yaradua started amnesty not gej. with all his military experience obj cud not do sh!t buhari thinks he is god. he will eat the humble pie.
Yaradua gave amnesty, but gej resorted to giving all the bogus security contracts through which billions were paid monthly to the big militants to protect pipelines. Giving those billions to those guys is the genesis of the problems we will forever suffer from; the more you give them billions, the more the thirst for billions increases. The govt should have spent those billions in uplifting the lives of the villagers and communities - building clean schools, hospitals, badass road networks, water, free steady electricity etc. The core oil producing communities are not plenty, developing them shouldnt be rocket science and when they are developed, some money seeking miscreants wouldnt have an excuse to come hold the whole nation to ransom.

Only a f00l will want his domain to be turned into a rendezvous for a bloody conflict. The people of Syria, Lebanon, NE of Nigeria, Iraq, Libya all know better, I hope the NDeltans don't learn the hard way.

Thanks to Buhari's high-handedness and undiplomatic nature, A very obstinate man.

The activities of the militants are not only affecting the host communities but also the whole country at large, But at the end, They shall all benefit; The government has no choice than to dialogue with them, I think they are fighting for a just cause.

The Nigerian government does not dialogue with criminals. They crush them. They should keep up with the Bombings, and in the meanwhile the crackdown continues

You guys are so ignorant, that you come here and spill trash. When exactly did the military stop invading our communities? During GEJ's regime, and that was reduced militarization. There is nothing your likes, the Nigerian govt or the IOC can threaten us with that we haven't seen already. From 1997-2002/03, the city of Warri was militarized, checkpoints every 0.5miles how many things did that stop?
This is not ethnic clash, the only offensive we know will come, is from the cowardly NA that all they are taught is bully. They have done this since Saro Wiwa's time, the militants have not hurt one Niger Deltan....

fulanmafia, kindly tell the Gbaramatu chief, that we are no longer fighting for peanuts. We want to control our own wealth, not the pittance contractor jobs that Chevron dishes out as compensations. We want our people to be at the top echelons of IOCs, not yorubas and people from other regions. We want to control our own oil wells, and hear of Niger Delta oil billionaires, like its in Texas, Russia, UAE and every sane society.

This is the youths fight for the future of our children, about what kind of country they will live in. Our fathers like this chief failed us, their cowardice is the reason we are here. Instead of raising us to fight a common enemy, we were brought up to fight each other. They failed and as such no one will listen to them anymore.

I think a better approach has to be followed instead of just splashing billions on belligerent miscreants. Splashing millions on militants any time they feel they've run out of cash can never be a sustainable approach; what about just developing the freaking communities and getting the real suffering community members appeased?

Have you ever been to Gbaramatu or Okrika or some of these communities where those big warlords come from?... If you've been to those places, you will understand the futility of paying criminals money.
