Amunike is working in Egypt right now oga. Finidi just had harsh words for our coach so why would he be hired to work under him?

Did they call amunike for the job and be refused

somehow I am not against Yobo's progress ooo but I believe he is not competent for the job that's my honest view...

dude should have been made an under 20 team assistant or so

The defence should know how to mark the ball to prevent a goal

The defender should not allow him to shoot other wise he will score

Yobo can be a revelation. I feel good about the appointment.

I totally agree. This is a man who knows exactly how the super eagles work and he will be great for our young defenders

Okay what about Arteta? Worked with Pep at City. John Terry Aston Villa? Ryan Giggs Manchester? Kompany is a player coach in Belgium. None of these guys had coaching experience before they were hired

It’s only in Nigeria that one becomes a national team coach without any formal coaching experience! How could some begin his coaching career with the national team? And you wonder why Nigeria has remained a failed state?

Blind leaders of the blind!

Breaking news: Joseph Yobo is new Super Eagles Assistant Coach. He replaces Imama Amapakabo in the Super Eagles coaching set-up.

Wow!

Gary Neville played at the highest level as a defender but he was not a good coach at Valencia.

And this is someone that at least has a coaching certificate.

besides Kompany who combines being a player coach...

the others got their UEFA badges prior being an assistant
what badges has YObO not even CAF coaching license

will even pick Sir. Komekn to coach the super eagles over this two failed coaches

What the heck does Gary have to do with Joseph angry and how do you know Yobo doesn't have his badge?

Yobo might end up becoming a good coach but at the moment, he is not qualified and shouldn't be considered for such a top position.

He should start from under 17 and under 20 to learn the basics of coaching.
You mean he is not qualified. Experience is not a must for an assistant coach

Only in Nigeria that people clamour for head coaches to become assistants.

This talk is ridiculous. Number one he is the assistant coach not U23 or CHAN. I don't even know what most assistant coaches look like. U people just feel like u should be angry but there is absolutely nothing to complain about. Yobo will be a super addition mark my words

Not only experience, what coaching certificates does he have? You have to start from somewhere.

We know the qualifications of Oliseh, Amokachi, Amuneke and Finidi..

Assistant coach of the super eagles should be able to offer credible tactical insights to assist the coach.

It is not the role of a novice.

Simple. Imama and Salisu did nothing but sit down and look cute during our matches and they are now trying to make the job rocket science.

I actually think Yobo is a poor analyst. Never heard good tactical inputs or perspectives out of the regular talks.

Either way, he worked with Moyes for a long while and must have picked some coaching ideas for him.

Not my kind of pick when it comes to style of play.
