plaetton: Dasuki is the chief defendant here and he has not denied it. He's defense is that he did not embezzle the funds but used it for the weapons he said he needed. This defense has since been torn apart by the prosecutors with the recovery of hundreds of millions of naira from the Arms deal scandal. Dasuki is now fighting on legalese. He's looking for a loophole to exploit so he can go Scot-free. You claim the figures don't add up but no media outlet corroborates your fallacious supposition. Not Sahara Reporters, not Premium Times, Not Vanguard Ngr, Not even UK Daily Mail(the unofficial propaganda machine of the PDP in the UK). The ONSA applied for $2.1b and was given same. I believe they spent a negligible amount therefrom to procure faulty, defective weaponry for the beleaguered soldiers who were endangered while Dasuki and co spent the rest on spiritual consultations(Baffarawa), and other such nonsensical stuffs. Stop trying to defend the indefensible. |

The way we've fallen in this country is alarming! Any one who says jack against this government is now an ipob, ipod or ipad, even if the person is stating facts in this case (plaetton) or you are a supporter of corruption. I dont know much about this case but please if you are to counter once opinion do it with facts am yet to see any of the supposed intelligent cross examiners post anything meaningful, just the usual rants, what a pity 4 Likes 1 Share |

plaetton: The president never said the $2.1b was stolen by Dasuki alone. That's the total amount stolen from the defence budget not in one year but over the five years of Jonathan's administration. The Dasuki probe has spread out into all the arms of the military and that is the total amount at stake. 2 Likes |

Re: After Watching Buhari On CNN, I Can't Stop Laughing by plaetton: 12:23am On May 17, 2016 |
babadee1: This is a much better argument if true. But, the President Said on world television that people Sat down like in a dinner table and shared $2.2b, and kept emphasizing it. And this is my point all along. Funds were looted. Exaggerations are unnecessary. The government does not have to exaggerate and milk it for its shock value. It undermines their efforts, and some would say, motives. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

OneManLegion: If you think I am trying to defend anything here, then perhaps you have not been paying proper attention to my carefully chosen words. If you understand a little psychology, you will see the techniques of APC's well oiled propaganda machinery. They throw shocking figures to the masses, dress it up with suppositions, conjectures and innuendos, and then Viola! The plebeians soak it up hook line and sinker. Even when the FACTS become evident , they still continue to roll with the shock figures. Just look at your wild allegations. The Nigerian army has come up publicly on few occasions to reiterate that at no time were substandard equipment procured to fight Boko haram. Yet YOU still go to town Hawking the very same LIEs that has been repudiated over and over. See what I mean? We have to learn and endeavor to always separate the wheat from the Shaff. 4 Likes 3 Shares |

plaetton: You keep harping on APC propaganda and whatnot like say opposition nor dey. How come in the whole of Nigeria, only the brilliant Plae.tton on Nairaland has been able to spot this humongous anomally in the computations? So, the president deceived a whole CNN too abi? Shebi they don't have investigative journalists there? You're saying the Nigerian Army have denied buying defective weaponry; wait o, were you expecting that they accept? Wouldn't that have been an acquiescence to their culpability? Are you this naïve or you just dey whyne me? Those same army generals that denied it then are now facing colossal corruption charges. Surely you're aware that the top dogs in the military are being investigated for stealing to the nasty tune of several billions of naira? Where were you when the Nigerian airforce had a jet that crashed that they couldn't even find?! Were you around during the excruciating period, that period of national disgrace where the nation was combing the bushes for their spoilt war jets even as the Boko Haram were severely routing the Nigerian army? And were you around to feel the pains of betrayal when the jet was found and it was discovered to have faulty rotors? Did you come to Nairaland to, in your perfect grammar, vent your rage over the consummate inefficacy that the incidence represented? Since APC, through Buhari, dropped the shocking bombshell about the $2.1b that was diverted, you're the only one who claims it's a propaganda. Dasuki accepted that he got $2.1b but claims that he bought weapons with them. Oya, wow me again. I know people like you who are deeply mired in their delusions are masters of the art of shifting narratives. |

seunajia: Lol. Tinubu had always been a knuckle head to the GEJ administration. And I had great respects for him for providing a virile opposition in our democratic journey. Problem now is that APC , even after winning the elections, is still acting like an opposition party, depending heavily on propaganda and shock to justify its own existence. Hilarious. 4 Likes |

MarieSucre:oh Jeez I never knew you understand my deep frustration when he couldn't repudiate with facts but keep mentioning the word' facts 'as if that is all one needs anytime facts about a thing are required. the dasukigate goes beyond dasuki alone but he is just d fulcrum: apart NOI $322m which was outside the 2015 budget for d office of d NSA, plus previous budgets e.g in 2014 about N110bn was budgeted to that office(both rec current and capital expenditure). and several other funds that they never wanted the public to know about until Buhari came on stage...so tell me y should i believe those who refused to equip our soldiers for BH to kill them easily like goats ;and who would have murdered the soldiers by labelling them mutineers for demanding a better condition especially when provisions were made in the national budgets for such demands? Y should I doubt Buhari who has a wider view of this official crime against the Nigerian state until proven wrong by time? time will tell. 1 Like |

No matter how the president said it ,the fact remains that people shared 2.1 b public money which is criminal...so let the criminals defend themselves or if you have all the evidence with dates, places and figures to put a lie to the president's claim please do not hesitate Mr Devil's Advocate. 2 Likes |
