. I would honestly prefer the Liberia game at a neutral venue instead of going to Liberia to play the game. The Cape Verde 2nd leg would be interesting for sure with a lot at stake for both sides.
It will be played in Ghana

Looking at the World cup African qualifiers table, I wonder how Cameroon & Ivory coast were paired in the same group. Ghana and South Africa are in the same group. Burkina Faso & Algeria are in the same group. Then look at Group J
Tanzania
Benin
DR Congo
Madagascar
Can someone explain this? This may be denied the best teams to represent Africa

FIFA ranking. The top teams were put in one pot while the other lower ranked teams in different pots.

Cameroon were in one of the lower pots unfortunately for them and Ivory Coast they both got each as it happens with draws.

No host country fans allowed. Apart from the venue the game is treated as a home game of the team using the venue so their fans will take precedent.
