Dude why are you showing ignorance here and who told you I don't watch Spanish football?

Me I'm displaying ignorance?

Says the person downplaying the Catalan Derby.

Espanyol are pro Spain
Barça are pro Catalonia.

Catalonia has been struggling for independence for years, you think 2 teams on different edge of an independence struggle would be like your local West Ham vs Fulham derby?

I repeat, you don't watch Liga Santander, else you wouldn't thrash Catalan derby, cos that's what you did.

Match that's usually filled with bile, hatred and curses. smh

I'm a Barca fan so don't claim to know La liga more than me

I've felt the Barca/Espanyol derby and I've felt the Merseyside derby (Which you haven't) and I can tell you that the Merseyside derby is more fierce

I don’t care about this player stats comparison, but, MIkel way closer to his actual age than Ndidi? How did you come up with that?

benji93:
Honestly, this is not enough to make such an argument. Circumstantially, they were brewed differently. Perhaps if Mikel had played for a comparably lower team like Genk when he was learning the trade perhaps he would have more goals to his name. Just maybe. He featured for lyn 6 times before he moved to Chelsea. Just wait. Let's see how he fairs as he moves up to better teams. Only time will tell. Besides Mikel is way closer to his actual age than Ndidi. grin. Just a note.

Eye test. You don't have to believe it. I watched Obi during the 2005 under 20 championship and that was what i saw then.

I can only guess the minimum. He's at least 28. Although i won't be surprised if he's above 30(his ceiling should be around 32). grin. Do you not remember he was excluded from the under 17 world cup. There was speculation(highly possible) that he wasn't included cos of he was just above the MRI eligibility limit. Anyway, i suppose it's not fair to dwell on this subject. The Nigerian talent grooming culture is not in good condition. It is what it is.

Well done o.. Didn't he pass the first round of MRI test for the Africa u-17 championship?

Meanwhile,here's a picture of him from 2013..

I was referring to the under 17 world cup. Going by his current age, he was 17 then. That guy doesn't look like a typical Nigerian 17-year-old. He looked easily over 21. Perhaps your reason for such a stand is cos he looked lean. Perhaps if you can get a full-body picture, I may be able to give a better opinion. The background of these our players may make it hard to judge their age when they are teenagers(according to their football age). However, if you have an association with people from such backgrounds or you are from such a background yourself, you can see through it. If you know, you know. grin. I hope this exchange is not the beginning of a long one that could span days.

Yes, I very much haven't.

A Barça fan that opines a merseyside derby is a more heated rivalry than Catalonian derby?

Indeed!

Not necessarily so.

You compare players with a yardstick based on the scenario and objective.

If Pep Guardiola for example is going to make a choice of a DMF between two players he would ask a question like "who is the better offensively"

So you should understand that there are different basis for comparison.

I already told you earlier..... I put forward their attacking stats as an answer to the question....

"who is the better offensive player between the two?"

If you believe that question cannot be asked of a defensive midfielder then I'm afraid....

I may not have an answer to your original question. But I do know that another fierce rivalry in England is Spurs and arsenal, Sol Campbell played for both. William Gallas and Seyi Adebayo also played for Spurs and Arsenal. Luis Figo did the unthinkable in Spain and left Barcelona to join R.Madrid.

Barcelona Madrid rivalry is different from Barcelona and Espanyol ,Barcelona Espanyol should be compared to Liverpool Everton ,I see those kind of rivalry as hate more than footballing issues ,Everton is a small club compared to Liverpool and so do Espanyol to Barca

Luis Enrique played for both Madrid and Barca ,same thing with Ronaldo delima, saviola nko? Lol

Super Eagles hopeful Cyriel Dessers is leaving his options open ahead of a potential departure from Heracles Almelo in the summer transfer window.

With 15 goals from 26 appearances, the Belgian-Nigerian striker emerged as the joint-top scorer of the cancelled Eredivisie season alongside Feyenoord's Steven Berghuis.

In the January transfer window, Heracles rejected a bid from an unnamed club thought to be Celta de Vigo for the services of Desssers but they have promised not to stand in his way if they receive an offer from an interested club this summer.

Though Dessers is targeting a transfer to a major league, he is now open to playing for a club outside the top five European Leagues.

Speaking to Voetbal International, he said : "I think I would fit into several leagues with my way of playing, but I like to keep all doors open.

"It could always be (a return to Belgium). It also depends on what's going on this summer. Perhaps Belgium is a nice intermediate step to a top five league. I certainly don't rule that out."

Prior to the start of the 2019-2020 campaign, the last Nigerian player to reach double digits in goals in a single Eredivisie campaign was former Super Eagles striker Bartholomew Ogbenche, who scored 10 goals for Willem II Tilburg in the 2017-2018 season.

BK Hacken's wing-back Godswill Ekpolo has lifted the lid on his time with Barcelona.

Ekpolo, 24, joined BK Hacken in the summer of 2018. He was recruited from Merida AD.

But he came through the youth system at Barca and recalled to Fotbollskanalen: "It was the first Uefa Youth League organised. I won it and I was the vice-captain. It was a very nice moment, one of my biggest in Barcelona."

On his release from Barca, Ekpolo also said: "It was a little painful considering how they told me. First, they wanted to renew my contract because I was in my final year.

"But then, at the last minute, they said they did not want to extend. It was painful. I think I've learned from that. I don't think it will happen to me again. But that's good now, it was a mistake.

"I was not happy with the way they did it, but I continued to work hard and I could think of what I wanted with my future."

Hmmm

He should be praying for a permanent deal at getafe than eyeing the bundesliga where there are no offers for him

I am angry that this guy is playing at stoke because he is good enough for the top leagues thats why i just hope he joins getafe permanent
