Even if you download full ROM you still need the updater app. If you want to download an update use a stable Internet connection.

ohhhhh... appreciate your prompt response boss.

Just that the network over here isn't often stable.

Wondering if it's possible for me to start the download and probably pause it when the network gets bad and then continue the download from where it stopped when the network get stable again?

The best thing is to download the full ROM with a download manager and install manually

How to manually update..

Go to Settings > About phone > System update.

If tapping the 3-dot button shows the “Choose update package” option, click on that and choose the downloaded ROM from your internal storage or SD card. In case you don’t find the “Choose update package” option from the 3-dot menu, tap on the MIUI 11 logo inside the “System update” page several times. A prompt will then show that additional updater settings are now available. Now you can tap on Choose update package and select the MIUI 10 update file

That’s it. The system will start decrypting the file and install it automatically for you. Wait for it to finish the process, which may take 10-30 mins

Data should be on during the decryption process

Xiaomi has an aggressive RAM management algorithm blah blah... Even on my RN8, I can barely keep four apps at once without one or two starting afresh. It's not like that on A30s. Both are 4/64 models. I was initially of the opinion that those apps are heavy and 4gb RAM can't hold but after I did a comparison with Samsung A30s and Tecno Camon 12 and 12 Pro, I came to the conclusion that it's Xiaomi RAM management force-closing those apps as the other phones handled minimisation well but sweet Xiaomi kept closing Apps. Sometimes when I'm playing PES20 and minimize to read a text or something (within a time frame less than a minute) and I come back, the game will start all over again.

I don't know about your music player stopping mid-stream though. Do you've any pending updates?
I don't have any pending update. Even I update all my apps too, everything is up to date

How many GB RAM is your phone?

I have been able to solve it. I had to force shut it down, and it rectified. Something the normal shut down doesn't solve. I had managed the lag and everything for almost a week.. But please what could have caused the RAM clog and the partial hanging of the phone, so I can prevent it next time

Force Restart is called Soft Reset, their might be some logs or broken files slowing the phone down.

Also if you want to keep some apps in memory lock them to the memory but I won't advise you do it for a lot of apps.
