Simon Moses has been "dependable" for us. Not as flashy or dynamic as the likes of Samu, Kalu, Ejuke, etc but he's one Rohr likes because he always puts in a shift on both ends of the pitch.

I have no doubt with your write ups
But he need work on his crossing and final passes in opponent 18 yard box when on GwG thats my point he is not a bad player...he is committed as well

I highly disagree. His last game was his best and most complete performance that I have seen from osimehn. In fact, he reminded me of a young drogba

Four Great Coaches NFF Can Replace Gernot Rohr With
goalballlive.com
Coaches NFF Can Replace Gernot Rohr
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have renewed their dealing with Super Eagles handler Gernot Rohr last time out as the Nigerian egghead look forward to further improvement in the affairs of the senior national team.

However, that agreement was met with a strict clause in the contract that the Franco-German boss Gernot Rohr signed at that time.

Failure to meet the demand from NFF on Gernot Rohr’s part would see Nigeria move away from the former Burkina Faso Coach.

And with contrasting opinions making the round as it pertains to Rohr’s second tenure on the job a replacement could be the card for the Super Eagles.

It could now be left for the NFF then to find a capable hand to replace the German tactician on the Eagles role as the Nigerian side aspire to a greater height in the future.

Due to the above-stated instances, GoalBalllive evaluate four great coaches who could replace Gernot Rohr on the Nigerian job.

EMMANUEL AMUNEKE (NIGERIAN)
Emmanuel Amuneke earning his stripes on the continent | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News — Sport — The Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News
Having succeeded with the age-grade cadets along with coach Manu Garba, many are beginning to taunt the name of Amuneke as a possible candidate for the Eagles job in the future.

While Gernot Rohr may have secured maximum points against Liberia (at home) and Cape Verde (on the road) many Nigerians were not satisfied with the performance and pattern of play utilized by the current Eagles getter Gernot Rohr.

He probably has not been convincing on the job lately and with Amuneke’s stakes after winning the U-17 World Cup in 2015 looking bright anything could happen on this note.

He knows a crop of the players in the Current Super Eagles side having unearthed talents like Victor Osimhen (SSC Napoli), Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal), Kelechi Nwakali (SC Huesca) to name but a few.

And certainly, he is a worthy mention as far as the Eagles coaching job is concerned.

ROBERTO DI MATTEO (ITALIAN)
Roberto Di Matteo to Be Named Permanent Chelsea Manager | Bleacher Report | Latest News, Videos and Highlights
The former Chelsea player and coach could be a good replacement for Gernot Rohr even as the team continues to evolve at the moment.

Di Matteo has got a good repute and CV for the Nigerian job having won the Champions League against all odds thanks to Didier Drogba’s heroics for Chelsea in the final against Bayern Munich.

He has shown love for African players having managed the likes of Michael Essien and Salomon Kalou as well as the Nigerian pair of John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses at his time at Chelsea.

So expect him to provide the experience Nigeria needs in maximizing the talent they‘ve got in the mix.

SAMSON SIASIA (NIGERIAN)
Siasia hails CAS on FIFA ban reduction, laments NFF neglect
The Olympic silver and Bronze medalist for Nigeria would surely get mentioned when it had to do with managing the Super Eagles yet again.

He’s had a brief stint with the Nigerian senior men’s team but he still deserved another time to fully express his tactical onus for the Nigerian team.

His fans (which are many) would hope he returns to active coaching soonest even possibly as the handler of the Super Eagles.

Though he’s had some financial charges levelled against him which has kept him out for the moment.

But his brand of football has been so exciting to watch from the Nigerian perspective.

And how well he’s been able to put forward talents like Chinedu (Ogbuke) Obasi, Osaze Odemwingie and Victor Anichebe in the Olympics squad then remains a case today in Nigeria football for sure.

HERVÉ RENARD (FRENCH)
Herve Renard Says He's Still Hopeful After Disheartening Loss to Iran in World Cup Opener - Sports Illustrated
The Frenchman would be another sure (potent) personality who can deliver on the Super Eagles job.

He’s shown his passion and aptness to manage African sides in the past and so expect him to do the same with a Nigerian team brimming with so much quality so to say.

The likes of Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho would flourish under his tactical dynamics.

While the talent of Isaac Success and Henry Onyekuru can be brought to lifeline amidst some of his personal disciplinary measures.

The success he has achieved at Zambia and Ivory Coast speak volumes of his managerial onus.

While qualifying Morocco to the World Cup at the expense of Ivory Coast could be another big statement he’s made on the African scene.

He probably will make the most out of the Super Eagles’ individual potentials as well as a group (team) while he’s capable of settling Nigeria’s creative midfield issue overall.

"Osimehn lacks Quality in tight spaces but is hard to catch in open spaces" (Napoli coach) he just reechoed what I said last season, i.e positioning himself properly. I like this new coach because he is blunt and direct which will help a player improve on his weakness
Osimehn, ndidi and iheanacho are our closest now to being world class and we must support, constructively criticize and promote them as much as possible

Watched the match, mate, and Victor Moses totally outplayed Ejuke. I'm not saying Moses is the better player overall but he was the better player on the night.

And Moses didn't play midfield he played right wingback on the same wing as Ejuke. I'm not a fan of Victor one bit, but give credit where it is due.

is only Nigeria fans that usually complains about insigne not passing ball to Osimhen,
They just want Osimhen to shine and they will ignore every other things,
that insigne also want to score.

If insigne always refuses to pass to him, there r other players on the pitch that will pass to him,
If he utilizes most of all other chances created by other team mates,he can still score loads of goals.
through hard work, they will eventually see him as their main man.
Osimhen will still shine whether insigne choose to pass to him or not

Even the pundits r not even seeing it the way we see it here,
The write up about leicester vs napoli that Thesupernerd posted here, the writer even called insigne a team player.

Now that I see the goal again I feel insigne had no other option but to shoot with the way the GK rushed out. At the same time the defender would have cleared the ball if Victor didn't get it. So at the end of the day nobody was wrong.

Nigerian players who shone across Europe: Monday Night Football Special (September 20)

1. Victor Osimhen (CF - ST) Goal and Another Impressive all-round performance (SSC Napoli): Played 81mins

Udinese 0-4 SSC Napoli (Serie A)

*Scoring for the 2nd consecutive game. Good for confidence. Good for consistency. Great for his numbers as well. A poacher's goal. Connected timely with his Captain's lob over the keeper, ensuring the effort went in (as the opposition defender pressuring Victor might have stopped it) to open the floodgates of goals. Post-match, Insigne was asked about the effort and he said, "Oh the goal was given to Osimhen? Well, it doesn't matter. What's important is that the team wins....." Good talk Capitano. On another matchday, perhaps both he and Osimhen will be on the scoresheet together "again". Maybe even on Thursday. wink No Owngoals allowed please.

*33% passing accuracy, 1 shot on target, 1 shot off target, 1 shot blocked, 100% dribbling success (2/2), 100% aerial duels won (1/1), 6/8 ground duels won, 2 tackles, 2 clearances, caught offside once, 2 fouls committed, was fouled twice.

*1 Goal in 3 league games (3 starts)

*2 goals in 1 UEL game (1 start)

*1 Goal in 2 games (2 starts) for NT in 21/22

2. Akinkunmi Amoo (RW) Goal + MOTM performance (Hammarby IF): Played 74mins

Hammarby IF 1-0 Varberg BoIS (Swedish Allsvenskan)

*Outstanding shift from Naija's next rated left footed Pearl. Even won 100% of his aerial duels, one of which was a header for the winning Goal. A game decided by a header from the shortest player on the pitch for both teams. Ironic right. Lol grin Deserved MOTM.

*82% passing accuracy, 1/3 accurate crosses, 1/3 accurate long balls, 1 shot on target, 1 shot blocked, 5/8 successful dribbles, 100% aerial duels won (2/2), 7/13 ground duels won, 1 tackle, 1 foul committed, was fouled once.

*5 goals, 2 assists in 18 league games (12 starts)

*1 assist in 6 UECL Qualifying games (4 starts)

3. 22 y/o Rasheed Ibrahim Akanbi (CF - Played LW/LM) Goal (Menemenspor): Played 90mins+
Menemenspor 2-2 MKE Ankaragucu (Turkish TFF.1 Lig)

*Scoring in 2nd consecutive league fixture. 3 goals Involvement in last 2 games.

*73% passing accuracy, 1 big chance created, 1 chance created, 1/2 accurate crosses, 1 shot on target, 1 shot blocked, 6/12 successful dribbles, 7/17 ground duels won, 1/4 aerial duels won, 2 fouls committed, 2 clearances, 1 tackle.

*2 goals, 1 assist in 6 league games (6 starts)

4. 20 y/o Saminu Kwari Abdullahi (CDM - Played CB) Goal (Veles Moscow): Played 90mins+

Veles Moscow 3-1 Rotor Volgograd (Russian FNL)

*

[i]*1 goal, 1 assist, 3 cleansheets in 9 league games (9 starts)

*2 cleansheets, 2 Russian Cup games (1 start)

5. Chidera Ejuke (LW) Decent Performance (CSKA Moscow): Played 84mins

CSKA Moscow 1-0 Spartak Moscow (Russian Premier Liga)

*The Reigning CSKA player of the Month faced off in a direct wing battle with Super Eagles Afcon Hero, Victor Moses. And what a battle it was with Victor edging it. Ejuke put in a good shift overall.

*75% passing accuracy, 100% accurate long balls (1/1), 1 shot off target, 5/9 ground duels won, 3/5 successful dribbles (60%), 2 tackles, 1 interception

*2 goals, 1 assist in 8 league games (6 starts)

*1 game (1 start) for NT in 21/22

6. Victor Moses (RM/RWB) Solid Performance (Spartak Moscow): Played 90mins+

CSKA Moscow 1-0 Spartak Moscow (Russian Premier Liga)

*Faced off with Ejuke and was Solid throughout. Limited Ejuke's influence and just about edged Ejuke in the wing battle. Very Good game from Vic.

*72% passing accuracy, 1/5 accurate crosses, 4/10 accurate long balls (40%), 1 shot blocked, 9/15 ground duels won, 100% aerial duels won (2/2), 5/6 successful dribbles (83%), 3 clearances, 3 interceptions, 2 tackles, 1 foul committed, was fouled twice.

grin Nigerians and sentiments are saimese twins na. Insigne had no viable option really than to lob the keeper. Osimhen did well to make sure the goal went and luckily it counted in his favor. Victor should just continue to work on making the right movements in the box with time Insigne, Politano, Lozano and co will get used to him.

Do you think Napoli have a short at the scudetto? This one that Juventus and Inter are kind of depleted.
