Gooaal Vidal!
That is how to beat a stubborn defense. Chance created by Alexis and finished by Vidal.
Hope Rohr is watching ?

Watching Cameroon they playing predominantly off the cuff. Very limited team cohesion and the struggle to get beyond 4/5 passes.

They are poor technically and Aboubacar thier main man seems not particularly quick or fast strong yes. That may be a reflection of the top quality opposition.

For Chile to be here they may beaten Argentina and Brazil.

Otherwise Cameroon seem devoid of ideas.

We will most definitely 100% desperately need Mikel Obi they are very physical and we need our big boys for this game.
i think its because they are playing with superior chile

You don't know that is how Cameroon plays?

They never play organized fanciful football.

Teams like these you need class and artistry to conquer them.

God help us to have Mikel fully fit. He will be greatly needed in that AM position.

2-0 Chile!

This Video analysis is a joke joor.

You"l score and wait for 2mins to confirm whether it is a goal or not.

2-0. FT.

Sanchez the creator of both goals. That is what having even a single world class player can do to your team.

To be sincere, I don't think beating Cameroun will be a walk in the pack..... we have to get our best legs in every position, secondly iwobi shouldn't start this sort of game!!

Glad to hear Cameroon lost. Two more losses and crashing out should deal them a heavy blow psychologically, so they don't come at us with some serious emtal boost.

They'll be wage to stamp their authority with such a performance though, but hopefully, we will also be prepared to stamp ours following the shock defeat to SA

Now that I think I've gotten over that tragic loss, it's good to be back grin

What's up with this Cyriel guy? Should we snag him or....?

Welcome Back Madam First Lady..... wink

As for Cyriel Dessers (my autocorrect wrote desserts grin ), He said he had been contacted by the NFF. So we wait and see....

He also made mention of his mum being happy if he decides to dorn Nigeria's colors.

Hopefully the chase ends well for us. We do stand a good chance with getting him. Time will tell the remaining shaa....

As in eh.... the VAR just tire pesin. I personally don't recommend it for Russia 2018. It is gonna take the fun and thrills off Football.Yuck!!!

Imagine having to celebrate a goal twice in The case of Chile's VAR-approved Second goal.

That first Vargas goal in the first half is a goal without the VAR. Even in Portugal's game with Mexico... wahala.

Abeg #ScrapVAR

Meanwhile, @bolded....

Well said, the intro/presence of Sanchez brought out the quality end-products in Chile's dominance and plays. This is what Just Mikel Obi would have brought against South Africa. Chikena.

Thanks for driving it home with that comment biko. smiley

@ your last paragraph. You expect the competition at the U17 level to be same at senior level?

Let him go back and play against U17s and let's see if the skills have been coached out of him by City.
In other words you're saying he found his level at the U17's?

Cameroun were literally opened up and torn apart times without number in the first half with most of the Chilean incursions/invasion coming from the Camerounian left back's wing.

But this could be easily explained as this:

Fai, the lad who started as left back for Cameroon against Chile is actually a right back predominantly even though he featured a couple of times as a left back for his club side.

The first choice Left back is Oyongo and he is injured hence he is sitting out this tournament
This made Broos utilise Fai as his left back and also saw Mabouka starring as right back.

So Rohr should not think Fai will play left back against us. Oyongo should or may be back by August.

And that will see Fai return to right back.

First half minor brief:

The first 10 mins of that game, Chile tore Fai to pieces time after time down his wing but Ondoa for the most parts and some desperate defending denied Chile.

Even Chile's disallowed first goal due to VAR came through the left-side of the central defence. The Chile no.6 was down that side really troubled them with runs in behind Fai and the midfielders led by Vidal were just sending through those fine throughballs.

First Half... Cameroun did get forward majorly on two occasions to create real chances.. But It was Chile all the way all half.
They kept pressing and opening up Cameroun thru mostly thru Fai's side But couldn't beat That Wall called Ondoa.

WE WILL MEET A WALL IN ONDOA EVEN IF WE BREAK APART NGADJUI AND TEIKU AND THE FULLBACKS.

But I have to point out Cameroun's deadliness from Set pieces.

That goal scored by Ngadjui but was cancelled due to an infringement from aboubakar on a Chilean Defender making way for Ngadjui to convert with a neat header is one to watch.

Michael Ngadjui's goal was no fluke even though it was cancelled. He has done same occasionally for Cameroun and for his club side. He is a force in the Air. Remember his crucial goals for Cameroun against Guinea Bissau and Ghana at the Afcon?? Yes.. he is a towering defender that is also a goal threat from set pieces.

Second half minor brief:

The second half saw Cameroun play a bit more than they did in the first half. Cameroun lacks technical giftedness in the middle but their midfielders' industriousness and tireless plays make up somewhat for it.

Siani and Djoum are good midfield ball players with Siani the DMF and Djoum the CMF... But Djoum can also play DMF if need be.

In Nguissa, they have another tireless runner. Replaced Zoua in Cameroun's Afcon XI. He started the game against Chile.

We saw a moment of little take-on brilliance from bassogog and couple of great moments from Moukandjo but Cameroun's strike force are quite limited and not adventurous enough.

But Remember... it was Chile they played. wink Very solid opposition.

Vincent Aboubakar did pretty good as the no.9 with a few good hold-up plays to bring the likes of Moukandjo and Bassogog in BUT IN ALL CAMEROUN LOOKRD SO DISJOINTED IN ATTACK.

And let us be mindful of giving away set-pieces anyhow around our box because Moukandjo can actually hit them in. He missed today but his growing reputation is known from set pieces including Free kicks.

Cameroun had one game plan all game... Sit back... try to mark out the Chilean players and push them into making misplaced passes and then pick up those loose balls and go on the counter. Cameroun was all about Counter attack today. They have no special interest in bossing possession but they did enjoy a short spell of fine possession play in the second half.

Also, Cameroun's wingers, Bassogog and Captain Moukandjo do fall back to help their fullbacks. That is something I saw time and time again... They are tireless runners People. We really have a big battle on our hands.

This was Cameroun's best and strongest Side apart from the absence of Oyongo. And I hope Rohr and his crew take SOUND notes.

Chile didn't have to go physical with them except for maybe Vidal's occasional physical plays to keep Chile's dominance in midfield.

Chile made use of Quick passing and Mobility to always get behind the Camerounian defence. And mehn those through balls they kept threading through the Camerounian defence especially to the left side of Cameroun's defence were sweet to watch... Mikel can do this.

We NEED MIKEL BADLY FOR THIS CAMEROUN DOUBLE HEADER. We cannot afford to face Cameorun without him.

Conclusion: I could say and type a lot more observations and all but this may do for now. Besides I got things I have to finish up here and for later.... so lemme drop at this point.

The game was fun to watch and really it won't be easy taking on the African Champions. But hopefully we will be ready when the lions come roaring our way in August and September. smiley

Good analysis.

You know, as I was watching how Chile were using those through balls mostly in that first half, I was just talking to myself say ' see what we were supposed to do against SA'.
But well, they are Chile and we are Nigeria.

The way the Chileans were even bossing the Cameroonian midfield with Athletism self. Naija we get a long way to go o.

Creativity and athleticism is the way to go. We also need power players in the defence. The pitbul Gary Mendel and co matched the Cameronians for pace and power which shut down their attacks.
Valdiva was the key man for Chile in the middle. He was too hot to handle. I wish Etebo could be something like that. But I have to be honest, Cameroun played very well.

Revealed – Why FC Porto Refused To Give Nantes Option To Buy Chidozie Awaziem After Loan

Portuguese giants FC Porto transferred two players to French side Nantes as part of the deal for the coach of the French side to join them.

Joris Kayembe and Chidozie Awaziem were the players sent to Nantes by Porto, but while Kayembe was signed permanently by the French side, Awaziem joined the team on a season long loan deal.

Nantes had wanted the deal for Awaziem to include the option to buy permanently next summer but Porto insisted on a straight loan deal for the 20 year old, which will see him return to them next summer.

The reasons from what we gathered has to do with his buy out clause pegged at €20m by Porto when he put pen to paper on a five year deal in 2016, after making the grades to the main team.

Furthermore Porto still rate the newly capped senior national team of Nigeria defender highly, believing he still has a future with the team despite his lack of game time with the first team last season.

This doesn't look good to me. If Nantes does not have the option to buy Awaziem then he is not in their future plans. Disappointed with this development. Well let us see how Ranieri will handle the Talented defender. Porto did not try here at all.
