No be drunkeness. Many of such people think they know abt football bt dey dnt know nada.

A good number of them are young peeps that only started watching football of late. The only memory such peeps have about "the Yak" is that miss against South Korea at the 2010 WC.

Yakubu Ayegbeni was a goals machine. IMO he has been our best striker since after Yekini.
you are right, the yak was a goal machine
the way we treat him was not fair at all

Liverpool fans use Ovie Ejaria's performance against Tottenham to troll Man United's Paul Pogba Man United's £89million man is now getting it in the neck after games that don't even involve Man United SHARE COMMENTS If there's one thing Liverpool fans love more than celebrating Liverpool success, it's laughing at Man United misfortune. The historic animosity between The Reds and The Red Devils (weirdly similar, those nicknames), means Anfield regulars love jumping on any mistakes made by 'that lot from down the M62'. Which brings us to Paul Pogba. Lol this man U nogo kill me with laughter oo, katakata kwa? Am eagerly waiting for the list sha

Seriously I actually thought he was a Nigerian and I was always following his progress. Remember when he won Reading player of the year even as a full back. The guy I doubted his Nigerian link was Josh Onomah, until I saw Oghenetega as his middle name.

Please look into Josh Debayo of Leicester and brief me of his profile because I want our left back problem solved ASAP, pending when Jason Akiotu and Udochukwu Anumudu come of age.

Josh Onomah was also mistaken to be a Ghanaian on his profiles but sir Icon4s cleared the air about his heritage.

He is a pure naija boy and I have always made mention of him here.

About Josh Debayo, I have heard about him but I don't have much information about his talents.

I saw some of the Southampton-fc's U20 matches. I can not really say much about him but I know since he is in Leicester first team, he may be decent.

The other two you mentioned will take time before they get to limelight.

Former Belgium boss Georges Leekens named Algeria coach

Former Belgium boss Georges Leekens was named Algeria coach on Thursday, two days after losing his job at Belgian club Lokeren.

The Algerian Football Federation said that Leekens, 67, had been chosen to replace Serbian Milovan Rajevac, who was sacked following Algeria's home draw with Cameroon in the opening round of African World Cup group qualifiers earlier this month.

Leekens, who twice coached Belgium and was in charge of Tunisia at the 2015 African Nations Cup finals, returns to the post he held for six months in 2003 before quitting for "family reasons".

His first assignment with Algeria will be a World Cup qualifier away to Nigeria in Uyo on Nov. 12.

Algeria will then take part in the 2017 African Nations Cup finals in Gabon in January, where they have been drawn in Group B with Zimbabwe, Tunisia and Senegal.

Leekens left Lokeren after they lost 2-1 to Oostende in the Belgian league on Tuesday, which left them struggling near the foot of the table, having lost eight of their opening 12 games of the season.

The much-travelled coach had been at Lokeren for a year.

SIASIA GETS 5 MONTHS UNPAID
SALARIES...FINALLY

Samson Siasia is now a happy man after the
Nigeria Football Federation paid him 15 million
Naira being his salary for five months as coach of the country’s Olympic team.

Siasia, who led the country to win bronze at the
Rio 2016 Olympics Games, has been on the neck of the NFF president Amaju Pinnick and even promised at some point that he will relocate from his house to the glass house until his salaries are paid.

All that is now in the past as Siasia is a happy
man again as all monies owed the former Super
Eagles coach were paid directly into his account
on Thursday.

Siasia, who only recently returned from a job
interview in Qatar, took over the Super Eagles
from Sunday Oliseh but failed in a last-gasp effort to qualify Nigeria for the 2017 AFCON in Gabon after picking just one point from two games against Egypt.

He is currently out of contract as his deal with the football house expired after the Rio games but he is still on the fringes expecting that something new may come up in no distant future.

WATFORD ANNOUNCE ISAAC SUCCESS OUT
OF WORLD CUP QUALIFIER VS ALGERIA

Watford have announced Nigeria striker Isaac
Success will miss next month’s World Cup
qualifier against Algeria due to injury.

The Watford star suffered a thigh injury in
Watford match against Middlesbrough and was
flown out to Barcelona alongside one of the
medical staff for treatment early this week.

He has been ruled out of Watford tie against Hull City this weekend and will also not be fit until after the international break.

Walter Mazzari the manager of Watford took to
Twitter Thursday evening to express his
disappointment about the unavailability of his star striker.

According to Mazzari, "Isaac Success being out for Hull game is the biggest disappointment since I realised it isn't Christmas today.”

Mazzari, who is unable to give timescale as
Success is ruled out, further said, "We'll be able
to be more precise after the international break.”

This shows that Success, who has yet to be
capped at full international level, will not be part
of Super Eagles squad against Algeria in Uyo
come November 12.

Injury also kept him out of another World Cup
clash in Zambia earlier this month.

TheGoodJoe:

Has Fabregas played a game this season? Unless you decided to block your eyes to the truth. Mikel has not made bench. Fabregas has started three games for Chelsea this season.

We are talking how come Mikel never smelt bench. You are talking of a player that has played games this season.

You have no reason why Conte is not playing Fabregas regularly. There might be a personal reason we do not know. As for Mikel, no matter how you try to avoid it, Conte said he needs him to win games. Simple.

After the Olympics, not even bench.

How can someone compare a player that started three games to a player that has not smelt bench beats my imagination.
Mourinho said something similar yet Mikel didn't never got near his team. Conte made a political statement after signing kante and you take it hook line and sinker..
If conte believed so much in Mikel, you think going to the Olympics which ended since July would be a reason for not playing him 2 months after? You're talking about a guy who have analysed his team and came to the conclusion certain players have no place in his team and you're taking about Olympics.

By this time last season how many starts did Fabregas have?

Isn't Conte quoted saying Fabregas is a great player?

“Talks were held between Mikel and the manager. As for now he has been told he can leave in January, mind you his contract is set to expire in the summer”

From the quoted, Mikel have been asked to leave by the manager and as a responsible family man, he is already looking out for a club in city/country that will suit his family.
It's only a Nigerian who wants to whip up sentiments will point to the Olympics as the reason Chelsea decided to part ways with Mikel. Its not as if his contract is being terminated because he broke his knee cap which will take 2 years to heal at the Olympics.
Get over this childish sentiments please

Ehizibue Shows Why Nigeria Wants To Lure
Him From Holland With Goal For PEC Zwolle In Cup Game

Dutch Born Nigerian defender Kingsley Ehizibue
has further confirmed his worth as a top prospect, by his second goal of the season as PEC Zwolle secure progress in the Dutch Cup with a 2-1 win over VVV Venlo.

Ehizibue struck in the 29th minute to put his
team on course for the all important win, and
adding to his season goal tally in the process with his other goal coming in their 1-1 draw against Utrecht in the league.

Comfortable as a right back or winger, the 21
year old who was recently capped by the
Netherlands at youth level is still eligible to
represent Nigeria.

Attempts by Nigeria to lure him is in top gear with manager Gernot Rohr keen on strengthening the right side of the Nigerian team.

However his switch could take some time to
happen in regards to documentations as FIFA will have to ratify any attempt from the full back to play for Nigeria after representing the
Netherlands.

He also qualifies to represent Germany, the land
of his birth as well.

Paper Work Issues Could Stop Dutch Nigerian Ebuehi From Honouring Super Eagles Call Up

Reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com has it that Tyronne Ebuehi
might not honour the invitation to the Nigeria
senior national team, due to issues bothering on
documentation.

Ebuehi as exclusively reported by
Owngoalnigeria.com is in the list of players, that
the coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot
Rohr has penciled down for the November 12
qualifiers against Algeria in Uyo.

The ADO Den Haag defender has made five

”Ebuehi is in the list but he might not make it for the game against Algeria, unless he gets a
Nigerian passport before next month. For now he is not in possession of one and he needs it to play for Nigeria” Super Eagles insider @muyiwalawal told Owngoalnigeria.com.

On the contrary, I was impressed.

For his age he showed so much confidence. Not shy of taking on the position. And he has this excellent ball holding capabilities. Very skillful and creative. He did better than most of those Arsenal Ajebos that played against Reading.

Due to the formation Chelsea played he played more as LMF than as a LB.

He did ok for me for a player of his age though I am still trying to figure out where to fix him in the Super Eagles if i was Rohr.

Well, he needs to work on making impacts in games rather trying to impress with his skills.

Maybe because he played LMF he was unable to show his worth but I expected much from him.

I think he should play from the RB.

happen in regards to documentations as FIFA will have to ratify any attempt from the full back to play for Nigeria after representing the
Netherlands.

He also qualifies to represent Germany, the land
of his birth as well.

I think this boy should not be ignored by our scouts.

He seems to be a very good player.

I don't think he will stay in this small club for long because he's too good to play for one of the best clubs in the world.

Well, make dem cap Ebuechi and Brian first then we will now move to this versatile player.

But I am not happy the way we are treating Otigba.

How long will it take to change Nationally?

goldfish80:

Mourinho said something similar yet Mikel didn't never got near his team. Conte made a political statement after signing kante and you take it hook line and sinker..
If conte believed so much in Mikel, you think going to the Olympics which ended since July would be a reason for not playing him 2 months after? You're talking about a guy who have analysed his team and came to the conclusion certain players have no place in his team and you're taking about Olympics.

By this time last season how many starts did Fabregas have?

Isn't Conte quoted saying Fabregas is a great player?

From the quoted, Mikel have been asked to leave by the manager and as a responsible family man, he is already looking out for a club in city/country that will suit his family.
It's only a Nigerian who wants to whip up sentiments will point to the Olympics as the reason Chelsea decided to part ways with Mikel. Its not as if his contract is being terminated because he broke his knee cap which will take 2 years to heal at the Olympics.
Get over this childish sentiments please

Maybe you think I want Mikel at Chelsea. I do not. Mikel is one of the best players I saw as a youngster. Playing in a more creative role under Keshi showed that guy was always the Creative genius we expected him to become.

Chelsea hindered Mikel's individual shine and I want him to show it for a few years.

I want Mikel in a league with high audience but I want him under a team that plays in a possessive way. I want to see Mikel in the middle of the action.

Many Chelsea fans do not appreciate his efforts and sacrifices for the team to win titles. They do not get his impact in the club.

I want him out and I am happy Conte asked him to leave.

With Brian Idowu and Ebuehi, two natural full backs, Musa Muhammad better start looking for a new club if he ever wants to play for Nigeria.

After another night of hearing fans chanting insults as he guided Chelsea to an FA Cup quarter-final showdown at Manchester United, Benitez snapped and confirmed he would definitely be leaving the club.

As Benitez worked hard to guide Chelsea to win the Europa, Chelsea fans held derogatory banners and chanted insults at him. What kind of attitude is that?

After all Emenalo did for Chelsea. The best and most successful technical director in the Club's history and this is the thank you he gets.

Do not think I am sad Mikel is leaving. I am happy.

I just wish Echiejile can be directly threatened also for his role.

Josh Debayo (19), Akiotu and even Idowu (reports say he play leftback too... Don't know how efficient he is down the left though) can be options in the long run.

Musa Mohammed needs a club miracle fast.

Esperance Defender Says Algeria Will Beat
Nigeria By Hook Or By Crook

Esperance defender Hicham Belkaroui says the
Algerian national team will do everything possible to beat Nigeria in Uyo when both countries face off in a World Cup qualifier on November 12.

The Desert Foxes will trail the Super Eagles by five points if they lose the match day two fixture, and Belkaroui has openly suggested that they will leave the Akwa Ibom International Stadium with three points by hook or by crook.

“I would like to say that we will do everything to
bring a smile back to our people, Inshallah,
returning with an excellent result, ” said Hicham
Belkaroui to Le Buteur.

“Listen, I’ll be very frank with you, our only goal is victory in Nigeria. We will target the three points.

“You can ask any player, his answer will be the
same, victory and nothing but the victory
regardless of the way.”

The Algerian Federation have confirmed the
appointment of experienced Belgian tactician
Georges Leekens as coach of the national team
ahead of the trip to Nigeria.

I don't know for this annoying NFF...... I'm sick of them.

Pinnick talking to a certain Fejiri called to England U-23 backups list when Otigba is ready and waiting.

Abeg... their entropy don tire me. #BackToPlayersHunting_Monitoring

Idowu also plays left back but i suspect he is in the team as an option for right back not left back especially if Amuzie makes the list.

grin That is until I see them on list. grin

It seems somebory is reading comments here. grin

Truth is that both players and coaches surf the Internet and read news and fans reviews of their games.
I know Joseph Yobo was a regular on kickoffnigeria.
Rohr appears to be a studios coach so far. I won't be surprised he surfs the net to review players available to him.
This thread will appear on the first page of any search engine. cool
