It is actually a big let down that we don't have wingers who can deliver pin point killer crosses. A cross well delivered is like a by-pass. It shorten the road to the goal. I've seen some excellent goals from great crosses during this Afcon but none of them from our team. It's a shortcoming that has to be worked on.

Unfortunately if you can't do it week in week out in your club and league with all the facilities, coaching staff , sports scientists ,etc After probably several seasons of first team football.

Then you think 3 weeks in the SE will make you a master at it, l doubt this very much.

I've seen Ademola do left and right foot crosses routinely, same with Aina . It's really a basic requirement for most player's whatever the position but an absolutely must have for a winger / wing back .

In nearly all academies this is taught at the most early level.

We're talking about Nwakali from football POV not something that has to do with attractiveness, physique, handsomeness or Twitter followers.

It's better you take your obsessiveness with Maduka to Twitter(his DM maybe) and stop disturbing our football atmosphere here. Whatever you're doing with his picture in the corner of your room ain't our business here madam

We're here for football only please.
Acommodate people at least guy. How many ladies do we have on this thread?

You're not realizing what 12large1 is just realizing about Nwakali.. another thing most of you forget is that football is a job and most countries will want a quota of their indigenous players playing for the top teams and earning a big paycheck.

They will protect the top teams for their indigenes and other Europe:and..

Another thing is they have a perception or stereotype of African footballers especially CAM African players. They convert most of our CAMs to DMs or FBs or WBs.. e.t.c..
You have come again with your stories. No globalists this time ?

Bro... rarely will you see a girl who is so good when it comes to football analysis and I admire her for that.
But her frequent posts about how maduka is fine, how people are gushing in him blah blah blah... That is somewhat ridiculous.
I mean, nothing bad in gushing about someone's attractiveness but it becomes a problem when done almost every minute especially in a football thread like here and in the middle of a tourney.

Nwakali hasn’t done badly

But I will only rate Nwakali when he joins a decent club

I once rated Billings ahead of onyeka ,but reverse is the case now

Nwakali is the luckiest naija player at the afcon

It’s just a normal performance and nothing much
Creating 3 big chances as a CM is no "norml" performance.

Oga stop mentioning players that is beyond our reach

U sef I tire for u...it's like you love seeing Nigeria been embarrassed by some of this innit boys

Ask yourself something why does it take so long ONLY where Nigeria is concerned for a simple administrative change of allegiance with FIFA.

Other countries it takes less than 3/4 weeks other countries in Africa being Sierra Leone Caulker and Cote d'Ivoire (Zaha and Boga )

When you can find an answer to that .

I will tell you that the greater fault is with Nigeria.

When we invited Nwakali to play in an inconsequential friendly with Athletico Madrid Eze was already making waves when Nwakali had not even made a splash. It took Nigeria three years to remember him, in that period England came calling.

Meanwhile waiting in the wings were Oviemuno and lorfa and a few others.

We actually do our inviting on the pages of newspapers we don't do much in creating relationships with players.

And yes I've talked to quite a few of these players, so it's not hearsay.

I don't fancy these ekuke wingers we have who ALWAYS dribble their way into the opposition's danger zone. It's requires too much effort. A beautiful cross can do damage without all that effort. Look at how Iheanacho's pass took out three - four GB defenders.

If Lookman has this in his locker I would like him to be on the right wing and Moses on the left. Ejuke and Chukwueze can be subs.

K. Nwakili has always been a technically gifted player. He was also the free kick specialist in that U17 team. Himself Osimhen and Chukwueze were the standout players of that tournament, and I am glad to see that Nwakili has joined the other two at the next level.
Our performances at U17 from 2013 to 2015 has started yielding fruits for the national team. The two sets alone produced:
Ndidi (2013)
Iheanacho (2013)
Uzoho (2013)
Awoniyi (2013)
Osimhen (2015)
Chukwueze (2015)
Nwakili (2015)
Good job from Manu Garba and Emma Amuneke. Imagine if this kind of production line continued with the 2017 and 2019 sets, the Super Eagles would have been better for it.
The Current NFF Leadership really needs to take Youths football more seriously. Under Pinnick, focus has been more on the Super Eagles. Our youth teams have not done well under him and that will mean that the future of the SE would be hinged on foreign Borns which is not good for local football development.

Ghana stopped doing well at Youths level ever since the MRI was introduced and that has started having it's ugly toll on their national team. I hope that will not be Nigeria's case in a couple of years to come when the current crop have started declining in form. We have so many aged players in that our defense (Awaziem being the youngest) and I think Qatar should be the last WC for a good number of them. We hope younger defenders would emerge soonest.

I would not say so , they have just not been so successful in recent times.

And don't get on our high horse's, Ndidi failed an MRI scan in 2013 and had to leave the squad.

I get your point very clearly but just understand that you are a man, she is a woman. Difference dey. You know, sometimes you have to see things from another's perspective. Some men do behave similarly when it comes to women's football. In fact, men do worse by bodyshaming the ugly ones. Lastly, it's not really been as frequent as you're saying. When something starts to annoy someone, he begins to take note more often grin.

Dem don drag CAF tire for their handle and accused them of corruption

They really snuck in Salah and Mane on the bench and ignored Pepe and Iheanacho that had a better group stage. CAF will never be able to do anything without giving their "star players" unmerited accolades.

You should add teenage sensation Carney Chukwuemeka. I thought Liverpool would have signed him last season when he destroyed thier U18 .

He had already played for the first team at this stage.

Now he has hooked Villa he has not renewed contract and now all the big boys want him including Bayern Munich.
I know carney and hv seen him play but I think we don’t stand a chance getting him

He is a pogba/Bellingham type of player

Some Monikers are damn funny on this Thread. We top our Group with 9pts, conceded just a Goal (pk), yet we shouldn't be optimistic or confident of destroying Tunisia that couldn't make it to the next stage honorably, rather pitifully tagged along.

If our Players are having this kinda defeatism Mentality, we wouldn't have made to the next Round like Ghana. Defeatist should calm down for Triumphalist. We've got to keep the Confidence as Fans, coz it has become a Catalyst, a big Push, great Motivator for the Boys and their Handlers.

Tunisia should be ready to be barbecued. Our Eagles ain't carthage but super.

Even if Super Eagles surpass Algeria unbeaten record, and become Real Madrid of Africa, many will still carry the flag and banner of pessimism proudly. The disappointment in the past is now a strong mathematical constant whenever the team is involved. Its even across all sports. grin

Tunisia will be quaking cos they don't even have their team A right now. I dunno how they'll do it. But Eguavoen has never really failed vs North African teams as far as i remember.
