[quote author=mamajaz post=61053442]Good morning Bellong, thanks for keeping vigil on us. For those who have applied to vetasses with occupations which are not completely same with what they assessed for, e.g, joslight. Did you guys just state directly that you're what you're assessing for, or it is your JD alone that described what you wanna love to be assessed for, while you maintain your real professional title in the CV that
I requested the referees to focus on laboratory duties that I do.The qualifications are stated on the degree certificates.I only attached transcripts with the required subjects yr 1 to 4 and masters. Did not attach yr 5 & 6 which contain pediatric surgery medicine psychiatry etc..hope that helps..

It is annoying when people ask how to go about applying.

The title of the thread says "general guide to Australian PR..." Yet you say you don't know how to go about it.
You can't leave the beginning of a textbook to jump to the last page without first having basic understanding of what the book is about by reading introduction.
For all those who don't know how to go about it, a simple read of the first three pages will resolve your issue.

Hey house, Good day!

Just to clarify, is it possible for DIBP to turn down an application during check for someone who did not assess employment with EA but provided every single documentation necessary to DIBP

@Tuteso,

Your degree was assessed as equivalent to an associate degree because UNILORIN is a tier 2 University according to the AQF standard.

I think you got a good result considering that ACS accept experience in lieu of qualification compared to our brother VETASSES....

What is your spouse's qualification?

I am of the opinion that you can net a 20point in IELTS going by your previous result. It is my opinion and may not be relevant to you.

Hi Bellong,

Which schools are on tier 1?

State nomination doesn't follow 189 draw. Once you get nomination from a state, you immediately get ITA from DIBP.

You can apply to other states sponsoring accountants.

Thanks Boss

what is direct grant?

It's the issuance of the PR visa to the applicant(s)

Accountants - SkillSelect UpdateIn our last newsletter, we discussed the increase in the required points for a 189 invitation for accountants to 85 points.

This was very unexpected, and Immigration has now confirmed that they are experiencing technical difficulties with SkillSelect and are working to resolve these.

As a result, no invitations were issued to accountants in the 4 October round.

We are hoping that Immigration will resolve the situation shortly, and will provide further information as it becomes available.

@misoke, plus what baba just told you, ithere is no CO contact at all to ask the applicant to provide or supply more information. This is the best type of grant, because CO's contact tend to push the appearance of grant further. I learnt that the moment you're contacted the file will just be dumped somewhere and other jobs will continue till it reaches your turn again.
So, nobody prays for CO's contact, and one must do all within one's capability to provide detailed and truthful information as much as possible.

Hi everyone, I must appreciate the efforts of those who go out of their way to help here most especially Bellong. Congratulations to all those that have received their PR, Australia awaits you!!!!

I have been a silent reader here and this forum was also my reference when I was applying for PR. I want to share my experience in terms of job search for the benefit of those landing soon.

I cannot remember much of my timeline but I will try to summarize below

PTE Academic - April 2016
CPA assessment (Management Accountant) - June 2016
Positive Assessment - July 2016
EOI (70 points) - July 2016
ITA - September 2016
Application lodged - October 2016
Visa Grant - January 2017
Landed - March 2017

I was applying for jobs between March and May and finally got a job in June to the glory of God. While I was applying, I noticed that I never got an interview invite from all the jobs I applied to on Linkedin (for whatever reason), I guess this has to do with the local experience thing. Besides, most jobs on Linkedin are for permanent positions and most employers I think, are skeptical about employing a new migrant for a permanent position. So, my strategy changed to the use of recruitment agencies and in my opinion, this is the best bet for new migrants. I say this because they have immediate information about open positions and they also have lots of contract roles which is what a lot of new migrants start off with. I contacted about 4 agencies and that was how I started getting interview invitations and finally got a job.

Thank you very much for sharing your strategy. I have already adopted the same process by registering with industry-specific recruiters. I hope to share my testimony here soon enough.

Good day famz, please for those who have assessed experience or provided proof of employment iduring assessment with EA, is my employment letter and pension statement adequate enough? I'm writing an episode based on work experience now. Meanwhile the pension is the monthly or quarterly email statement from my PFA and it uses pin so I will need to tell the assessor the pin for opening the doc .

You will also need your pay slips and tax payment verification records. You can scan the front and back of your tax ID card as well.
For your PFA, put in your pin, print the document And then scan in colour. You don't need to give your pin to your assessor. My pay slips come with pin and this is what I did.
Hope this helps.

For the PFA, if it is Stanbic you can actually print from the online platform. I believe that should suffice
