Humility017: Tega is a good striker in some ways he is similar to KC just with an aerial threat as an added advantage. However, as a lone striker I have my doubts he is not like Balotelli, Drogba, Ibrahimovic, Benteke and or Lukaku that can hold up play and dominate the CBs and could create goals almost by themselves. In Bristol city he was the main man the team focused in on him. They team played to his strengths. So I do not see him as the solution. I actually think playing a defenders nightmare Anichebe with the very crafty and intelligent Aluko behind him will create problems for any defence. Age wise they are still very young but proven and tested. Furthermore Ighalo, Ideye and Obagoal should be invited to camp to see what they can bring and be allowed vto fight for a jersey. In reality these guys are much younger than JJay and Kanu when they played for Nigeria at the tail end of thier careers. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe:I cannot keep repeating myself why those balls couldn't/ wouldn't get through. You said Suarez doesn't hold up play? This is the kind of things you come up with just to defend Kelechi. Suarez is a highly skilled forward who is very hard to disposes with his low centre gravity. Once he's in the ball, you may need to chase him with a cutlass to disposes him. You want to really compare his hold up play with Kelechi's? Rantie is a smallish forward but he's a bit like Suarez with his low centre gravity making it hard for people to take the ball of him. Same culd be said about Rossi. Kelechi unfortunately, have lost some of those skills we saw at the U17s. It appears they have been coached out of him at Man City. |

I agree with you on all you said about Tammy Abraham. But He is still 19. Don't you think he can still bulk up physically and develop that part of his physical game? He looks kinda Lanky for now but can still develop excellent physique as he matures to make his monster height make even greater sense for him and the team. Also, Solanke (if he turns out for us) fits the kinda striker that can play with his back to goal and hold up play very well. What do you think? I hope Solanke eventually turns out for us... His combo with Iheanacho can be very devastating indeed. Just my keen thought. Furthermore, Solanke will provide quality options upfront for us. He, Kelechi, Osimhen ![]() ![]() @bolded... wow! Are you TheGoodJoe's clone? ![]() ![]() I personally think Ideye still has something to offer this team. We cannot just discard our Experienced horses just because the new horses show great and awesome potentials. So yeah... I agree. ![]() komekn: |

Revealed – Why FC Porto Refused To Give Nantes Option To Buy Chidozie Awaziem After Loan ![]() Portuguese giants FC Porto transferred two players to French side Nantes as part of the deal for the coach of the French side to join them. Joris Kayembe and Chidozie Awaziem were the players sent to Nantes by Porto, but while Kayembe was signed permanently by the French side, Awaziem joined the team on a season long loan deal. Nantes had wanted the deal for Awaziem to include the option to buy permanently next summer but Porto insisted on a straight loan deal for the 20 year old, which will see him return to them next summer. The reasons from what we gathered has to do with his buy out clause pegged at €20m by Porto when he put pen to paper on a five year deal in 2016, after making the grades to the main team. Furthermore Porto still rate the newly capped senior national team of Nigeria defender highly, believing he still has a future with the team despite his lack of game time with the first team last season. **Daniel Martins Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/06/18/revealed-why-fc-porto-refused-to-give-nantes-option-to-buy-chidozie-awaziem-after-loan/ 1 Like |

Highly-Rated Manchester United Nigerian Right Back Names His Role Model (Not Dani Alves) ![]() Promising Nigerian defender Matthew Olosunde has revealed that he idolizes Ecuador international Antonio Valencia and is hoping to model his game after the current Manchester United Player of the Year. Valencia was a right winger when he joined Manchester United from Wigan in the summer of 2009 as replacement for Real Madrid-bound Cristiano Ronaldo, before he began his transition to a wing back during the 2011-12 season. ''Yes (Valencia), he is a real inspiration," Matthew Olosunde told the official website of Manchester United. "Bombing forward but also being great defensively. I really look up to him. ''When I watch him play, I just think I appreciate he's a great player and a great marking point to reach for. He's a big guy and so strong.'' Olosunde has been compared to former Barcelona full-back Dani Alves by Duke University head coach John Kerr and the English media. The 19-year-old was named in Manchester United's provisional squads for Premier League matches against Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur and traveled to London with the first team. **Igho Kingsley Photo Credit : manutd.com Source: http://allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=23456 1 Like |

Leicester City Overtake West Ham In Race For Iheanacho, Man City Demand N11.4 Billion ![]() Leicester City have leapfrogged West Ham in the race to sign Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, according to reports. The Telegraph is reporting that Iheanacho and Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson are on the wishlist of Foxes manager Craig Shakespeare. It has been claimed that Manchester City have upped their asking price for the Nigerian to £25 million (around N11.4 billion) and want a buy-back clause in any deal taking him out of the Etihad Stadium. Iheanacho has been declared surplus to requirements by manager Pep Guardiola, but he is open to idea of remaining in the Premier League despite interest from abroad. The 20-year-old Iheanacho, who scored seven goals last season, is under contract with City until the summer of 2021. **Ifeanyi Emmanuel Source: http://allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=23459 |

Omeruo Receives Good News From Chelsea Manager Antonio Conte On First Team Chances ![]() Chelsea Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeruo has been told to resume for pre season training later in the month with the senior team of the club by coach Antonio Conte. Omeruo extended his contract with Chelsea before heading out on loan last season to Alanyaspor with an agreement that he will be offered a spot in their pre season squad before the start of next season. The player confirmed yesterday in Lagos, that he will resume with the team but will need assurances from coach Antonio Conte about his chances with the first team before deciding if he is staying or not. “For now, I’m a Chelsea player. I’ve only been out on loan. Now that my loan period at Alanyaspor is over, I will be returning to Chelsea for our pre season. “No decision has been made if I’m still going out on loan or staying at Chelsea. “The important thing for me is that I’m still playing regularly. “If I will have to stay at Chelsea and not be playing games, then I won’t stay, that is it for now”. TheSuperNerd: A year is a long time in football and who knows who will be the next big thing. Consider that Mbappe had his first cap in February this year. A reflection of his outstanding club performance. The same can be said of Dembele outstanding club performance will be transferred to the national team. There are other Nigerian origin players waiting to be unveiled this new season. I will and do not agree with players being invited without showing ability and top performances in thier clubs. If Tega shows that he is up to the task this season which will really show if he can update hus game and add more to his abilities. Then a resounding yes, I have watched Tega for near 4/5 years so I am still watching his progression. |

CMR Vs CHI 0:0 HT. We need to play with so much attacking intensity to be able to tear the Cameroonian defense the way Chile is doing. But for poor finishing Cameroon should be 2 or 3 down. We really need Mikel and V. Moses in that game. Our young forwards we run into problems with the physical and stubborn Cameroon side. 2 Likes |

Humility017: Tega is developing the real test will.be his first season in the premiership. Anichebe has never been prolific but what he does is he creates chances for the supporting striker and or AM to join the attack. He is a nightmare to play against when he can remain fit. Shall we talk about the Nigerian factor. I have met football academy owners and coaches in Nigeria from Benin to Lagos to Ph to Warri as well as multiple football club coaches and owners . Age reduction is intrinsic to the business model. You understand me so let's not worry about age too much because if Aluko was born in Nigeria he would be close to U21 player. And some of these boys we are calling U21 they failed the MRI scan years ago. Uche Agbo for instance has been playing football since 2010 for Taraba I guess he started at 14. Cameroon has the youngest team in the Confederations Cup well at least officially we all know what's going on football age. |

Watching Cameroon they playing predominantly off the cuff. Very limited team cohesion and the struggle to get beyond 4/5 passes. They are poor technically and Aboubacar thier main man seems not particularly quick or fast strong yes. That may be a reflection of the top quality opposition. For Chile to be here they may beaten Argentina and Brazil. Otherwise Cameroon seem devoid of ideas. We will most definitely 100% desperately need Mikel Obi they are very physical and we need our big boys for this game. 2 Likes 1 Share |
