He made a big mistake going to that club, his agent should have gotten a better deal for him in Seria A

Oga a player plying his trade in the championship is not a toddler that league better than many back water leagues some of our players play in week in week out

Invite him and let him train wit the lads use few minutes to cap tie him and if he continues to improve keep calling him

You guys dont understand how this countries lure and keep talents up till now

The lad is a Dutch citizen as well
that’s our major problem. We tend to allow this kids to reach stardom before seeing them good enough and by then we won’t be able to lure them away from their country of birth

An 18 year old who was very good for relegated derby in the 2nd half of the season is not good enough to earn few minutes that will tie him down to us? Must we wait until he joins any of man united, palace,Newcastle or Monaco who are all rumored to be interested in signing him before we cap him?

He has three options which are England,Netherlands and Nigeria and has already played for one of the dutch youth sides. He verbally agreed on joining our 2019 u17 set to the World Cup but unfortunately the didn’t didn’t make it to the completion

This is the right time to tie him down if the nff are monitoring him

I don't think so. His English is very poor. How can he communicate phrases such as "gengen pressing", " high back line", "diagonal passing", "false nine" etc especially when he has to make tactical switches while play is going on?.

Communication is more important to coaching than many people realize. Maybe that is why Rohr hardly made in-game tactical switches—he probably didn't know the words to use!

Anyways, there are coaches like Pep, Jose and Klopp who have done well in leagues with languages that they are not too conversant with. I wonder how they do it.

His English is enough to communicate those clauses.
You should listen to him again.

Exactly! That was the mistake we made with Eze in Crystal Palace. Pick a young prospect now play him in a qualifier even if it's 1 minute. Then all this struggling with Football super powers for our players will be eliminated.

we also made the same mistake with danjuma then when he was turning heads at NEC in the Dutch 2nd tier before he moved to Belgium

Imagine a whole Argentina capping man united youth teamer Garnacho just to wade off interest from the Spanish national team? Even our African brothers did the same recently by capping another man united U23 player Hannibal just to keep him off the French

Iran did the same with Zindane iqbal who is highly rated at United just to keep the English off

Why can’t we follow suit?

No one is saying these kids should be brought in to displace the ones we hv already but capping them on time makes them ours. We will always be a second option when they reach stardom and hv been noticed by the fa of their country of birth

Even recently France called up kamara who few days ago joined Aston villa from marseille after he has announced that he wish to represent Senegal.

Italy recently invited udogie and Caleb okoli for a 2 day training exercise. Okoli owned by Atalanta just played on loan to a serie B side this season that just ended

Doing so will widen our pool of talent as well as having young talented players who will take over when the older ones calls it a day with the national team

just imagine the case of bassey now

I bet you that if he was yet to be capped by us England or Italy would hv invited him to atleast their u21 teams this break just to tie him down for the future

Capping Bassey is the only reasonable thing Eguavoen achieved for Nigeria in his second stint. If na Papa Rohr now I'm not sure he will play even in these 2 friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador before we talk about a competitive game against Ghana.

Either Ebuehi or Aina sha in the right back position during the 2018 world cup qualifiers.

He would have been perfect
We can't keep a coach like Cocu with the way we owe salaries and bonuses, no coach worth his salt will put up with that.

It is Aina not Ebuehi.

It's Ebuehi actually.. Against Algeria in Constantine...
The result was that Shehu turned out to be ineligible for that game and almost put our qualification in jeopardy

Konate doesn't start over Matip in big games..He start over him in cup games... Matip is for the premier league.... And mind you, Konate is faster and stronger than Matip... Against physically imposing forwards like Benzema, he is needed...
