With consistency, Osihmen should be preparing himself for the African Footballer of the year in a year or two.

Leave consistency

Will Napoli win anything ? That is the question you should be asking

El nesyri has been consistent at Sevilla and he won’t even make top 3 for apoty ,when we have mendy mahrez salah doing things at bigger teams

Let’s see if victor can lead Napoli to seria A glory or Europa league

Kelechi best traits are Clinical finishing and creating chances. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have the stamina, strength, passing ability to play as a number 10, and he is best utilized as an 8 or support striker. You want your best chances to fall to kelechi because he is a clinical Finisher. For now, iwobi or Nwakali are the best options as a 10.

Allow nwakali to be at his best and leave him alone for now .

Which best. If bonke, and Kingsley can make the substitute team, then nwakali is also good enough now to be on the substitute

I don't understand sir, how can Iheancho's best trait be creativity, yet he doesn't know how to pass?
Go and check how many chances that kelechi creates in a game when played as an 8. Also, just because you can create chances (assist) doesn’t mean that you have the passing range, stamina and strength to play 10 control, dictate the tempo of a game.

Those ones won’t make the team on a good day

Why did rohr still ignored nwakali as a sub ?

Kingsley Michael has played at seria A this season and bonke is a regular at malmo and started against juventus on tuesday

excellent analysis. The difference between winners and also rans in football is attitude/mentality.

Spalleti will give Osimhen the needed kick up the backside when he doesn't do well but will be fair to give his due when he's trying.
TheLoneCitizen:

I think you're overreaching here, mate, there's actually no difference in playing style whether eye test or statistically between Gattuso's Napoli and Spalleti's.

The main difference here is change in mentality.

Last season, Gattuso never substituted Insigne when Napoli weren't winning, only once in 42 games, when they were losing 3-1. No matter how badly Insigne plays only injury will force Gattuso to remove his talisman.

So I was surprised when at 2-1, Spalleti subbed off Insigne with 16 minutes to go. He did the same thing against Juventus when the score was 1-1.
Which means in just 4 games, he has outdone Gattuso in ruthlessness.

This is good for Osimhen because he will understand that if he doesn't perform, this manager will not pamper him.

Another one. When Osimhen partied in Nigeria last season and contracted covid, Gattuso criticised him fairly then later tried to downplay it. Spalleti has shown that he doesn't tolerate indsicpline.

This season, when Osimhen was sent off, even when the media defended him, Spalleti blasted him for the red card. To show that the red card wasn't worth it, his ban was lifted, but Spalleti never defended him.

Another good lesson for Osimhen.

There's nothing different about defeating Juventus at home, they did that to a better Ronaldo-manned one last year.

There's nothing different about outpassing an heavily altered Leicester side, they never went behind home or away against a better Real Sociedad side in last year's Europa League without Osimhen.

The main difference is the mentality and this is where Osimhen will better his game.

Chief I get that you support Nwakali. Like you I want him to achieve his potential but let him achieve it first before unnecessarily hyping the guy. That's how we hyped Rabiu Ibrahim and Lukman Haruna rushed to invite them to the SE which ended in them not doing anything tangible in the national team.

All this qualities you keep harping on about Nwakali other coaches can't be blind to it so when he shines through the whole world will see and we won't have to be arguing about it as it will be obvious to all.

My friend sharrap. What has bonke and micheal do to be invited ahead of nwakali? The same ejaria and olise that you people are salivating over we’re playing division 2 football last season. You must understand that for a Nigerian to be handed the number 10 shirt in an European club isn’t easy because they view all our midfielders as “holding energetic midfielders” I’m not even saying that nwakali should start, but based on his game vs Ath and him playing at the segunda, aggregate to the fact that the likes of bonke, micheal can be invited then nwakali is good enough to make the 30

Dele Bashiru's goal for Reading, it baffles me that people are talking about Nwakali while Dele Bashiru is impressing at the Championship

Mind your manners kid and I'm not your friend.

Michael and Bonke at least play in the top divisions in the country they ply their trade.

Nwakali is not even rated one of the best players in Segunda but we should invite him because of one semi-friendly played years ago and his exploits at under 17 level.

Michael and Bonke are not even CMs like that so why are you using them for comparison?

Giving excuses for Nwakali will not help him in the long run. He needs to seriously improve so he can play in the big leagues.

Mikel that was viewed as a "holing energetic midfielder" he sha was able to eventually get a starting spot in a star studded Chelsea so all that shalaye for Nwakali will not fly.

Supernerd that rates him and even gives constant updates about his performance at club level acknowledges he needs to build consistency into his game while your only strategy to argue your point is to abuse and insult whether Nwakali is your personal relative only you know.

Going forward if you know you can't engage my posts in a civil manner do well to jump and pass.

U r right,
mahrez, salah, mane and d other guy at psg will always have a better chance of winning APOTY before osimhen and ndidi,
mahrez and co r sure of at least one or two trophies every year, why not so with our guys.

But if Nigeria should be able to win next year's AFCON and napoli wins major trophy as well with Osimhen at d center of it all ,
then he stand a big chance next year.

You can actually make your point or opinion without insulting you know. Despite this is a faceless forum, you have to mind how you communicate. Its rude to tell someone to sharrap because they have a contrary opinion to yours and he's not your friend.

Respect beget respect, you won't become impotent if you hold a sane conversation or discuss without throwing insults. Not the first nor second time.

You can do better

From what it is now Nigeria can boost of 4 potent strikers and a good midfield. Why is nobody talking about the defense! When would we have world class defenders cus that’s very important. Our defense is really shaky.

Onuachu was named MOTM after bagging a late winner for Genk in their UEL group stage opener yesterday.

As already reported by some, it was his 50th club goal for Genk in 78 club apperances. Holds 57 direct goal involvements (50 G + 7A) in 78 games for Genk. Staggering figures.

He showed persistence yesterdsy especially after being denied earlier by VAR for a slight offside.

He and Junya Ito (#7) are a match made in heaven. Lost count of how many times Ito has assisted Onuachu with beautiful crosses.

Keep on Paul. wink

Even in the days of Keshi, Ike Okechukwu and Taribo we weren't always the tightest defensive wise but at least we have more than decent fullbacks. GK is not yet at Enyeama level but with time the current crop could get to that height.

cromz:
From what it is now Nigeria can boost of 4 potent strikers and a good midfield. Why is nobody talking about the defense! When would we have world class defenders cus that’s very important. Our defense is really shaky.

Nwakali saved alcorcon from relegation last season and was their best player. In fact Leeds United wanted him but sd huesca placed a 15 million price tag on him. Despite this you are saying he should not be appreciated for his efforts.
Ask supernerd and he will tell you about his performance s since February this year. This is based on fact and not sentiment

This Journalist makes a case for Liverpool Spending big on Osimhen – and reinventing themselves in the process.

Read on. smiley

Victor Osimhen could be exactly what Liverpool are looking for. The Nigerian shone against Leicester City in the Europa League this week.

Divock Origi got a shock start against AC Milan on Wednesday. The Belgian hadn’t played at all this season but Jurgen Klopp threw him right in.

That tells us a few things. First and foremost, that Klopp believes Liverpool can win big games with a player like Origi up top. And that hasn’t always been a guarantee.

Liverpool thrive with a False 9 centre-forward who can drag defenders around, creating space for wingers to drive into. They can look a little lost without that and Origi has found himself rarely used as a result.

But he was brilliant at Anfield. Origi pulled Milan defenders about, offered a wonderful out-ball, pressed like crazy, and even registered a wonderful assist.

Then the inevitable happened – Origi got injured. That keeps happening, ruining his momentum and putting his form in question. Was this a one-off display or will he return to his best?

We just don’t know and Origi’s individual ability remains in question. What doesn’t, however, is that the team can operate very well with a traditional centre-forward.

And with that in mind, Victor Osimhen looks perfect for Liverpool.

Honestly, Osimhen looked like a great upgrade on Origi just from his first 45. He was sprinting in behind the Leicester City defence, causing the problems and – importantly – creating chances for others.

It was a selfless display that while entirely different to what Roberto Firmino offers, offered the same result. Osimhen stretches defences, creates space, and makes things easier for his teammates.

And that’s a great fit for Liverpool. It’s essentially what they asked Origi to do against Milan and it went very well. Osimhen, though, looks stronger than the Belgian and is four years younger.

So we were thinking Osimhen was right for Liverpool even before he scored two excellent goals. The first one saw him drift wide with the ball before laying it off to a teammate.

The 22-year-old then drifted back inside, received the ball again and proceeded to lift it over a defender and then Kasper Schmeichel. Osimhen’s second was a brilliant header to level things at 2-2.

Both goals showed how he’d fit in at Liverpool. One showed movement, the other an ability to get on the end of crosses.

Now, Osimhen wouldn’t be cheap. Napoli paid £63m for him and would surely want more in a sale.

But Liverpool’s current front-three are all pushing 30 and there will be a time soon where the Reds must move on. Spending big on Osimhen – and reinventing themselves in the process – could be exactly what they need.

The European football governing body UEFA has reacted after Super Eagles of Nigeria star Victor Osimhen nets a second half brace for Italian serie A giants SSC Napoli FC on Thursday night, in their first game of the Europa League at King Power stadium.

The former Wolfsburg football club of Germany striker retained his spot in the away team's first eleven, and he was able to impress for the team.

Victor Osimhen led Napoli's attack alongside Hirving Lozano and Lorenzo Insigne and they were all fantastic for the visitors.

Nigerian Victor Osimhen made it 2-1 with a classic goal in the 69th minutes, before he equalized for the away team in the 87th minutes through a beautiful header to end the match in a 2-2 draw.

Now you lead the way, we will start to give him attention now that is doing well. We talk about nwakali more than him because nwakali was a golden ball winner and the talent is there just that he has not been lucky or maybe more serious with is career. Now that more players are coming up most especially in his position, people will talk less of him. Personally I still believe nwakali will come good and play for one of the elite club. He have the talent.

Remove bonke from your list
