Most of the players I've been following are in their early 20s.

It would be hard for Rohr to drop Onazi oo.

And its not like Onazi is a bad player just that players that cant play simple passes bores the hell out of me. Ogu has no vision but he can play simple clean passes.

Mujtahida:

You project alot. You are as guilty of prejudice as those you accuse. But you are so steeped in your prejudice that you think your own view is all that there is and that's why you are shocked when people see things from other perspectives and the only way for you to cope is to label them 'emotive negative prejudice'. And when you have deflected attention to others, you tuck in safely behind your own prejudices and continue your song.

Na so. Let the Coaches invite him. If he performs, good for him. Tell me - how many players from the much vaunted 94 set played first team football in the best teams in the best leagues? Where were Amokachi, Rashidi, Siasia, Keshi, Ugbade, Amunike, Iroha etc playing then?

Please tell me where the leagues in south America apart from Brazil rank? Yet south American countries routinely feature players from their league.
I don't give a hoot where a player plays. I'm prejudiced against our home based players but if an home based player is invited and he performs then good for him.
Dessers is not in the second division. He's in the Eredevisie. Are you not the one who a while ago was saying that Nigeria must not wait for England to discover players for us? That doesn't matter so long as it is England. But if it's outside England we have to wait for the player to be bought by Real Madrid before we know he's quality.

EPL, championship and league one- are these not where you were headed to since? I've said it and repeat it again- until our team is populated from 1-23 by UK league players you won't rest. Look at the disdain with which you talk about the Dutch and Belgian league. You are guilty of negative emotive prejudice.
The bolded is not an ancient, unchanging law of the Medes and Persians. At best it's just a guide and it should be a very, very flexible one at that.

The exceptions are why you cannot make an absolute criteria which players must pass. Ebuehi's performance was good. Not the best but he's shown great potential, to have played in such a way that even the foreign press took note is no mean feat. But before then and even now you spat on him, Shehu and others from leagues outside of your beloved EPL and Championship even league one. If it were Aina that performed as good as Ebuehi you for no let us rest because even before his two outings for us you no let us rest. don't think I don't like Aina. I do and I've defended him against those who want to put him down but you are negatively emotively, subjectively prejudiced against Ebuehi and others of his ilk. You use one measure for Aina and another for Ebuehi. Aina is in the Championship, Ebuehi is in the Eredevisie. Who is on a higher level? I know you will say that the English championship is higher than the Eredevisie which is ranked 12th. All that doesn't cut it. Come and perform. That's all.
Read what Toyin ibitoye NFF press officer said

An objective based argument is one that is based on proven facts, authoritative and substantive facts not prejudice.

What are the facts

1) The EPL is rated Number 1 or 2 in the world depending which respected and or authoritative ratings body you make reference too.

https://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/uefarankings/country/
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1458287-ranking-the-top-20-world-football-leagues-statistically
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2836244/Premier-League-emerges-best-world-following-Sportsmail-s-depth-study-global-football.html
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/786046-power-ranking-the-top-30-leagues-in-europe
https://howtheyplay.com/team-sports/10-Reasons-Why-All-The-World-Loves-The-EPL

2) Ratings are not absolutes but indicators for informed projection to be made. Using the baseline data, is it prejudice to rate a league higher in a far higher rated league because that's what you call it.

3) The ratings of a league and a top team in that league have an impact on the player rating as well , is that what you call prejudice

4) A methodology based on performance measurements devoid of personal subjective and emotive preferences is what clubs use around the world to identify players in the first instance. That is what you call prejudice

5) What these methodical objective based assessments highlight in the world context is how far the Chines league has come up and how high some of the south American leagues are.

6) In the 1990's like other things our domestic leagues were strong and there was not a mad dash to leave Nigeria. That is a complete irreverent comparison as things stand now and have been for over 10 years, your statement is totally misleading, WHY Consider that ; Amokachi was at Brugge and the stand out player before going to Everton. Yekini was the top goal scorer in the Portuguese league, 2015 I was at Sporting Braga the then sporting Director Augustino was still talking about him with amazement. For goodnes sake Amunike was at Sporting L then went on to Barcelona. I really do not need to talk about the Ajax boys of Finidi, Oliseh, Kanu and later Tijani. In comparison our current set of players are actually very badly under achieving our player of that era were in the top clubs and leagues of Europe. So what on earth is your point you are giving credence to show yourself as being bigoted and having unjustifiable animosity emanating from prejudice.

7) Lets have an elementary lesson , what is prejudice preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience What do you know about English football How many EPL and English league coaches and managers do you now How many coaching sessions have you watched and or coached, how many players do you know, live games watched, etc , etc

cool My primary area of experiential knowledge and understanding is English football, it is not prejudice but specialism. Yes I speak to people in the Eredivisie not managers mainly coaches and recruiters. But i would not proffer their opinions here and therefore reluctant to make in depth commentary on their players beyond the basics.

9) It was alleged that i do not consider players outside of the EPL , which is not true. I gave credence by giving examples of numerous players who left League 1 straight into the EPL. But with the proviso that they should be outstanding in team and league as the justification for a call up.

10) It is methodical and objective to consider players in a far higher league as being superior on average. That is not prejudice , but measurable and proven fact all things being equal or generally speaking. Of course there will be exceptions. The Eredivisie is ranked over 10 places below the EPL that is a huge gulf. Is it therefore not feasible to rank the Eredivisie on par or even lower than the English Championship and in that regard the Norwegian league which is 30 places below on par or much lower than League 1. Is that prejudice or methodical comparison measurement

11)The highest goals to game ratio in European leagues, is in the Eredivisie who often manage over 3 goals per game. But what does that say about a league where goals come so cheaply Form your own opinion.

Finally, can the vitriolic, antagonistic, spiteful and rancorous rhetoric stop
as some of us sound like a bitter woman scorned on her wedding day left holding the flowers with no bridegroom shocked shocked We can agree to disagree, i am not part of the NFF and would never be officially, all i give are opinions.

We will be promoting mediocrity if we keep calling for federal character.
The best should always be given a chance regardless of where they come from.
Naturally every tribe will be represented in all sectors.

Yes the best should be given chance but when it come to sports pls give it to south east and south south and if you see any south west or northerners in sports they are extremely good.

It's simple northerners don't give their ward very access to sports though the north central still allowed their kids to do sports but can't be compared to full blessing Igbo or South South man w give his children.

Am a Yoruba man and i know how Yorubas take sports, they want you to be in school most Yoruba guys you see in sports are stubborn types, very few see the support of their parents.

My growing up as a boy who love football and very talented was difficult cos my Dad believe so much in education, our house was just a minute to the Stadium. I wake up to see stadium main bowl every morning.but dodge to go to stadium despite my talent.

My mates who have the opportunity of going to the stadium were well developed after secondary school, one even make it to Japan 93 squad in 1992 as secondary school boy, some played in the local league, some played professional football, at least 5 played as a full fledged national team player, one played in EPL while one played as FB for an European country at 2002 WC.Most of these guys are Igbo boys.

After my sec sch i have little freedom in the university but i w not deceive you too late cos my peers in football ahead in term of fitness and confidence,I just played normal University games nothing more,my mind was on education not football.

What am try to say is that the Igbo and Niger deltan we always have an edge over other tribes. They received early support from their parents than any other tribes and there is no way you can meet up with them, that's just the fact.

I hate to go down this road but I have to: Amaju Pinnick is from Delta State, the first vice president of the NFF S. Akinwummi as well the NFF media officer Toyin Ibitoye are yoruba. The second vice president is Shehu Dikko from the North. Rohr has three Nigerian Coaches Salisu Yusuf from the North, Amapakabo is an okrika man, Alloy Agu is Igbo.

So if a Yoruba man is crying that yoruba players are not given a chance(and it's so clear now to me that that is what it is) does he know better than S. Akinwummi and Toyin Ibitoye who are in a position to influence things?

We have the strange case of Uche Agbo who has been invited for almost a year now without even a single game time. Nobody talks about him. Even the press is silent about him. Yet it's like the guy is a patient man waiting for his opportunity.

Rohr doesn't invite Kayode, wahala. He invites him even more wahala.

It makes me sad when accusations of tribalism begins to be made against this team.

If the teams likes let it be populated by gworo chewing abokis. Just play good football and win games. To hell with whatever tribe.

You make an allegation indeed a very rancorous one at that , but you do not back it up with facts or any reference, that is creating animosity for no reason, unless you have your own hidden reasons.

Then you end with a very friendly all encompassing statement , I am confused.

Don't mind the journalist putting a spin on what the young man said. Did you see the headline in the body of the article? In fact that he did that interview in Dutch to Ado den haag TV.

The young man even sounds like one who is struck by the wonder of the opportunity he's gotten as a member of our team.
In an interview he said when Troost first contacted him, he(Ebuehi) was surprised because we(Nigeria) have players all over the World. Does that sound like a player who would now be boasting that as that spurious headline seems to insinuate?

So you don't know that on this thread we have evolved a principle of filtering information because we have discovered that most of the news are either false or full of misinformation.
Joebie would say don't follow the headline. Follow the direct quotes in the article.
I didn't just read the headline, I read the quote too. And you can see the contents.

Or are you saying the news if false?

Well like I said naturally all tribes will be represented. But we can't expect an equal distribution. So we are saying almost the same thing.
It's just like expecting that Americans would have lots of soccer stars, when in reality many of the kids will not consider soccer as their first choice. So their best athletes gave american football, basketball etc more priority during their development because that's their top sports nationally.
So yes different tribes have different value system. The Yorubas have always been known to put priority in education. So that can be a factor.
Although your typical upbringing can also be seen in other non-yoruba homes. So what you have here is a generalization.

Growing up I've realized success has many definitions. The focus on education is mainly to acquire jobs, but we are no longer in the industrial age. Things have changed a lot and that's why we see successful people in so many different fields of endeavor.

Thanks for the acknowledgement, believe me, it means a lot to me.

You See, tribalism/racism is a very irritating concept to me and those who are accused of such are people who're not exposed, who have not seen the world from the other sides (No apologies to whoever takes offence)

I have lots of Peruvian, Ecuadorian friends, some of these guys even show me love than some of my countrymen, so ironic. Just because I'm not from their side of the country, I'm considered a stranger.

I try as much as I can to be globalized, so when I speak, people never guess right where I'm from, some would go as far as labeling me British.
Only few people here know my tribe because I told them.

I have a background with the Dutchs, was born in the West, spent almost 2 decades there, I'm from the northern (central) part of the country, that's where I live presently, that same part shares borders with some Eastern states and a southern state as well.

So you see, I've been in touch with virtually all parts of the country, I speak Yoruba, Hausa, Igede, Warri pidgin fluently, and when I do, there's no need asking me where i'm from.

Just imagine me walking down the street of Miami and someone asks me. "¿Estás perdido?" and I answer "sí, señor, estoy buscando a mi amigo, su nombre es Miguel"

I just communicated with a complete stranger, because I've been exposed to his culture.

I just wish people expose themselves to other people's culture, understand them, that's the only thing that can cure this disease of tribalism.

Let's consider the quotes together.

“I played against Angel Di Maria, a great player of course, and I cannot quite realise that I can play against him
Defensively, I stood my ground, and offensively I tried to do as much as possible, and it all went well, I think.”
“All of a sudden you play against world stars, normally you see them on TV or you play them with FIFA on the computer,”
“I think it (playing against Argentina) went well, I have a lot of speed and I try to get a lot of the ball,”
“I think I left a good impression, it would be nice, that I play at the World Cup next year.”

The last quote is the only one where player seems to suggesting something. But the player is just saying he THINKS he left a good impression -- which he actually did. But the following remark is a hopeful one. Even players that didn't get to play are still hopeful, and they have as well expressed their hope.
It's not in anyway saying he deserves to go to the World Cup just by that performance if that's what the headline was suggesting.

Friends, Countrymen, Nairalanders....

He is good but who is he gonna displace?

Each time I read this line I feel a bit of disappointment. Prior to the match against Argentina, that line kinda worked perfectly. Then came the 3-5-2 formation and then suddenly the regulars can actually be benched. Wow! I never thought I would see the day. This is why we should not get ahead of ourselves here. There can only be one captain of a ship.and so there can only be one technical adviser/coach for the super eagles. All our speculations on what our starting 11 should always look like is getting flawed day by day. We should leave that to Gernot Rohr. He is the leader of the team and he is the one with direction we are heading as a team. He alone has the road map to our destination. Wresting leadership from his hands is tantamount to chaos and the moment a leader cedes destination over to his followers, there is bound to be catastrophe.

Rohr knows the people he wants in his team and what he wants to achieve. The best we can do is support him. If Rohr decides to invite one backwater league player to the National team, it is because he sees something in the player which isnt obvious to us. This talk of who is he gonna bench should stop. Bottomline is any player can be started and any player can be benched. This is what gives rise to quality performance. So long as the coach does the right thing at all times and he gets the right results, then we should relax.

I am not saying that Rohr gets it right all the time but my argument is any player can be started and any player can be benched. Period!

Firstly , i appreciate your sincere approach.

But do not presume, do you really think Rohr knows anything about the Norwegian league, there will be whole series of people official and unofficial that advise him. A good number will have their own agendas.

I call them gate keepers. You really do not know sometimes what your gate-man is doing to those who seek audience with you. He could be charging a gate fee unknown to you. Particularly , you will never have the time to check or even discover unless he slips up, it could go on ad finitum.

Football should be about equity and Fair-play however in reality it is not. The most important word for a player is OPPORTUNITY and those who are most deserving should get it the opportunity. But that doesn't always happen.

For instance anybody who has three O/Levels and applies themselves at university should be able to make a good degree. However, the opportunity to study is restricted, justified, qualified by the minimum requisite qualifications and JAMB score. People by pass all that in numerous ways and still graduate , is it RIGHT or JUSTIFIABLE

In the same way you do not have to be the best just good enough. So if given an undeserving opportunity to come to the SE you may still perform, IS IT RIGHT OR JUSTIFIABLE

My prejudiced, biased and sentiment view as some have called it, is that your club top rated consistent performances balanced by the league you play in are the basis for a SE CALL UP and recognition for outstanding achievement. These attributes are usually open and there for all to see, the examples of the teenagers KC, Mbappe, Dembele, etc come to mind.

I am saying they put a spin on the news. Show me in the article where he said he deserves a place in Rohr's World Cup team

I deserve a place in Rohr's World Cup team is not the same as saying 'I think I left a good impression, it would be nice that I play in Russia next year'

If you write an exam and you come out saying you deserve to pass that connotes you having a sense of entitlement. But if you say you feel you have done well and that it would be nice if you pass that's expressing hope.

In any case the young man is still under probation.

Chai! See interpretation. grin

I am a critical thinker and I analysis issues based on the parameters on ground.

My opinions are not formed from illusion or delusion but from the facts on ground.

Now, before you start calling me names, let me present to you once again the matter that led to your false accusations.

Your false accusation came after I replied a comment that said and i quote. 'Once you perform you get invited. Same trend happened with Ighalo, Onyekuru, Uzoho. All talk about bribe, corruption and nepotism are unfounded and should be hushed up'.

As you can see, the @ bolded caught my attention. 'Once you perform you get invited' my eyes popped out ..toyonyon.. What! shocked for where!

In response, I emphasized on three players of which one invitation is very questionable and raised eyebrows.

That particular player is Chidiebere Nwakali of whom if we speak statistically has done nothing tangible, in regards to performance this season to have justified an invitation.

Or do you think he justifies an invitation based on that quotation?

See I can also call you a bigot and tribalist if you justify his invitation because your are IGBO.

I can even tag all those who did so as IGBOS because majority of his supporters here are IGBOS but I am very careful to restore to name calling and eventually ruin my reasoning hence the need to analysis issues based on solid facts on ground which I have done so far.

However, the debate on 'once you perform you get invited' again raised my curiosity and doubt when Kayode is put into the picture.

Because if 'once you perform you get invited' is the SI unit measurement used for invitation then why was Kayode Olanrewaju not considered on the three occasions he found himself in team?

Pls, take note that on those three occasions that he was finally invited, Kayode was not initially on the list despite his eyes catching performance that won him best player and top goal scorer in the Austrian league which was also acknowledged by Man city and Guardiola.

Now, to add salt to injury, when he came for the first two friendlies, the coach didn't deem it fit to try the new kid on the block on the position he won awards and didn't even start him in the second friendly but rather he played him out of position and gave him 14 and 20 minutes each. What dos that mean? Is friendlies no longer used to see players?

The last time he called him due to injures on the part of players initially invited, it was for a dead rubber match and a friendly but he gave him just 3 minutes out of 180 minutes of football. Smh

But you think all is well and his assertion should not be contested?

Abraham who was just invited to the English had started for England and so it was done to any player called by the top teams in the world. Why is ours different?

Alampasu has not been given the chance since he was invited despite the fact he did very well against fc Porto. Abi, is Girona better than fc Porto?

How come he has not been tested over 5 good friendlies?

Or having a clean sheet against former UEFA champions does not impose enough confidence in Alloy Agu?

Think Think and Think.

Now, Igbo is me I am Igbo. How? I am no saying I am but that is it..

Hating Igbo is hating myself. Period. grin

I tell you again: you will do your self good by purging ur heart of Nepotism.

I am not Igbo, so don't think I am on a solidarity mission.

Icon4s said something: that he cares less about comments that are not meaningful or something like that. Have you not noticed he has stopped engaging in discussions with you?

I don't comment much here but I do plenty of observations. I too have personally stopped reading most of your comments. Until you change your approach.

You make an allegation indeed a very rancorous one at that , but you do not back it up with facts or any reference, that is creating animosity for no reason, unless you have your own hidden reasons.

Then you end with a very friendly all encompassing statement , I am confused.
I was careful to make that accusation. Infact I have defended him against those who before now accused him of tribal bigotry. However after reading his comments this morning I had the impression that he was looking at things through ethnic prism hence my accusation. He's come out to say that is not how he looks at things and I have withdrawn my accusation.

My emphasises have always been harmmered on performance and not equal representative of tribes. That, I have tried to justify with proven facts.

Is that difficult to perceive or understand?

If players neglected happen to be from one particular tribe and are performing well, does it matters if one advocate for them? Does it make ones campaign a call for equal representation of ethnic groups in the SE even when it is clear they are better than some players in the SE?

Does it matter who and where the advocate comes from?

Is Komen seeking equal representation of ethnic groups by voicing out for Aluko, Martins, Onomah, Tammy etc? Is he a tribal bigot?

Focus on the message and not the messenger so doing, you can have a sound reasoning.

You know my major problem with you? You come out too strongly when making a case for players you like.

You throw strong words like : Tribalism, Bribery, corruption, Moi Moi league, Nepotism, Bigotry, "this player is better than everyone in the present team"

When you bring up these accusations, you imply that all the players in the team are not good enough, and are only there as a result of corruption, it's only human psychology that people would spring up defensively against such strong accusations and by the end of the day the players you make cases for end up being hated.

Who has ever said anything bad about Ajagun? In fact, I say this on behalf of everybody here, No one on this thread hate Martins, he's everyone's favorite. Most of us on this thread pushed for the inclusion of Kayode in the team, What about Raheem Lawal, people love the way he plays, you've started to make people hate these players we once loved.

In the past, someone on this thread said they hated you, not quite long ago, another threatened to behead you, just because you come out too strong.

If I were you, I'd be watching my back.

Thanks for the acknowledgement, believe me, it means a lot to me.

You See, tribalism/racism is a very irritating concept to me and those who are accused of such is someone who's not exposed, who has not seen the world from the other sides (No apologies to whoever takes offence)

I have lots of Peruvian, Ecuadorian friends, some of these guys even show me love than some of my countrymen just because I'm not from their part of the country. Even when I speak, people never guess right where I'm from, some would go as far as labeling me British.

Como estas Amigo

I couldn't but help laughing about your experience in Miami.

I got lost in Miami and found myself in Liberty city in my shiny new rental car, realized i was going to get mugged and not with a cutlass but a .9mm . Decided using Queens English would be a re flag to a bull, or Warr pidgin no go work here. I jumped out the car and called to the first'G' , " Yo dreader, whappen, step across a me wan callin u" I speak fluent patwa and so they though i was one of the numerous Rude bwoy bout d place, and i escaped.

I speak Igbo, Uhrobo/Isoko and some basic Yoruba, i am de tribalised too.

Barcelona do homework on Everton loanee Henry Onyekuru

FC Barcelona sent scouts to observe Nigerian star Henry Onyekuru, who on Saturday scored his seventh goal this season for Anderlecht.

Clubs lining up for Onyekuru

According to CompleteSportsNigeria, apart from Barcelona, clubs including Manchester United, Tottenham, Ajax, Fiorentina, PSV, Southampton and Stoke City are also believed to have sent scouts to see the player in action. A report in 90minutesgoal.com claims that Tottenham are interested in the striker as a potential replacement for Harry Kane.

"Yes, Tottenham are watching proceedings and have made contact with Him (Henry Onyekuru) about a potential move, they see him as the next big thing and a good replacement for Harry Kane who they feel might join Madrid next summer,” a Spurs source told 90MinutesGoal.com.

In June, Onyekuru made his international debut for Nigeria in a 3-0 friendly win over Togo. He was also featured in the Super Eagles’ 2018 World Cup qualifier against Algeria earlier this month which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Tbaba1234, Joebie and Mujtahida, u guys disappointed me today. Men of ur class shouldn't stoop so low to exchange words with kids in here. A man of repute doesn't engage a man of no substance or value in a fight bkus it will amount to bringing himself to disrepute to the glory of the destitute he engaged. The best way to treat a lunatic is; totally ignore him whenever he is acting funny. We know the men here and we also know the kids amongst us, yes we don't segregate but when one makes himself a black sheep, u treat him like one, by acting like he doesn't exist. Don't give credence to their preposterous and puerile posts that reeks of tribalism and insensitivity.

The thing is people are often afraid to call a spade what it is.

His SOLE mission has been clear right from his first post on here.

I honestly don't think he's a tribal bigot but what I think is he enjoys taunting people with ridiculous comments. It really is just a hobby for him. I might be wrong though.

I need your opinions Ic.on4s Ser.Vik k.og45 s.olonnachi Muj.tahida jun.nyjake and the rest of us online right now.
Name your top 5 Nigerian teen footballers based on their performances so far this season.

1. Bonaventure - Moved from Ukraine to Belgium and he hit the ground running straight up. I hope he picks up from where he stopped after coming back from injury.

2. Francis Uzoho - Being the youngest foreign GK to feature in the LaLiga simply means he had a positive impression on his handlers. Impressing also on his NT debut.

3.Orji Okonkwo - As a foreign teenager, making your way from the B - team to the 1st team is no easy feat, scoring 2 goals in the process too. Worth applauding.

4. Bright Enobakhare - He's been doing fine for Wolves presently, scoring goals, so he deserves a place in the list.

5.Chidiera ejike - This young man, if he continues with his present form, he won't last long in Norway, the kind of goals end scores as a midfielder tells you about him quality.
