He trained with U23 mostly to be honest, but even then he was not outstanding. Strong yes, super fast and technical I am sorry No.

There were better boys and younger than him there.

Those boys who were outstanding got promoted to the first team. Two defender CB went from U23 to the first team , when all three first CB got injured.

It's what you do in the youth teams that gives you a bridge to the first team. And then when you get the opportunity or chance do you utilize and make a name for yourself.

Saka got a chance at Arsenal as a 16 year old and claimed a permanent position he just turned 20 a month ago . And he has played 3 competitive season s in the EPL already and is a key player for Arsenal and England national team.

So your proposition about endless training and drills doesn't really cut it for me .

If l look at Liverpool Youth team , my prediction are for a certain 18 year old midfielder James Balagizi, to be the next big thing. It may not happen but that's my view .

A lot of the U23 players will train with the first team and if they impress they get in. Some do it immediately by some needs lots of drilling ( according to you )

In my opinion it's not so deep, managers have preferences and that shows in their selections.

Thiago Alcantara is a good example of my point. Made his debut for Barcelona at 18 in 2009. Was not a key player of the team for over four years but trained with some of the best midfielders of all time. Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets.

By the time he was leaving Barcelona, he was one of the top quality midfielders in the World and went on to have a stellar career at Bayern Munich.

Leaving at 18 to a team like Espanyol for playing time would not have moulded him the way he did at Barcelona.

And you didn’t blame ndidi for that unnecessary foul ba

Ndidi get his own share of the blame but the way Akpeyi set his wall and his positioning, the thing look amateurish.

What if burkina faso defeats Algeria in the last round grin
All the goals scored by Algeria would amount to nothing

It does not amount to nothing over time. Because football is a progressive game. As you keep improving, you get favorable results over a long time.

You might fail in an area and winning many more in another.

Scoring loads of goals is a sign of team growth.

Another logic. grin

It is because of situation like that a team should have a good goalie.

Something like that do happen in football and most of the time, the keeper was able to bail out the team.

The free kick no even pain reach the way those Algerian kids dey use us catch cruise. grin grin

see ehn. . I'm even tired of that man.
If recalling Vicmo will make him win AFCON, he should call him.

Then we are even worse than Mali because we lost to CAR that is an even smaller team.

Africa needs to learn football management in other to succeed at the world stage

Early qualification to tournaments will help greatly in preparation and other logistics.

As it stands, most European and South American countries have qualified earlier and preparations starts in ernest.

Because of CAF format, African teams will have to wait till March to know who qualifies or not. This will not help in preparation and even some duo Nationals are waiting to see which country qualifies for the world cup before pledging allegiance, someone like Olise will be waiting to see who qualifies between Nigeria and Algeria.

Early preparation is the key, Africa learn.

SA coach is a good tactician. He invited fresh and younger players who are committed. I recalled he won the Nation cup with Cameroon 2016/17. Ghana needs extra work tonight
